Replace Worn Tips on Time
It’s important to replace worn grinder hammer tips at the right stage of wear. Dull, worn
tips are inefficient for grinding debris. When hammer tips become severely worn, they
are completely ineffective at cutting debris. Severely worn tips cost you money in lost
production time, reduced productivity, fuel consumption, and machine wear and tear.
Keep your grinder hammer tips in good working condition to ensure you’re getting the

Kennametal Inc. encourages the safe use of its products. To help avoid personal

• Wear approved personal protection equipment, including eye and ear protection,
steel-toed shoes, hard hat, and vest.
• Make sure tools are properly seated and securely retained.
• Do not strike tools with metal objects. Carbide tips could shatter.
• Exercise care when removing tools.
• Inspect tools before each use. If they are dull, cracked, burred, or bent, do not use them.
• Operate all machines with safety in mind. Stand clear of machines in use and make sure
protective guards are in place.
• Do not change tools when the drum is moving or still engaged.
