'Abiqua Elephant Ears’ (Walden West 99) Giant. 30" tall x 5' wide at maturity! One of
the largest hosta cultivars in existence. Very large blue-green leaves have large
"sculptured" leaves resembling elephant ears. Leaves can measure 17" long x 12" wide.
Upright mound with arching leaves make this one stand out. Pale lavender flowers in mid
summer. Fertile. This one has not been on the market for quite sometime.

This seedling of 'Atom Smasher' is very
flashy with long, narrow, tapered green leaves with bright yellow, ruffled margins in the

'Alligator Alley'
Walters Gardens, Inc.) Aptly named, this medium to large sized hosta
forms a coarsely textured mound of leathery, puckered, heart-shaped to round leaves of
good substance. It is a wide-margined sport of the long-popular ‘Dick Ward’, which is
named for one of the most accomplished Hosta breeders in the US. Its leaves display wide,
blue-green margins with chartreuse centres that become yellow in summer. Near-white
flowers appear atop chartreuse scapes in early summer. Foliage Height: 18” Scape Height:

version of 'First Frost' displaying extra wide margins. The leaves emerge frosty-blue with a

'Baby Blue Eyes’ (Solberg, 2006) Mini-Small 6" high x 16" wide. Very cute mound of
blue, heart-shaped leaves that form a showy, flat clump with a tight growing habit. Great
substance and lavender flowers on short scapes in July. Fast growth rate.

'Baby Doll’ (Van Eechaute 08) Small. This is a beautiful little sport of 'Blue Cadet' from
Danny Van Eechaute in Belgium. Round blue-green leaves with a dark yellow centre. Great
substance. Tubular lavender flowers mid-summer. Looks a like a little 'June'.

‘Bam Bam Blue’ (Schult 2009) One of the nicest "blues" around. Very blue and very
corrugated dinner
leaves display some cupping and even a little waviness. Forms an

'Banana Boat' (Eleanor and William Lachman 91) This small to medium sized hosta from
the Lachman's is still quite rare.
It grows slowly and was originally sold thru Handy
Hatfield. Dark green leaves are rounded and elongated displaying a wide yellow centre.
They are cupped like a boat and have a leathery substance. Violet flowers.

'Barbara Ann' (Park Green Nurseries) Large.
A sport of H. sieboldiana 'Elegans'
discovered in Great Britain by two lab technicians named Barbara and Ann.
Forms a
stunning clump of thick, corrugated blue-green leaves with a broad, cream margin that
lightens to white. Near white flowers appear on 24" scapes in midsummer.

‘Bashful' (Sisson) H. Bashful is an open pollinated seedling from H. Blue Cadet with

blue leaves have gold streaked leaves circled by a golden margin. Lavender flowers on short
scapes. This little gem is very limited.
