WELCOME TO
Greetings and welcome to BakingTech!
We’ve prepared a great conference for you this year. Ramon’s
theme of “Growth through Innovation” is evident in every facet of
our meeting and you will see this theme in unexpected ways and
places for two days. As he likes to remind me, those who innovate
move quickly past those who do not. How can something as
simple as flour, water, yeast and salt possibly embody innovation? After all, this basic combination has been nourishing mankind for
literally thousands of years…
Amazing, really. From the start of this program, innovation
abounds. Bill Toler will tell us the compelling story not just of how
Hostess has risen from the ashes, but how true creative thinking
has allowed that organization to thrive. He and his team are taking
a traditional business model and turning it upside down. And
that is just for starters. Sally Lyons Wyatt will build on this and tell
us how the rest of the food industry is trying to differentiate; to
innovate; and stay in front. And to round out day one, Matthew
Wallace from VRSim is going to educate us about the newest
tool that should be in our toolboxes…virtual reality. It’s not just
for fighter pilots, and the concept will change everything we do
from training to troubleshooting; truly this is disruptive innovation.
We’ll have live demos for everyone to try during the conference.
But wait, there’s more!! Innovation is nothing without inspired
leadership. Charles “Chaz” Campbell will educate us about what it
means to drive results through teamwork and how the right teams
foster creative, productive growth. All that and we haven’t even
made it to day two…

SCHEDULE-AT-A-GLANCE
BAKINGTECH 2016!!
As we all know, real innovation often includes taking on some risk.
Did we mention Kat Cole, the former CEO for Cinnabon is joining
us? Her story is powerful, definitely involves high stakes and a
willingness to ask “why not”. Her company is focused in spaces
few of us consider and they are growing. Sounds pretty innovative
to me. Definitely a can’t miss event. And what of “conventional”
innovation; those ideas that help us move the needle within our
current frameworks? Plenty of that here, folks. Everything from
innovations in wheat breeding to oven profiling to water chemistry. The technical depth of our conference is amazing.
In the end, no one can afford to miss a minute of the action.
Participating in this year’s BakingTech will make us better equipped
to compete, grow a great network to rely on and enable us to drive
real innovation in our organizations. Wouldn’t we all rather focus
on growth than worry about who is passing us?
