Chapter 20 is all about oil, oil tanks, oil filters kits, oil coolers and
other oil related products. Oil is one of the most essential products
for the engine of your motorcycle. A bad carburetor or a bad ignition
will make your engine perform poorly but anything wrong with the
oil or oil transport it will destroy your engine. This means that when
it comes to oil or oil related product Zodiac will only supply the
highest quality oils. Oil from Spectro is one of those high quality
products. Spectro Oil is specially formulated to withstand the
highest demand of any Harley-Davidson or any aftermarket
American V-Twin. It meets the latest Harley-Davidson specifications,

CHROME OIL TANK FOR 4 SPEED BIG TWINS
An exact reproduction of the Original Equipment 4 Speed Big Twin
oil tank for all FX and FL models from 1965 thru 1986. It features triple
chrome plating and is inspected and cleaned before shipment. Fitted
with the pre-1982 large diameter filler opening, the tank will accept
the “in-tank" style oil filter. The side filler/dipstick location makes it
possible to add oil or check the level without removing the seat.

CHROME PLATED OIL TANK FOR FXR’S
Beautiful, triple chrome plated oil tank for 1982 thru 1994 FXR models
(except 1986 up Super Glide models). Included with the tank is a
remote drain hose fitting kit which allows it to be drained from the
kickstand side through a rubber hose. When the hose is not in use it
plugs onto a dummy fitting. Hose, clamps and dummy fitting are
included in the kit (OEM 62406-81/86 and 62414-86).

"WINGED" OIL TANK FOR SOFTAIL MODELS
This oil tank improves the styling of the Softail models from 1989 thru
1999 because it features “wings" to its backside to close the gap
between the oil tank and the frame. It also features flawless chrome
plating and a chrome filler cap. Comes complete with fittings. Fits all
1989 thru 1999 Softail models as well as our Pro-Street frame when
the correct brackets are used.

These wrap around Stainless Steel oil tanks are the ultimate oil tanks
for Softail models. Manufactured from high quality 304 Stainless
Steel with a beautiful mirror polished finish that looks better than
chrome plating. For a very clean custom look, these side fill oil tanks
are welded together using 316 Stainless steel rods. This allows the
welds to be ground and polished to the same perfection as the tank

BULLSEYE STAINLESS STEEL OIL TANKS
These handcrafted "DaVincie Motors" oil tanks are one of the hottest
items in the custom scene today.Tanks are made from stainless steel
and use a 10 mm (more than 3/8") thick safety glass on either one
or both sided. Total length is 10" (25 cm), with a diameter of 5 1/2"
(14 cm) gives it a capacity of 2.5 ltr. The tank mounts with three
5/16" - 18 rubber blocks, such as our ZPN 358211 or similar. Uses

CRIME SCENE CHOPPERS VENDETTA OIL TANK
Crime Scene Choppers' Vendetta oval oil tank is the epitome or radical
retro. Its styling matches the Vendetta oil filter. The Vendetta is an oil
tank that has some very unique features. The tank mounts using two
stainless straps, and can be oriented either horizontally under your
seat or as a vertical side mount tank the way you've seen Chica build
them.The Vendetta tank comes complete with stainless mount straps,
rubber channels, fittings, fill cap and mount bars. It is cast from
aluminum and is approx. 11 1/2" (29 cm) wide, 3" (7.5 cm) tall and
6" (15 cm) deep. Tank holds approx. 2.5 quarts (2.37 liter) of oil.

TIME OIL TANK
Another original design from Crime Scene
Choppers is this Hard-Time Oil Tank. It
features deep cooling fins on the ends. The
tank holds 4 1/2 quarts (4.26 liter), utilizes
a stock Harley drop-in filter element and
features internal vent and return lines for an
ultra-clean installation. The tank has a fine
satin finish with highlight polished fins.
Tanks come complete with a filter and cap,
mounts, fill cap, magnetic drain plug, hose
fittings and all other hardware. Measures
6" (15.2 cm) in diameter and is 11 1/2"
(29 cm) long.

resistant. Add corrosion and fire resistant
braided stainless steel covering and you end
up with an aircraft quality oil line. This
braided oil line is not only the strongest on
the market it also is the best looking on the

protection against abrasion and fire. Line
has an 8.5 mm (0.323") inner, and 11 mm
(0.439") outer diameter. It’s clean looks
make it ideal for use on motorcycles, and
Goodridge’s unique swivel-style oil line
connectors make installation easier and
cleaner than ever before, allowing you to
create a reliable and extremely good looking
oil line circuit. Lines can be made in any

DIAMOND-LITE EZ-FLEX OIL &
FUEL LINE
Diamond-Lite push on hose is an attractive
alternative to basic black oil & fuel hose. It is
a lightweight and extremely flexible nonabrasive line, meant for low to medium duty
(100 PSI maxi.) applications and has an
operating temperature range over
250 degrees Fahrenheit (120 Celsius). The
SAE30R7 rubber smooth bore inner core is
rated for oil, fuel and emission lines. The
exterior is a PET Monofilament that is tightly
braided for maximum hose protection.
Diamond-Lite is amazingly easy to assemble,
just cut to length with a pair of heavy-duty
scissors, add a clamp housing, push onto the
barb, and tighten the clamp. Diamond-Lite is
available in black with your choice of a Yellow,
Blue or Red diamond pattern tracer and three
inner diameters to choose from, 1/4” (6 mm),
5/16” (8 mm) and 3/8” (9.5 mm). Sold in
lengths of 1 meter, 5 meters and 10 meters.

DETACHABLE OIL LINES AND OIL
LINE KITS
These DETACHABLE oil lines are extremeley
flexible hoses with a high resistance to
kinking.As you know from your garden hose
no water will come out when you have got
a kink there, imagine what will happen to
your engine when you don't get any oil to it!
Lines are attached and locked by inserting
the connector sleeve into the line and than
pushing the line into the connector.
Disconnecting is almost as easy, with the
exception that you have to press the hose
flange and than pull the line out. These oil
lines are available in thru and thru colored
PU, or PU covered with a bright shining
stainless steel braid. Note that the oil pump
and engine connectors are specific for use
with the PU oil line or for use with the
braided stainless steel line. Braided stainless
steel oil lines are available as kits of 3 oil
lines for most Big Twin models. Kits for single
cam Big-Twins come complete with engine
oil line connectors, you will have to order
the required oil tank fittings separately. Kits
for Twin Cam models have the oil tank
adapters installed, for this application you
have to order the engine adapters
separately. For custom applications we have
individual engine connectors, as well as sets
with 3 braided stainless steel oil lines of the
same length, or thru and thru colored PU oil
line in lengths of 2 meters available. Oil line
and fittings are made by one of Europe's
leading automotive hose suppliers.

ALUMINUM OIL DRAIN VALVES
These drain valves are made from
6061 aluminum that has been heat treated
to T6, and are available in two different
finishes, satin aluminum or black anodized.
They permanently replace your stock drain
plug and will fit all Original Equipment or
aftermarket oil tanks with 5/8"-18 threads,
dramatically simplifying the job of changing
your oil. You simply attach a piece of 1/2"
(12.7 mm) inside diameter hose to the
spigot which you then turn counterclockwise with a wrench until oil starts to
flow into your catch pan. After the flow has
stopped, turn the spigot clockwise until it is
seated and remove the hose. It doesn’t get
much simpler.

Oil Filters
S&S OIL FILTERS
S&S oil filters are constructed in a sturdy steel canister, which houses
the finest filtering media and internal components available. The
canister is slightly smaller in diameter than stock filters to make them
easier to remove and install. S&S filters are designed with a direct
bypass valve that routes bypass oil directly to the filter exit. Direct
bypass minimizes the amount of contaminants carried to the engine
in the unfiltered bypass oil since the oil is not allowed to pick up
contaminants by flowing over the "dirty" side of the filter media, as
it is in some competitive filters. The filter media used in S&S oil filters
has been selected to trap the smallest possible particles while
maintaining the lowest restriction to oil flow. The nominal particle
capture size is smaller than that of stock filters while the resistance
to oil flow is nearly the same. The most important thing you can do
to maximize the life of your engine is to keep your oil clean. Your
motor oil picks up friction wear particles and combustion by-products.
Regular oil changes are essential to keep contaminants from
accumulating, but from one oil change to the next, your oil filter is
your first line of defense against these wear causing particles. S&S
filters are available in black or chrome finish for use on Evolution
style as well as Twin Cam style engines.

S&S OIL FILTER MOUNT
This billet oil filter mounting bracket can solve a common problem for
engine builders and custom bike builders alike. It fits any generator
engine with 5/16" generator mounting holes, and it replaces the hard
to find oil filter bracket for 1986-1990 Harley-Davidson Sportster
models.This part is needed for any engine build with S&S crankcases
for Sportster or Buell motorcycles, including the S&S SB-Series engines.
On a generator style Big Twin engine the filter bracket bolts to the
generator mounting pad in place of the generator. This is a must for
alternator/generator engines that use an alternator charging system,
or straight generator engines with magneto ignitions and no charging
system. The oil filter bracket seals off the cam chest and provides a
convenient place too for a spin on oil filter. The bracket is machined
for easy routing of an oil cooler in all applications, and accepts the
stock oil pressure sending switch on Sportster models.

S&S BILLET OIL FILTER BRACKET KIT FOR TWIN CAM
Machined from solid billet aluminum and designed for use on the
124CI Twin Cam Style engines from S&S. Also make a great cosmetic
and functional upgrade for engines build with stock Twin Cam
88 crankcases.These filter brackets have some advantages compared
to stock brackets. First of all there are no voids or other casting defects
in the material to cause leaks. Secondly, the position of the filter has
been shifted slightly to create additional clearance between filter
body and the crankcase. This results in easier filter installation and
removal. In third place, each filter bracket is machined to adopt an
oil cooler in the pressure side of the system.An oil cooler is especially
useful for Big Inch applications, but is also a great idea when towing
a trailer or just riding in hot weather conditions. Kit comes complete
with O-rings, pipe plugs, hose fittings, and all necessary mounting
hardware. For applications without oil coolers, simply install the pipe
plugs in the threaded holes of the filter bracket, instead of the hose

3 different styles of oil filter brackets, the
first 2 are to be mounted on the kicker cover
of a 4 Speed transmission with your choice
of filter on the front wheel side, or on the
rear wheel side. Mounting these kits requires
removal of 3 studs from the transmission
case and replacing these with the included
bolts and spacers. The third kit can be used
on all models, including Softails, which do
not have the regulator mounted between
the front down tubes. This kit allows you to
have the filter facing forward in front of the
crankcase. Installation of this kit requires
removal of the engine mounting screws and

Pro-Flow Performance Products has
developed these two oil pressure regulator,
filter and gauge assemblies for use on all
special High-Performance applications.They
come with a 0-160 psi gauge and are true
pressure regulators, not a “by-pass" or
“pill" block. It will maintain the set oil
pressure over the entire rpm range of the
engine. Hook-up is quick with only a line
from the oil-pump, a pressure regulated line

SPECTRO’S "GOLDEN AMERICAN" DOT 5 BRAKE
FLUID
A superior synthetic brake fluid, which exceeds DOT 5 specifications.It
virtually does not absorb water and as a result it prohibits brake
system corrosion. Many brake fluids deteriorate over the years due
to water absorption and chemical degradation.. Golden American
DOT 5 brake fluid does not, it retains it’s high boiling point over the
years since it is non-hygroscopic, chemically stable and is essentially
inert to system components.

Heavy-Duty chain lube for the demands of
