• Jordan is one of the most arid countries in the
world
• Only 180 m³ metres of water available per
person per year
• Water resources were becoming more and
more scarce and old pipes were leaking
• Difference in elevation of 1,400 metres
• Two highly efficient pressure shroud pumps,
while monitoring and energy saving systems
were being installed
• Results:
- safe drinking water supply for 50,000 people
- Power cost savings of more than € 110,000
a year and energy savings of more
than 1.5 million kWh a year

• The task was to enable a process with
biomass carriers.
• Due to a constant circulation only Wilo was
able to guarantee reliable and efficient
results by offering the innovative Wilo-Sevio
ACT technique instead of conventional
systems with mixers.
• The treatment capacity was increased
enormously.
• In parallel it was possible to save about
one-third of the energy costs.

Lesotho to South Africa´s dry industrial region
around Johannesburg
• Water transported through the Mohale Tunnel to
the Katse Dam: distance of 32 km
• Two clean water pumps and one sewage pump
have been installed
• Both clean water pumps used for the drainage of
the maintenance tunnel
• Sewage pump works as a drainage pump to
pump the sludge out of the deepest pump sump

• Anpara Power Station in India is one of the
newest and largest coal-fired power plants on
the Asian continent
• Gigantic cooling water demand of 1,200 MW
power plant
• Five gigantic vertical turbine pumps are used
to pump the cooling water.
• Each has a driving power of 3,400 kW; each
pump 35,600 m³ of water per hour
• Highly efficient hydraulics with great
performance: sensational hydraulic efficiency
of 88% was reached
