Historical Museum
The Trenton Historical Museum, located at the corner of St. Joseph and Third
Streets, has been home to Trenton’s rich history for half a century. Former home
of John and Sarah Moore, this Victorian period home contains information on the
history of Trenton and artifacts of the area. In an effort to restore the home to its
former glory, the Trenton Historical Commission has announced the “Puzzle Pieces
for Preservation” fundraising campaign. A 2,000 piece puzzle of the museum has
been created and will be on display throughout the campaign. Puzzle pieces can
be sponsored with a donation of $30 each. The goal is to raise the $60,000 needed
to put the pieces of the Historical Museum back together. Tax deductible contributions may be made to the Trenton Firefighter’s Charities. For more information

The museum is open every Saturday from 1-4 p.m. except January and August. In December, the museum is beautifully decorated for the holiday season. To arrange special tours, call 675-2130.

Emergency Shelter
If emergency events result in enough residents
unable to stay in their homes, shelters will be
open and managed by the city and organizations
in accordance with the City’s Emergency Operations Plan. Location and transportation option
notification will be done by radio, TV, cable TV,
and/or city employees. Let someone know your
plans and bring items such as glasses, medicines,
and quiet games for children. All are welcome.

Trenton City Hall except where noted. We are happy to serve you during business hours, Monday - Friday,
8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Registration dates are clearly defined in the program description. We accept Visa, Master
Card, and Discover credit and debit cards for most transactions. Please note: Due to the popularity of some
programs and events, this registration policy may be modified.

Message Center
What’s up? Check out our Digital Message
Center located in front of the Kennedy
Recreation Center for information on upcoming events. Trenton groups and organizations
can submit a request to have their city event
posted on the marquee. Requests are limited
to 4 postings per group within a calendar year
and must be submitted 2 weeks prior to listing.
Additional requests may be submitted for a
$25 fee per message. No personal messages
will be accepted. Request forms available at the
Recreation Office.
Participants wishing to withdraw from a program must
request a refund prior to the beginning of the second
class. Refunds will not be paid in cash and will take 3 to
4 weeks to process. No refunds or reduction in fees will
be given for classes missed by participant.
Trenton Parks and Recreation reserves the right to cancel any activity due to low enrollment. Every effort will
be made to schedule a make-up class if class is cancelled
due to inclement weather or causes beyond our control.
However, if that is not possible, no partial refund will
be provided. If the Trenton Public Schools are closed
due to weather conditions or mechanical difficulties,
programs scheduled in a school facility are cancelled.
Resident I.D. Cards
Show your card and save! Trenton Parks and Recreation
issues I.D. cards for Trenton resident youth who are
too young to receive a school or state issued I.D. card.
This proof of residency is required to obtain resident
discounted rates at Kennedy Recreation Center. Card is
valid for Trenton Recreation programs only.

Elizabeth Park is the site of the annual Nursery School Olympics on June
6 at 10:30 a.m. This non-competitive event will offer activities such as
kiddy basketball, running long jump and obstacle course, along with diaper
derby and toddler trot. Children under 5 and their parents are welcome.

Fireworks!
If you thought last year’s show was big. . . you’re in for a really BIG BANG! Thanks to the generous sponsorship received from a local business, this year’s 4th of July Fireworks celebration will be
like non-other. Bring your family and friends to Rotary Park and celebrate America’s Birthday with
this amazing evening of entertainment and spectacular fireworks on Wednesday, July 4th! Enjoy

Park. The weekend kicks off with
“A Taste of the Races” Friday, July 20, from
6-9 p.m., followed by live music on the riverfront. Along with the world-class power boat

the river will be rocking once again Saturday
evening with a free live concert. Sponsored

Motorcycle Ride. This year’s event is set for Saturday, June

Jazz on the River
Sounds of cool jazz can be heard in Elizabeth
Park on August 4-5 from noon-9 p.m. Wayne
County Parks will sponsor the annual Jazz on
the River weekend event, featuring well-known
local and national jazz artists. The scenic Detroit
River provides a beautiful background.Bring
your blankets, chairs and share a relaxing time
with friends and experience nature’s harmony.

The outdoor concert and movie series at the
Cultural Center continues this summer, offering
an eclectic line-up of local performing artists and
first run family friendly movies. Come out and

August City Garage Sale
Shed those unwanted items and make a profit. On August 18 & 19 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., throngs of treasure
hunters will invade Trenton seeking those special finds. Register your sale at the Recreation Department.

and Beyond

Somewhere in Time
Don’t miss this culinary festival. The Taste of
Trenton and Beyond returns to Elizabeth Park
as part of the Somewhere in Time Festival on
Sunday, September 16 from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
With the scenic Detroit River as a backdrop, visitors can enjoy an old-fashioned outdoor picnic
by sampling the delicious cuisine prepared by

Turn back the hands of time on Sunday, September
16 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. in historic Elizabeth Park
and recapture the essence of Elizabeth Park, as it

children’s area and more. Reminisce about an era
gone by as you cruise the Detroit River aboard the
“Diamond Belle” Riverboat. Stroll down memory
lane while taking a leisurely walk through automotive
time featuring antique and classic cars dating back to
the Model T. Celebrate this carefree, bygone era. It’s a

Autumn Perennial Exchange
On Saturday, September 22 from 10 a.m.-noon, gardeners can swap their surplus plants with fellow
gardeners at Trenton’s Annual Perennial Plant Exchange. The ground rules are simple, bring the plants you
want to trade clearly marked in plastic bags or pots. Arrive at 10 a.m. sharp! Register on site and start exchanging, trading or bartering and make your best deal! Several master gardeners will be on hand to answer
questions. Don’t miss this opportunity to share gardening tips. Best of all, it’s free!

DTE Community Nite Lite - October 27, 2012
This is the night! The official count, on the number of lit pumpkins, will be announced at 7 p.m. The
Cultural Center grounds will be ablaze with over 1,000 pumpkins! Come on out and see this spectacular sight, enjoy refreshments and even purchase a carved pumpkin! DTE will donate $1 per carved
pumpkin and all proceeds go to First Step Women and Children’s Domestic Violence Center.

Christmas Parade - Saturday, December 1
The Trenton Civic Commission and Parks and Recreation have once again
teamed up to kick-off the holiday season in a big way with the annual
“Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony.” Stroll downtown and
welcome Santa and Mrs. Claus to Trenton. The downtown streets will be all
aglow with hand-held candles illuminating the parade route. The Parade begins at 6 p.m. Following the Tree Lighting Ceremony, all are invited to Trenton City Hall for the Parade afterglow and awards. For info call 675-7300.
Luminary Ornament Sale
Saturday, December 1
The City Beautiful Commission will hold their annual sale at City Hall following the Christmas parade.
Light up your walkways with luminaries and expand
your Trenton ornament collection by purchasing this
year’s 19th edition. Ornaments and luminaries will
also be available at the Treasurer’s office.
Home Decorating Contest
Enter your home in this annual event. Decorating
must be done by the residents of the home. Complete
rules and entry forms are available at City Hall. Entry
deadline is Friday, December 7, 2012. Judging will take
place December 10-22. Certificates for first, second,

A blizzard of 20,000 marshmallows will hit Trenton on Friday, March
29, 2013 at 9 a.m. in Elizabeth Park for the annual Marshmallow
Drop. Once the marshmallows have safely landed, eager children

This instructional program will emphasize developing the

NFL Youth Flag Football & Cheerleading
Grades Pre K – 8th, Presented by: Michigan Youth Flag Football
Michigan’s largest NFL youth flag football and cheerleading organization is now accepting registrations for
the Fall 2012 season. No try-outs! Everyone participates! Games are played on Sundays at Woodhaven High
School, beginning September 9th. Practices are held one day during the week at a local park during the 7
game season. Children will be placed on teams on first-come, first serve basis, according to school and grade.
This is a 5 vs. 5, non-contact, recreational, co-ed format. Teams are limited to 10 players to maximize playing
time. Great for first time players who want to learn the fundamentals of football. Entry fee includes a reversible NFL jersey, flag belt, and individual award. Each cheer team will have a roster of 5 – 15 girls. Cheer
teams are instructed by volunteer parent coaches. Great for beginning cheerleaders - no experience required.

Celebrate the 27th Annual Downriver Senior Olympics,
hosted by Huron Township this year, the week of July 30
- August 3. Opening ceremonies will start at 8:30 am, on
Monday, July 30th, so get yourself registered and experience the fun, fellowship, and friendly competitions of golf,
bowling, baking, card games, and much more! Registration
is open to Downriver residents ages 50 years and older,
and registration forms are available at the Westfield Center.

Bowling League
Belmar Lanes II, on West Road in Trenton, is the site for
Senior Bowling beginning Tuesdays, September 4th, 2012.
This 30-week league takes to the alleys every Tuesday at 1
p.m. Regular bowlers and substitutes are always needed, so
sign up now and join the fun! It’s a great way to socialize and
exercise at the same time. For registration information, please

Nutrition Program
Eating a balanced diet is essential for good health. Wayne County Office
of Nutrition Services, in conjunction with Senior Alliance and volunteers
from Trenton Senior Program, offer a nutrition program for persons 60
years of age or older. All seniors, regardless of income, can take advantage
of this service. The nutrition site is located at the Church of Christ, 2650
Grange, Trenton. Lunch is served Monday through Friday at 11:30 a.m.
Call 676-1848, 24 hours in advance for a reservation. A $2.25 donation is
requested. Hot lunches and emergency frozen meals are also available to
qualified homebound seniors. To register for that service, please call 1-800851-1454. Volunteers are always needed to help pack lunches or to deliver
meals, call 675-0063.

older. The Senior Adult Program operates

Blood Pressure Screening Cancellation Policy
Do you need your blood pressure checked? Nurses
from Henry Ford Hospital will be at Westfield on the
second Thursday of every month from 11 am to 1 pm
to check it for you.
‘AARP’ Tax Assistance
During Income Tax season, trained volunteers from
‘AARP’ are available to help seniors 60 years and older
prepare their tax returns. There is no charge for this
service, but appointments are required. ‘AARP’ is a nonprofit, non-partisan membership organization for people
50 years and older. All ‘AARP’ tax preparation is now
done in the City of Southgate at the Weslyan Ministries
Church at 14250 Reeck Road, in Southgate. For more

Senior Transportation

Whether it’s a trip to the doctor or hospital, or
running errands to the bank or grocery store,
Trenton Transportation, a taxi shuttle service for
Trenton residents 60 years of age or older, will
take you there! Trenton Seniors who are interested in using the shuttle service must register in
advance at the Westfield Center Office located at
2700 Westfield. The service area includes Trenton,
and neighboring communities bounded by Vreeland to the South, Northline Road to the North,
Telegraph to the West, and West Jefferson to the
East. The service is available Monday-Friday, 8
a.m. to 5 p.m, Saturdays from 9 am to 3 pm. The
cost is $2.00 each way, for every drop-off. When
traveling outside the service area, an additional
charge of $1.50 per mile will be assessed. Fees will
be collected at the time of pick-up. (This service
excludes trips to the airport, bus, or train stations.)

When the weather outside is so frightful and the
Trenton Public Schools cancel classes, all Senior
Citizen programs at the Westfield Activities
Center will also be cancelled. The Westfield
Center will remain open, however, for those
residents in need of emergency shelter. The
Westfield Center is also closed on City observed
holidays. Contact the Senior Program Office at
675-0063 for more info.
Loan Closet
Do you have a need for crutches, walkers or
wheelchairs? The City of Trenton provides
such medical equipment on a loan basis to those
who are in need. A nominal deposit and proof
of residency is all we require. Call 675-0063.
All Resident Transportation
Need a lift? SMART offers Trenton residents another
transportation option. The program requires transportation requests be scheduled 2 days in advance and 6
days in advance for medical appointments. Transportation is available 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through
Friday. Call 866-962-5515 for reservations. Boundaries
are limited, no pre-registration is required.
The ‘Loop’ Shuttle Bus
Attention Trenton Seniors! Each Monday and Wednesday, the city’s shuttle bus will pick up Trenton Seniors
and bring them to Westfield to participate in Senior
programs. The shuttle will make a ‘loop’ around town
with stops at the Westfield Center, Kennedy Recreation
Center, Library, and Trafford Square. Free shuttles to
Meijer’s and Super K-Mart on Mondays and Southland
Mall on Wednesdays are also offered. The shuttle is
free and serves Trenton Seniors only. Please call 24
hours in advance for reservation at 734-675-0063.
Adult Social Clubs
Looking to meet new friends? We’ve got the place
for you! For daytime activities and fellowship, join
the Pleasant Hours, Heritage, or New Horizon social
clubs, and keep yourself young at heart. Our clubs
meet Mondays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays in the early
afternoon, depending on the group. Each club offers
a wide range of activities including light luncheons,
bingo, special events, and much more! There is something for everyone. Pleasant Hours and the Heritage
club now accept non-residents. The New Horizon
club is limited to Trenton residents only. Each club
has nominal yearly membership fees, with weekly
dues collected at the door, unless otherwise specified.

Friendship Dance Club

“I could have danced all night!” That’s the word
from Friendship Club members! This active bunch
kicks up their heels on the dance floor every Friday
evening, September through June, at the Westfield
Center. Waltz your way over to join them for fun,
fellowship, and lots of laughs. You won’t even need
a partner, because they do lots of line dances! Special dinner dances are planned throughout the year.
Membership is open to people who are 50 years of
age and older. Nominal yearly membership dues
are collected with a small door charge for regular
dances. Dinner dances also require a pre-purchased
ticket.
‘Friday Nite’ Lites and ‘Sundae Specials’
Do you enjoy an evening out with friends playing a game of Euchre, Pinochle, Bunco, Horse, or Dominoes
with a little light music and dancing and a great meal to go with? Then watch the Senior Tidings calendar, or
visit Westfield to check on the next scheduled ‘Lite’ night or ‘Sundae’ evening. These parties for Seniors are
planned about 4 times throughout the year, and have become a great success, so don’t miss out on the fun!
Computer Lab
Do you need to use a computer? Or would you like
to learn to use one? The Westfield Center has 2 computers available for Seniors to use Monday through
Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. They are installed with
all the basics, Microsoft Word, card games, etc. Stop
in to get connected!
Trenton Travelers
Pack your bags and join the travel fun! From one-day
trips to overnight and weeklong tours, the Trenton
Travelers are always on the go! All persons ages 50
years and up are welcome. For a description of tours

The ‘Pleasant Hours’ Senior Club is once again sponsoring their yearly Attic and Garage Sale, on Saturday,

Deep Water Exercise Youth Swim Lessons
Increase fitness and well being in this new water exercise program. Conducted in water over
6 feet deep, this class will provide increased
mobility, and stronger bodies. Approved floatation belts will be welcome (and noodles will

proper movement. This is the ultimate in nonstress exercise. The water provides safety for
all joints and great aerobic and weight-bearing

Dog Days of Summer Swim

The Kennedy Pool has officially “Gone to the Dogs,” for one day
that is! On Saturday, September 8, 2012, the Kennedy Aquatic
Center will open its doors again to man’s best friend. Bring your
favorite four-legged pal for a dip in the pool from noon-3 p.m.
There will be pet contests, treats and more! Pet friendly vendors
will be on hand beginning at 11 a.m. to share their canine wares.
So come early! Dogs must be licensed and vaccinated and owners
must be prepared for clean-up duty.

Summer Swimming Instruction
Jump in and learn to swim this summer in a safe and friendly environment! Our trained staff will teach swimmers 5 years or older of
all levels, according to the standards set by the American Red Cross.
The goal of the program is to improve your child’s swimming skills,
and boost your child’s self-confidence, as well. For clarification on
the skills required for each level, contact the Recreation Department.

Acquainting your child with the water in a safe and relaxing atmosphere. Our instructor will help you teach

Deep Water Exercise
Increase fitness and well-being in this new water exercise program. Conducted in water over 6 feet deep, this

in non-stress exercise. The water provides safety for all joints, a great aerobic workout, and weight-bearing

Let your feet do the walking - in the water! This popular,
innovative program is designed for all ages. Our USWFA
certified instructor, Debbie Barnes, will literally, walk you
through, step by step, to gain the most from your walking
workout. The hour-long program is conducted in waistdeep water, requiring no swimming abilities. As with any
fitness program, our instructor will tailor the program to
your fitness level. It’s a refreshing way to get fit!

This non-stressful shallow water exercise program will increase your cardiovascular endurance,

Summer Swim Club
Attention all swimmers, novice, intermediate and
advanced, ages 6-18! The Trenton Swim Club is for
you! The only requirement is to swim one length
of the 25-yard pool. Master that, and you’re on
your way to learning all four competitive strokes
from our experienced coaches. Weekly swim meets
will give swimmers a chance to showcase their
developing skills and challenge their abilities. Swimmers will be placed in the appropriate skill level during the indoor session. This program will not only

Are you interested in training hard or qualifying for
your high school or college conference finals? If you
can answer yes, you need to look no further than the
Trenton Swim Club Development Training Program.
Swimmers will have the opportunity to train up to 9
times per week, obtain a USS card, attend a minimum of two meets (one is a USS LC State Meet).
Swimmers must have their own equipment including:
paddles, pull buoy, short fins, kick board and large
mesh bag to carry equipment. This is an advanced
program that is offered to any Downriver or Western
Wayne County swimmer. Cost includes coaching

High School Hockey
The Trenton “Trojans”, along with the Riverview
“Pirates”, Gibraltar Carlson “Marauders” and
the Grosse Ile “Red Devils” hockey teams call
Kennedy Recreation Center home. The season
kicks off at the end of November. Game tickets
available at the schools and at the door.
Drop-in Hockey
Improve your ice hockey skills during Drop-in
Hockey. Both adult and youth sessions are offered at various times during the season. All players must wear “full equipment.” For dates, times

USFSA Skating Lessons
Trenton’s Figure Skating Program is now affiliated with the United States Figure Skating
Association. The teaching methods and standards
used by our USFSA certified staff will be based
upon the USFSA basic skills program, bringing
our program in line with the nationally recognized skating standards. Group lessons for boys,
girls and adults, ages 3 and up, will teach the basic
fundamentals of ice skating for both hockey and
figure skaters. Six-week sessions will be held.
Synchronized skating teams will practice on
Sundays. An annual $10 USFSA individual membership fee, which includes a USFSA membership kit, will be assessed per skater with the first
registration of the season. Skaters who participate
in the 2nd session can take part in the Ice Show.
Fall sessions begin in September. Contact the
Recreation Department in August for class fees
and times.
Freestyle Practice
This is a great opportunity for figure skaters to
get some extra practice in. Private coaches may
work with individuals or you can work on your
own as try to improve all your jumps. Each session is limited to 25 skaters. Cost is $10 per skater
per hour. Check in online or at the arena for the
latest schedule.
Senior Drop-in Skate
Skate the day away! Come on in to the Kennedy
Recreation Center to skate Tuesdays and Thursday mornings. Bring your skates or rent a pair.

Adult Hockey League
Adult Hockey is the fastest growing sport in
South Eastern Michigan, are you part of it? There
are opportunities for all skill and competition
levels. Michigan Sports Enterprises will offer
Fall/Winter, Spring and Summer Leagues. There
is also Adult learn to Play classes available as well.

Trenton Hockey Association
The Trenton Hockey Association offers boys and girls an
opportunity to play both house and travel hockey at the Kennedy Recreation Center. THA has a long-standing tradition
for developing fundamentally sound hockey players. THA is a
volunteer-based association. Coaches and board members are
always needed. Youth, between the ages of 4-18 (as of December 31, 2012), are eligible. Registration for the 2012-2013

The City of Trenton has once again partnered with the
Michigan Interscholastic High School Hockey League to
provide the largest High School Hockey Display in Michigan. The top 40 teams from the State of Michigan and
beyond are on display for all to view over one weekend of
fun and excitement. Local teams Trenton, Grosse Ile and
Riverview participated in last years events with teams as
far away as Marquette. There are many opportunities to
help these students and the City of Trenton, volunteering
and sponsor opportunities are available by calling 734676-7172.

Chair Yoga
Interested in experiencing the many benefits of
yoga, but cannot easily sit on the floor? Certified
Yoga Instructor, Marie Corless, will teach you to
relax, breathe deeply, become more flexible, and
get a total body workout through yoga techniques with the help of a chair. The chair will
be used to sit on, for balance when standing, and
to occasionally help get onto and up from the

Tai Chi Easy
Tai Chi Easy was created by reviewing the most
popular and beneficial forms of traditional Tai Chi
to come up with a set of practices that are easy to
teach and learn. Each 60 minute class will include
gentle movement along with breathing exercises,
self-applied massage, and relaxation methods. The
compilation of practices is the Vitality Enhancement method. Tai Chi Easy helps reduce stress,

Boat Launch Information
The City of Trenton has entered an agreement with Wayne County to manage and operate the Elizabeth Park Marina and Boat Launch facility. This one-year contract was effective January 2012. The
Parks and Recreation Department, responsibile for overseeing the operation, is committed to providing excellent service and a seemless transition for area boaters.
The Detroit River offers some of Michigan's finest fishing and Elizabeth Park Marina puts you right in
the action. Elizabeth Park Marina and Boat Launch provides four launching, four loading wells and
a 52-slip mooring facility. The facility has utility hookup, pump station and new shower facility. This

with the DNR, this course is open to persons of all ages,
but is required for students age 12-17 who want to operate a snowmobile without direct adult supervision. To earn
your certificate, students must attend the entire class, pass
a written exam and be 12 years of age or older. Classes are
taught by a State certified instructor. For class dates and

Connection has teamed-up with Trenton P & R to offer a
free demo kayak day. Riverside Kayak’s friendly, knowledgeable staff will be on hand to guide you through the process

The Detroit River International Wildlife
Refuge (IWR) is located along the lower
Detroit River and western shoreline of Lake
Erie. The refuge, part of the National Wildlife Refuge System and managed by the
U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, is one of over
540 national wildlife refuges.
It was established in 2001 as the first
International Wildlife Refuge in North
America. The refuge includes islands,
coastal wetlands, marshes, shoals, and waterfront lands along 48 miles of shoreline.
Its location is unique, situated in a major
metropolitan area.
The refuge obtained the Humbug complex, made up of Humbug Island, Humbug
Marsh, and adjacent undeveloped upland
habitats, in 2004. It includes 410 acres of
unique fish and wildlife habitats in Trenton
and Gibraltar, Michigan. Humbug Marsh
represents the last mile of natural shoreline
on the U.S. mainland of the Detroit River.
Because the wetlands of the Humbug
complex are home to such a high diversity
of fish and wildlife, it has been identified
as Michigan’s only “wetland of international importance” under the international
Ramsar Convention - nothing like it exists
anywhere outside the Great Lakes. For info

Transfer Station Recycling Center
The City’s Transfer Station at 1801 Van Horn Rd. is available free of
charge for Trenton residents who wish to dispose of residential rubbish
only. Yard waste, newspaper, magazines, plastic containers, empty clear
glass, tin, cardboard, paperboard, aluminum cans, phone books and used
motor oil will be accepted for recycling. Trenton businesses, apartment
owners and Trenton contractors may use the Transfer Station but will
be assessed a charge of $35 per cubic yard with a $75 minimum charge.
Proof of residency is required. Please note that refrigerators, freezers, air
conditioners, dehumidifiers and tires cannot be disposed of by residents at
the Transfer Station. Call for a special pick-up to dispose of these items.
It is a violation of ordinance 74-49 to allow a non-resident to gain access
to the Transfer Station using a resident’s identification. Hours are Tuesday
through Saturday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Call 675-8470.
Yard Waste Recycling
Curbside collection of yard waste begins in Mid-April and continues thru
Thanksgiving, depending on weather. State & Federal regulations prohibit
disposal of yard waste in regular trash. Curbside pickup of yard waste on
your trash day will only be available by utilizing the “Yard Waste” carts that
may be purchased at the D.P.S. office for $75.00 (Cash or check). Neighbors may consider sharing a yard waste cart.
Brush & Leaf Collection
Thursday is city-wide brush collection day. A $10 fee will be billed for each
stop. Please separate brush from other debris and locate it away from
overhead obstructions such as wires, trees, etc. Smaller quantities of brush
and leaves can be included with your regular “Yard Waste” collection.
Curbside leaf collection begins in October and ends in mid-December,
weather permitting. Leaves collected at other times will result in a loader
pick-up fee of $35 per cubic yard. Call 675-5496.
Automated Trash Collection
Trenton has modernized residential trash collection. Each residence was provided one (1) brown 95 gallon trash cart for household trash. Additional carts
can be purchased at the D.P.S. office(1431 West Rd.) for $75.00 cash or check.
Containers are identified with a serial number that is recorded as assigned to
the residence.
Residential Rubbish Collection Rules
Set household rubbish at the curb (front pickup) in 95 gallon carts or at the
edge of the alley (rear pickup) at sundown on the eve of the collection day or
before 7 a.m. on the scheduled day. Remove containers the same day according to City Municipal Code (Art. II Sec.74-39)

trash. They can be dropped off at the fire stations.
Holiday Rubbish Collection
Rubbish will be collected one day later than normal and into Saturday of the
holiday week as necessary. The affected holidays for 2012/2013 will include:
Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving. Normal rubbish collection will take place during Christmas and New Years week. President’s Day and Veteran’s Day will not have any change in weekly schedules.

• City Parks are open to the public from 6 a.m.-10 p.m. Only persons receiving special permission from Trenton
City Council may remain in park after hours.
• Motor vehicles are permitted in designated parking areas only. Vehicles in unauthorized areas will be removed
and/or impounded by Trenton Police.
• Dogs must be on a leash not more than 6 ft. in length.
• City ordinance prohibits interfering with animals or nests in City Parks, engaging in sports, games etc. in other
than designated areas, offering articles for sale in City Parks, littering on public or private property, and riding
horses, mules or ponies in City Parks.
• Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in City Parks unless a permit has been issued upon written request.
