Invitation On behalf of the organizing committee of International symposium on Green Technology for Resources and Materials Recycling, we are very pleased to invite you to participate in this symposium being held November 24-27, 2004 at Convention & Exhibition Center in Seoul, Korea. This symposium is intended for all those working and interested in the field of materials and wastes recycling including professionals, technologists, technicians, and engineers, etc. In addition, other applicable persons including equipment buyers, planners, and industrial managers who have a vested interest in this subject are cordially invited to the symposium. The symposium is expected to provide all participants with an opportunity for open discussion on new technologies and latest findings in the field of resources and materials recycling. We are certain that all participants will gain insight on upcoming technological changes and collaborative experiences through this symposium and also make new friends and business contacts. The four-day symposium will include an exhibition tour, plenary and technical seminars, symposium banquet, and industry visit. The Convention & Exhibition Center is one of the Korean premier conference centers and can be easily reached by metro or bus from Incheon International airport. There are many hotels and lodges with several classes nearby the Center and you will have a joyful time by city-sightseeing of Seoul in the agreeable weather. Nov. 24-27, 04 3 General Scope The issue of waste is currently high worldwide and successful recycling efforts will be an urgent need for environmentally sound and sustainable development in the future. This symposium will offer the participants the latest advances in waste recycling and management which may include separation of valuables from waste, waste treatment and minimization, energy recovery from waste, wastewater treatment, assessment of environmental impact, metal recycling, environmental law and regulation, and other important topics related to resources and materials recycling. The four-day symposium consists of plenary talks, parallel technical sessions with oral presentations and posters selected from contributed papers, technical tour and exhibition‘NEW2004’. Venue and Itinerary The symposium will take place at Convention & Exhibition Center (COEX) in Seoul, the capital of Korea, which can be easily reached by public transportation from Incheon international airport (about 70 minutes by airport limousine bus). It was located near Samsung station on the subway line #2. Detailed information regarding the venue can be available on the internet homepage www.coex.co.kr. The provisional itinerary of the symposium is as follows: November 24 : Exhibition Tour - The 12th Seoul Int. Environmental Industry Expo ‘New2004’ ( ) at Indian Hall, COEX - Entrance Fee: 3,000 won (Free for only pre-register. Refer to http://enviroexpo.co.kr). November 25 : Registration and Opening Ceremony / Plenary and Technical Session November 26 : Technical Session / Symposium Banquet November 27 : Technical Tour Language The official language of the symposium will be English. LCD(Beam) Projector will be provided 2. Notebook computers in the Venue will be installed Microsoft Power Point 2000/Word 2000 and operated by Window XP. 3. On-line registration through the KIRR or IWRC website is also possible by use of the registration form. To be eligible for the advance registration rates, registrations must be received by secretary general or through the on-line registration system no later than October 30. All advance registrants will be notified via e-mail confirming that their registration has been received. We recommend that you register in advance if at all possible. Registration fee includes practically everything else except accommodation (i.e. a copy of proceedings and other materials distributed at the symposium, refreshments, banquet and technical tour).
