Testimonials
Amethyst’s Interactive Media Gets People Talking!
I am very impressed with this interactive demo of your equipment. I have been
involved with medical space and equipment planning for over 20 years. I wish
that all of the equipment that I review had this type of demo. It definitely helps
when trying to explain to a non equipment-savvy person.

I am impressed with your pioneering efforts to connect the science/technology
with the practice/user… The future for mechanical ventilators will depend on
the ability to teach in their use in an integrated, multidimensional format.
Richard P. Mitchell, RRT
Educator
[W]e see the expanded use of interactive media using simulated equipment/patients
as one of the most effective ways to increase sales… Working with Amethyst
Research has given us a great advantage in developing our new interactive product
materials due to their vast knowledge of simulation technology… We are confident
that a high return on investment with all future projects created with Amethyst
is ensured.

V.P. of Sales & Marketing
Newport Medical Instruments, Inc.
I wanted to write and say thank you for the great job you did in developing the
“IQ” CD. We received rave reviews from the clinicians in attendance, but just as
importantly, we really one-upped our competitors! Amethyst’s ability to produce
the CD, on time and on budget, was extraordinary, considering how little time
and how much work needed to be completed.

Products and Services
Amethyst Research:
Your Passport to Medical Device Expertise
Web Sites
Amethyst is launching a series of web sites, each dedicated to a specific piece of medical equipment.
By providing an unprecedented level of expertise and a wide range of information, Amethyst sites
attract the clinical specialists and decision makers who purchase and use the equipment. The first
site, VentWorld.com, is up and running.
Web Site Advertising: Display equipment at the Amethyst Virtual Expo for maximum exposure
to a prequalified audience. Amethyst provides links that direct visitors to manufacturers' corporate
web sites.
Custom Software
Amethyst can create the programming to animate your equipment, allowing clinical specialists to
take a test drive from the comfort of their office or home. Interactive programming provides a guide
to your equipment, complete with tutorials and special features.
Education and Training
As medical devices grow more sophisticated and complex, continuing education becomes more critical.
Amethyst offers a complete range of exciting, interactive educational services to manufacturers and
healthcare institutions.
CME Programs: Amethyst works with certified CME providers and opinion leaders to design
innovative, credit-granting educational programs in all media.
Simulations: Using formal mathematical models of pathophysiology, Amethyst creates simulated
patients that interact with 3-dimensional graphic simulations of medical devices for training
and demonstration.
Custom Training and Operation Materials: Amethyst can produce custom software training
systems to enhance hard copy operation and training manuals.
Protocols and Procedures: Amethyst provides the programming that makes it easy to distribute
and implement protocols and procedures throughout hospitals, healthcare systems, and beyond.
3-D Environment Visualizations: Because space in healthcare facilities is always at a premium
and traffic patterns can be critical, Amethyst develops 3-dimensional architectural representations
that help planners optimize equipment placement to maximize the value of space.
Market Research
Web sites are ideal tools for gathering market data. Manufacturers who exhibit at Amethyst sites
receive feedback on the number of visitors who test drive their equipment. Amethyst also offers more
detailed industry-wide data drawn from comments and concerns expressed at site forums and
questionnaires that provide insights into the device community.
Consulting
Amethyst consults with medical device manufacturers to provide research and development services
on topics such as on programming and user-interface design.
Web Site Management: Amethyst can apply our innovative and imaginative programming
to your corporate web site and provide the on-going management that will keep your site current.
