PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND BIOSCIENCE CLUSTER The Prince Edward Island BioAlliance is the cluster of individuals and organizations dedicated to building the bioscience-based economic sector in PEI, with an emphasis on collaborative initiatives in research, business, education, and supporting infrastructure. Our focus is on bioactive compounds and their application to human, animal, and fish health and nutrition. From the Limited to the Limitless The Prince Edward Island BioAlliance is building on PEI’s existing competencies: successful bioscience businesses; a growing research and development base; technical expertise and resources; natural capital of agri-food, fisheries, marine, and forest resources, and the ability to attract and retain skilled technical and professional human resources within the PEI cluster. Products currently being produced by PEI’s biotech businesses range from pharmaceutical ingredients used in the treatment of diseases, to replacements for antibiotics in animal feeds, fish health vaccines, nutraceuticals and non-pharma health products. Working with the Real Power of Nature Prince Edward Island has always been committed to producing healthy, nurturing products from the land and sea. The technological focus of our bioscience cluster includes: • Technologies and products related to bioactive compounds and their application to human, animal and fish health and nutrition. • Bioproducts, converting biomass to value-added products relating to energy, materials, non-food crops, and products for environmental remediation. Freedom to Achieve Prince Edward Island is a place where you can be your best.
