Vision:
To strength our Mother Lanka in which all children can pursue a quality
education that enables them to reach their full potential and contribute to the
development of their community and the world
Mission:
“Education is a debt due from present to future generations” (George Peabody).
Thus, helping our Mother Lanka to develop education is a duty of the present
generation and the foremost way of rebuilding the country as education can
transform lives and communities.
Current Strategy:
The first step towards reaching our mission is to reconstruct rural schools in
villages which were severely affected from the civil war which prevailed nearly
for 30 years. Most of the rural schools of war affected areas are run with
minimum basic facilities and consequently teachers are struggling to provide a
standard education. People who hold on to their villages while having enormous
threats from the terrorists for 30 years deserve a help to uplift their children’s
knowledge, more than anyone else.
Sri Lanka has many knowledge based expatriates living all around the world.
Most of them enjoy better life styles with the help of free education provided
by our Mother Lanka. So, giving her back something significant for what we
received through free education is an inseparable duty.
Today, you have gathered to Perth Ridma Rayak 2011 to help to raise funds for
our first project of rebuilding Weli Oya Athawatunu Wewa School in Vanni district
in Sri Lanka.
We determine and promise to make sure every single dollar you contribute will
be utilised to enhance the quality of education for children in rural villages in
Sri-Lanka.
