What is driving the future? The Research Association for Combustion Engines
(FVV) eV was founded in 1956. We would like to take the opportunity of our 60th
anniversary to take a look into the future of the internal combustion engine. We
will talk with our members and network partners about policies and issues that
may fundamentally change the engine and turbomachinery research programmes
in the future: Innovation policy and competition – new operational strategies and
related technologies – impact of development or funding programmes on research
and academic careers – for the world of tomorrow.

The fortress Mark is one of the last witnesses of the once largest Prussian stronghold Magdeburg.
Where in the 19th century soldiers were at home, arts & culture have moved in today. The former
canon passages and casemates now host a lively culture and conference center close to the Elbe
and right in the heart of Magdeburg city center. Mighty eleven meter high vaults, mysterious
alcoves and a large courtyard at the 500-year-old city wall of the 1,200 year old town form the
atmospheric setting for the evening event of the FVV 2016 Autumn Conference.
