The 2013 International Fitness Showcase is the
ultimate fitness experience for fitness instructors
and enthusiasts. Experience three amazing days of
dance, aerobics, step, combat, conditioning, lectures,
workshops and mind/body sessions that will enthuse,
motivate and excite you for the next 12 months until the
2014 International Fitness Showcase!
The Venues

The Winter Gardens provides the perfect setting for an event of this stature.
In the late nineteenth century the prospering seaside town of Blackpool set
about the building of a huge, grand and visionary complex across four and
a half acres of its most valuable estate. Unique to Blackpool and recently
restored to its historic grandeur and pristine glory the Winter Gardens is one
of the most amazing buildings in the world. It’s a spectacular meeting place
in a perfect location with the means to cater for more than 10,000 people!

Yet again the presenters showcased this year are among the best in the world
and have travelled from as far a field as Slovenia, Italy, Australia, USA and
beyond. They have been hand picked to provide you with the most amazing
mix of styles, formats and personalities.
Home grown talent is also comprehensively represented with top UK
presenters plus companies such as Antigravity Yoga, Bokwa, Bootcamp
Fitness, BTS, Chek Institute, Chrysalis Promotions, Drummond Education,
Gym Symphonies, Metabolic Effect, Modern Pilates, MyZone, Physical
Company, Piloxing, Premier Training, Pure Energy, Reebok Easytone, Star
Trac Spinning, X Pole International, YMCAFit and Zumba.
To support and nurture new talent in the industry we also have a stream
of new to IFS presenters who will be showcasing their talents throughout
the weekend.
The International Fitness Showcase is organised and run by Chrysalis
Promotions Limited. The men behind this organisation are two active
fitness presenters in their own right: Ceri Hannan and Steve Watson.
Between them they have over 50 years experience in the Health and
Fitness industry (Yes they really are that old!!!).
Under the Chrysalis umbrella they have pulled together their skills and
talents to organise one of the most exciting and proactive Health and
Fitness events in the Fitness calendar: The International Fitness Showcase!
The Timetable
With over 257 sessions to choose from there is something to suit everyone’s
needs. We suggest you study the programme on the centre pages very
carefully (which is colour coded to help plan your weekend) and choose 3
sessions for each hour that you wish to take part. Then carefully read and
complete the enclosed Session Selection Sheet and return it to us as soon as
possible. Remember, the sooner you return and we receive your completed
form, the more likely you are to get your first choices!
Trade Show
Situated in The Horseshoe area of the Winter Gardens will be the Trade
Show so come prepared with your credit cards and your shopping shoes
on. A multitude of companies will be exhibiting to provide you with retail
therapy which includes clothing, music, education, workshops and tours,
equipment, training courses, DVDs and books, mind body formats,
alternative health, rehabilitation options and much more.

Dinner and Dance set in the wonderful Pure Energy Spanish Hall. This
will be your chance to unwind after the day’s activities with a 3 course
meal, interactive entertainment and an awards ceremony to recognise

Nicky Boughey
New to IFS, Anastasia oozes charisma,
unique style, passion, energy, methodology
and stunning choreography. She has
appeared on Greek TV and choreographed
for famous singers and actors in Greece and
Germany. Anastasia is the creator of ‘kinetic
energy’, a physical fitness system. Anastasia
presents in Greece, Israel, Germany, Italy,
France, China, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Serbia,
Ukraine, Czech Republic, Turkey and Africa!

Nicky has a martial arts background in
karate and kickboxing and has been in the
fitness industry for over ten years teaching
a variety of classes. With her take away

Neil Bates
Neil has been in the fitness industry
for over 18 years and is the National
Master Trainer for Fitness FX. Neil has been
a programme developer for Stomp FX since
2006 and is a member of JUMPYBUMPY’s
Team JB. Neil was the first winner of
‘Presenter of the Year’ at the World Fitness
Experience in 2001 and has been a familiar
face at conventions ever since. Neil has been
invited to present at IDEA in 2013 and in
2008 and 2009 he won the ‘Fusion Fitness
Presenter Award’ in Iceland.

Whitney V Britney Team Teach with Stuart Harrop

Lincoln Bryden
Lincoln Bryden is the European Master
Trainer for Metabolic Effect and author of
“Crack The Weight Loss Code”. He has
presented in over 40 different countries, he
was the street dance fitness expert on the Big
Breakfast TV Show on Channel 4, and was the
runner up in the Shape Magazine European
Presenter of the Year 2003. Currently Lincoln
is a lecturer at London Lesiure College, and
has written numerous training courses and
certifications for training organisations both in
Europe and internationally.

Marvin joined the fitness industry by
accident in 2000. Battling with being overweight
Marvin found his passion learning and
practicing fitness on himself before unleashing
it on others. Within the first 4 years Marvin had
been a fitness instructor, Personal Trainer and
qualified in exercise to music, before setting off
to sea working on cruise ships. Marvin added
to his list sports massage therapy and started
lecturing health and fitness in schools and

pioneer and promoter of the industry with
FitCamp. Renowned for taking fitness to the
masses in the early 90s with her consumer
videos and books. From events, club
management, personal training, education
to sports therapy, she has a wealth of
knowledge, passion and energy that she
shares in her sessions for all to benefit.
Currently developing her Fusion Pilates
training abroad and in the UK, she trained as a dancer in Pilates in the 70’s
and helped establish Pilates Fitness in the UK since the 90’s.
Marco has been involved in the fitness
industry for 20 years and has presented at
many international events. He has appeared
on Italian TV and is a manager of two fitness
clubs in Rome. Marco’s energy and funky
choreography creates a perfect mix of fitness
and dance.

Tonification
BBL (belly buttocks legs) is one of the most popular aerobic training
systems helping you burn calories while strengthening muscles at the
same time. In 60 minutes, the workout focuses mainly on “critical” body
parts such as waist, buttocks and thigh area. BBL is interval training with
easy choreography where exercises are performed using your own body
weight and different equipment (step, elastics,…). Exercises are performed
at different levels and can be easily accommodated by all according to

Elisabeth Dalsgaard
Elisabeth is an international presenter
and choreographer who has been teaching
in the fitness industry since 1995. She runs
her own dance company in Denmark, www.
Swing-time.dk. She organises events and
conventions in Denmark and at Club La Santa,
Lanzarote – the worlds biggest sports resort.
Elisabeth teaches a variety of classes in both
aerobics and dance. Her teaching skills are
excellent and have made her a renowned and
sought after presenter and instructor all over
Europe. Her classes are full of energy and new ideas, and always a lot of
fun! She has a degree in Sports Science from Copenhagen University. She
is also a personal trainer and has been a part of the Danish NIKE team for
6 years. Elisabeth was previously a competition dancer and was the Danish
champion for several years in different dance styles. For 7 years in a row
she was the Danish champion in rock’n roll dance.

of AFFE in Spain and organises conventions
and workshop programs in his native Spain.
Danni is one of the founders of the asymmetric
system of teaching, and constantly delivers new
ideas, choreography and teaching systems.

Promotions. He has enjoyed 24 successful
years in the Health and Fitness industry, during
which time his career has taken him across
the world in various capacities. A former UK
aerobic champion he represented his country at
European and World level. As well as delivering
unique master classes and workshops at home
and abroad he has gained extensive experience
in health club management. Having worked for
many large operators he currently resides in
Cape Town where he is Head of Programme Development & Innovations for
Virgin Active in South Africa. As a by product of his work, health club members
across the world experience his fun innovative programs daily.

The Resistance
Now listen very carefully, I shall say this only once. This is the ultimate
resistance conditioning class using flex tubing. This class combines standing
resistance work for both the upper and lower body, core conditioning and a
mat based section for the abs and the postural muscles, and finishes with
a developmental stretch component.
Rachel Holmes
Jairo Junior
Since 1997 Jairo is an international
presenter. He participates every year in
numerous fitness conventions and events,
bringing his originality and his Latin energy.
He is known for his teaching methodology, his
personal appeal, for the elegance and fluidity
of his creations. Step and Latin aerobics
are his own specialties but he has also
created new training programs, like Capoeira
Trainee and Body Trainee, where he has
applied his skills of both physiotherapy and
competitive fitness.

Neil has been in the fitness industry
for over 18 years and is the National Master
Trainer for Fitness FX. Neil has been a program
developer for Stomp FX since 2006 and is a
member of JUMPYBUMPY’s Team JB. Neil
was the first winner of ‘Presenter of the Year’
at the World Fitness Experience in 2001 and
has been a familiar face at conventions ever
since. Neil has been invited to present at IDEA
in 2013 and in 2008 and 2009 he won the
‘Fusion Fitness Presenter Award’ in Iceland.
Kelly Edwards
Kelly is part of the Physical Company &
GRAVITY UK training team and comes with
over 20 year’s fitness experience from cruise
ships to fitness management. She currently

Total Gym, BOSU Balance Trainer®, Flowin,
GLIDING, Trigger Point – The GRID, and
Kranking. Kelly has bought her experience

Kelly Reed-Banks
The latest addition to the Fitness FX team,
Kelly is a Groove FX program developer and

Viveca Jensen founded PILOXING®
by combining her extensive fitness acumen
and business savvy to create a distinctive
exercise program. Jensen’s background
in dance, pilates and boxing helped her
to craft this new inter-disciplinary exercise

boxing and dance. Sweden-born Jensen is a

Dan holds a Master of Science in Physical

evaluation, creation and implementation of

Leigh has been working in the field of
health and fitness since 1996. From 1999
to 2004, Leigh worked as a personal trainer
and a manger and educator of personal
trainers. In 2004, Leigh formed his practice
BodyCHEK in London where he still works
today. In addition to working with clients and
athletes to overcome orthopaedic, digestive,
hormonal and immune conditions, he is an
author of three fitness books and teaches a

not double booking in the same hour.

aving finalised your choices write the reference number on your ‘Session
Selection Sheet’, make a copy for your records and then return it
AS SOON AS POSSIBLE so your selections can be processed or
BOOK ONLINE!
4Each room has a stipulated capacity so we ask you to make your first,
second and third choices in order of preference in case the session you
choose has already been filled.

If you do not show a second or third choice we will automatically assume
you have no other preference and your ticket will state ‘No Session
Selection’ for that hour.

Ben Pratt
Ben has been a driving force in the
fitness industry since 1995, has worked for
Premier Training International since 2003
and currently co-manages the Premier Tutor
Team. Qualifications include a sports science
degree, sports massage therapy, corrective
exercise and holistic nutrition which, in
conjunction with years of research and
lecturing, serve as a solid platform to educate
and inspire others. He has been a regular
presenter at national fitness conventions since
2007 and has also presented internationally at events from the USA to the
Far East. Ben is the author of Premier’s Level 4 qualification in Exercise and
Nutritional Interventions for Obesity and Diabetes.
Richard Scrivener
Richard is a Health, Fitness & Nutrition
Lecturer for Premier Training International
and author of their new highly innovative ‘Triplanar Kettlebell Training’ course. Richard has
presented both nationally and internationally
on the fitness convention circuit. His
experience is underwritten by an MSc in
High Performance Physiology from Brunel
University. Richard’s expertise as a strength
and conditioning coach and personal trainer
has enabled him to assist many in their quest
for optimal health, vitality and performance, and he is a resolute believer of
‘practice what you preach’!
Steve Harrison
Steve is the Southern Tutor Manager
for Premier Training and a renowned
fitness presenter. Steve is also Premier’s
Studio Instruction Coordinator, responsible
for developing Premier’s group exercise
qualifications. His inspiring classes and
presentations are highly respected on
the fitness circuit, always delivering fun
and intense workouts. Steve has a strong
background in elite sports, as a former
National Champion track and road cyclist and
key member of the British Squad, and likes to incorporate his previous
experiences as well as his love for highly effective and innovative training
methods into the classes he teaches.
Ben McDonald
Ben has competed in a wide array of sports
including aikido, board diving, fencing and
boxing. Following his sporting achievements
he went on to become a successful personal
trainer, build an outstanding PT business and
to train elite athletes. Ben has produced leading
seminars, has had numerous articles published
in national health and fitness magazines and
been consulted as a TV fitness expert. He
currently lectures for Premier Training and has
presented his unique training methods both
nationally and internationally. Ben is the author of Premier’s ground breaking
Power Club and Total Padwork certifications.
Paul Edmondson
Paul is one of the leading tutors for
Premier Training International with a strong
background in functional fitness and therapy
based training. Paul is also Premier’s lead
ViPR trainer. His convictions in fitness training
come from understanding how the body truly
moves as an integrated, three dimensional unit
throughout the complete kinetic chain. Having
built a successful PT and therapy business,
Paul has had the opportunity to train a number
of world class golfers using his forward-thinking
movement based training. Drawing on his knowledge and experience
developed over many years, Paul also delivers world class workshops around
the subject of functional training.

Mel Chambers
Mel has been working in the fitness
industry for over 17 years. Within that time
she has worked in many roles and taught
in a vast variety of fitness disciplines. Her
main passion has been within Indoor Cycling
and over the last 10 years has become a
well established trainer and presenter and
delivered master classes and workshops to
thousands of instructors across the UK. An
established artist, and If you can’t find her on
a Spinning® bike then she’s usually enjoying
the great outdoors somewhere either surfing, skiing, cycling or walking.
Barry Ross
A Master Instructor in The Spinning ®
Program since 2007 with over 15 years
expereince in the fitness industry and
numberous qualifications. Barry currently
owns his own Personal Training business near
Glasgow, using Metabolic Assessment for
clients wishing to gain more from their training.
His goals are to continue to build his high end
PT business and promote the ranging benefits
of the original indoor cycling programme in
Scotland and throughout the UK.
Michelle Colvin
A Master Instructor for The Spinning®
Programme from 2007 and a specialist in
metabolic assessment, VO2 max and blood
lactate fitness testing. She is a Lifestyle
Coach for her own multisport coaching
company. Michelle has competed in Ultra
Fit® competitions at National Level and is an
active triathlete at all distances from Sprint to

Scott Schlesinger
Scott is a Master Instructor for the
Spinning® program and an ACE, ISA and
AFAA certified personal trainer. A respected
member of the team and regular at the World
Spinning and Sports Conference in Miami. He
is the cocreator of Synergy Circuit, and has
coordinated charity rides for HIV, Leukemia,
United Way, Hurricane Katrina Relief and the
Lance Armstrong Foundation. His experience
as a Triathlete and Ironman filters into his
teaching everyone like a potential athlete with
the greatest of inspiration.
Brian McKenna
A Master Instructor in The Spinning ®
Programme since 2007, Brian has been
teaching Spinning in Ireland since 2001. He
holds a BA and National Diploma in Recreation
and Business Studies with over 10 years in
the industry. He is a former inter-county Gaelic
footballer and currently trains in road cycling.
Mark Tickner
Sandro Morelli
A Senior Master Instructor for The
Spinning ® Programme, Fitness Trainer
BSA (Germany) and Master Trainer for
HUMANSPORT™. A former competitor
in triathlon Olympic distance, active cross
country mountain bike racer and road biker,
Tai Chi Chuan and Qi Gong instructor. Italian
Sandro, now living in London after living in
Switzerland most of his life, utilises metabolic
testing to assist in the training regimes of
elite athletes and club members alike with his
personal training business S2. Sandro is also a successful mountain and
road bike designer with a global distribution network with training camps for
road cycling and treking in Spain and Italy.

experience in the fitness industry. Sarah’s

Sports Conference brings many angles of
teaching into the fold. Former UK Fitness Champion and IFBB Pro-Fitness
Athlete following a strong sports background, she is now working towards

UK. Mark is an Elite level Triathlete and has
represented the Great Britain Age Group
Team on 3 occasions where his best finish
was 12th in the world. Mark is the Technical
Director and head coach for Amphibians 2
Triathlon Club where he has coached athletes
from 12 – 71 years old! He also advises and
coaches triathlete’s on a one to one basis.
Mark has also trained with and been coached
by some of the worlds best triathlete’s and coaches during his 12 years in
triathlon and has extensive knowledge of all three disciplines. His passion
for triathlon is second to none and is now competing in the Ironman
Triathlon which gives him an ideal transitional outlook to coaching within the
Spinning® Programme.
Jonny Wilson
Jonathan has been a Spinning® Coach
since 1999, and was the first instructor in
Ireland to attain STAR 3 status before becoming
a Master Instructor in 2004. He has played
competitive team sports for most of his life
including soccer, rugby and hockey, and more
recently races road bikes. Jonathan has been
involved in the fitness industry for 10 years, and
assists his wife in running their own successful
studio in Northern Ireland, specialising in

Sandie Keane
Sandie Keane has a background in
classical dance and has been involved in the
fitness industry since 1990. After qualifying in
Canada at the Original STOTT PILATES centre
she then tutored for Modern Pilates. Sandie
has a unique style when teaching pilates as she
combines her interest of oriental philosophy,
making her approach more ‘Seasonal’. Sandie
has been actively involved in the development
of pilates training courses worldwide. She has
written two books on the subject of pilates for
core strength and pilates with Chi principles. Sandie has been involved with
ChiBall since 1998 and is one of their international presenters.
Emma Backshaw
Emma Backshaw has worked in the
health and fitness industry since 1997 and
she has a wealth of experience in various
fields. These include group exercise, personal
training, pre/postnatal fitness, nutrition and
weight management, yoga, pilates, stress
management and mental health. Emma is
a ChiBall master trainer and presenter. She
is passionate about promoting health and
wellness from both a physical and mental/

Cherry Baker
Cherry Baker must be one of the long
standing and respected presenters in the
UK, involved in the fitness industry for over
30 years! Cherry was awarded Fitness
Instructor of the year award 1994, YMCA
Tutor of the Year 1995, nominee for Fitness
Professional of the Year 2001 and 2003. She
was honoured to win the IFS UK Recognition
Award in 2011. Cherry is a director of Modern

Jill Coleman is the owner of JillFit
Physiques and the Director of Instructor
Training for Metabolic Effect. Jill holds a B.S.
in Health and Exercise Science, an MS in
Human Nutrition and is an ACSM certified
personal trainer. Through both JillFit and
Metabolic Effect, Jill works with many fitness
professionals and those who want to sustain
fat loss and body change. Jill is also a signed
fitness model and spokesperson, having
appeared in several magazines including
4 national covers, as well as appearances in Muscle and Fitness HERS,
SELF Magazine, Family Circle, Fitness Journal and others. Jill is a featured

Dr. Jade Teta
Dr. Jade Teta is an integrative physician
specialising in natural health, fitness and body
transformation. He is the co-author of The
Metabolic Effect Diet. He has a Bachelors of
Science in Bio-Chemistry and a Doctorate in
naturopathic medicine. Dr. Teta has worked
in the fitness and weight loss fields for over
20 years, and is the co developer of the restbased training system for personal training
and group exercise. He is also the co-founder
of the Naturopathic Health Clinic of North
Carolina and of the health, fitness and international fat loss company,
Metabolic Effect. His background in natural medicine, along with his
fitness expertise, has defined his healthcare specialties of hormonal weight

Lincoln Bryden
Lincoln Bryden is the European Master
Trainer for Metabolic Effect and author
of Crack The Weight Loss Code. He has
presented in over 40 different countries, he
was the street dance fitness expert on the Big
Breakfast TV Show on Channel 4, and was the
runner up in the Shape Magazine European
Presenter of the Year 2003. Currently Lincoln
is a lecturer at London Lesiure College, and

A talented dance and fitness presenter
who has worked in the industry for 10 years,
Kt has an in depth knowledge of training and
qualifications. She specialises in teaching
specialist groups and apprenticeship learners,
providing support and guidance for different
communities and age groups. Kt adopts
a unique approach which embraces her
motivational and eclectic style. This is most
apparent in her work as a presenter where
she has an abundance of experience both at
many major fitness conventions and on DVDs and TV. Her highlight of 2012
was performing in the Olympic opening ceremony.

A pilates specialist, Brigitte began
her career in the fitness industry 20 years
ago working as a freelance personal trainer
and aerobics instructor. Understanding the
importance of a holistic approach to exercise
and with a passion for pilates, Brigitte trained

to be an instructor trainer. Brigitte now heads
the team at the UK’s only Licensed Training
Centre in London which won the prestigious
‘LTC Rookie of the Year’ award at the 2012
Community of Excellence conference.

Christine has been actively involved in

of years. She has been associated with the
YMCA for over 20 years and recently Christine

Steve is a ZES for Belgium and
Scandinavia. A stellar career began in Belgium
in 1997 when he was awarded Instructor of
the Year by FFA. Subsequent years saw
him receiving Rookie of the year 2000,
Belgian Fitness Trophy 2002, 2003 EFAA
presenter of the Year and the 2004 Presenter

Donna Giffen
Scottish born Donna Giffen has worked
in musical theatre for the last 13 years as
a singer, dancer and acrobat in the UK
and US. During a spell performing in Los
Angeles she discovered Zumba Fitness,
was instantly hooked and has never looked
back. Donna was recruited as a Zumba
Education Specialist in 2009 and has since
been teaching Instructor Trainings in the UK
and other parts of Europe. She teaches Basic
Instructor Trainings and the ZumbAtomic
Specialty programme.

Naomi Mokoena
Having joined the Zumba ® Fitness
education team in 2007 Naomi has traveled
throughout the world representing the
Zumba® brand. Following her training at
the Accademia Nazionale di Danza (Rome,
Italy) Naomi found Zumba® fitness and was
delighted to be able to share her love for
dance with everyone - making it accessible
to all. Her boundless energy, sincerity and
commitment to ensuring all participants leave
with confidence having had a memorable and
entertaining time, has made Naomi a truly sought after presenter.
Fitness conventions include: Zumba conventions in Orlando, FIBO in
Germany, Rimini Wellness in Italy, Multitrax in the UK as well as the Discovery
and Vuka Vuka conventions in South Africa. Naomi has also choreographed
and been featured on Zumba® Fitness instructional DVDs.
Sirin Ortanca
Sirin Ortanca has been teaching and
educating nationally and internationally for
the past 7 years in a variety of educational
establishments. She started working in the
fitness industry over 9 years ago, and has
taught a wealth of varying group exercise
classes and delivered personal training
sessions. Later in 2008 she decided to come
on board with the Zumba Fitness programme.
In 2010 she became a Zumba Education
Specialist and has since travelled the world
teaching trainings, taking part in conventions and teaching classes. Sirin’s
vibrant energy for fitness, passion for movement, dedication to teaching and
undisguised love for Zumba are definitely felt in every session experienced
with her.
