NEW ADELEKE UNIVERSITY ADMINISTRATION
INAUGURATED
I
t was William James that
made this observation, 'it
is our attitude at the
beginning of a difficult
undertaking which, more
than anything else, will
determine its successful
outcome'. Against this
backdrop, how else could
anyone describe the new
administration of Adeleke
University Ede Osun State
than to say, 'they hit the
ground running.'
The new administration was
formally inaugurated on
Friday July 29, 2016 during a
colourful occasion that
attracted dignitaries from
within and outside the state
of Osun. The President/ Vice
Chancellor Prof. Dayo Alao
during his acceptance
speech made it clear that
within a short while, Adeleke
University which presently
occupies 47th position in the
national private University
ranking will be among the
first 10. In a society where
leaders say things to douse
tension and gain cheap
popularity, many would
wonder whether the
President/ Vice Chancellor
was following the trend. But,
he proved that as a leader
per excellence, he meant
every statement he uttered
during his acceptance
speech. To this end, the
President/Vice Chancellor,
Professor Ekundayo
Samuel Alao with other
Principal Officers after their
first meeting upon
resumption on Monday
August 1, 2016 took a
working tour of the campus.
The tour took them to the
hostels, the different
faculties and finally to the
construction site for the staff
quarters.
The essence of the tour was
among other things, to
e n a b l e t h e n e w

themselves with the facilities
on ground and to appreciate
the enormous work that the
Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Deji
Adeleke has done and is still
doing. It also gave them
firsthand information on
certain issues that need to
be strengthened in order to
achieve the goal of
positioning Adeleke
University to be among the
first ten private universities
in Nigeria in the nearest
future.
As the President/Vice
Chancellor and his team
settle down to work, one
could without mincing words
say, this is indeed the dawn
of a new era in AU. Hence all
hands must be on deck in
order to ensure the
successful accomplishment
of the set goal.
