TECHNICAL GUIDE (SEE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALL)
1. Read through all Instructions Prior to Assembly.
2. Instructions Reflect ‘typical’ configurations and may not match your specific
configuration.
3. Two people are required to perform this installation, to prevent product damage.
4. Caution must be taken to use correct fasteners to prevent top damage depth of
fastener should never exceed 1.0” deep.
5. If you ordered a conference Table Configuration your tops should be grain matched in
conference mode.
Congratulations on your purchase of the Discovery Table, we hope that these instructions will
aid in the assembly and function of your Discovery Table.
Table in Conference Configuration
The Discovery Table may be comprised of multiple pieces of Ender and Center Tables that are ganged
together to function as a Conference Table. Yet can be separated into individual tables for use in multiple
configurations.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1. REMOVING INSTALLED HARDWARE FROM ENDER ONLY
1. Removal of Ganging Connector is required (Ender Table Only) Prior to
Installation of the Leg Base and hider panel. The ganging Connectors
will need to be removed from the Ender Top by removing installed
screws.
2. The colored Stickers can be used to re-assemble gang connectors in
proper position after leg panel base assembly.
3. The hider panel will need to be removed from the (Ender Table Only)
top Prior to Leg base Installation.

STEP 2. INSTALLING BASES AND MODESTY TO TABLE TOPS
4. Install One Leg Base (Fig 3a Ender and 4a Center) on to the table top
using the Fasteners called out in the table above(do not tighten). Make
sure the cam pins and dowel holes on the leg bases are facing to the
inside of the table top. Refer to Figure 7a for Ender Table fastener
placement, and 8a for Center Table fastener placement. Use the Cut
stickers as alignment for the gang connector assembly to the
top(alignment is necessary for table function).

5. While the second person is holding the other Leg Base in place. Align
Modesty Panel (Fig 5a for Ender) and (Figure 6a for Center) to the cam
pins and dowel holes. Insert dowels and cam pints then tighten rafix
cam connections. Install modesty connection bracket between support
and table top.

STEP 3. RE-INSTALLING HARDWARE
6. Install gang connectors onto table top. Line up stickers on gang
connector with stickers on the top. Be sure to fully tighten machine
screws until secure after gang connector installation.

STEP 5. CHECKING ALIGNMENT
8. Finish installing all fasteners into the remaining holes (Loosely), Check
offset and function of pivoting base. If base is pivoting correctly and all
base edges are offset to minimize inconsistent gaps, secure all fasteners.

10. If adjustments are required, loosen fasteners that secure the leg base
assembly to the table and re-adjust as needed. Then re-secure all
fasteners that hold base/modesty assembly to the table. If Tops do not
line up properly, Individual ganging connectors can be loosened and readjusted in the conference configuration for minor adjustments.
11. Check all fasteners to assure all fasteners are tightly secured.
STEP 7. INSTALL ANCILLARY HARDWARE

Connecting Tables:
Step 1: Arrange tables in desired configuration. Align edges of tables to each other.
Step 2: Locate ganging device on underside of table. Be sure the ratchet switch if
flipped to the left. Push in the spring-loaded ganging device and turn clockwise to
engage in the locking mechanism. Turn until tight. Rotate the ratchet handle up
against the underside of the table top (it may be necessary to flip the ratchet switch).
Disconnecting Tables:
Step 1: Locate ganging devices on underside of table. Be sure the ratchet switch is
flipped to the right. Turn counter-clockwise until the spring-loaded ratchet releases
from the adjacent table.
Step 2: Rotate the ratchet handle up against the underside of the table top so the
magnet holds it securely.

DISCOVERY TABLE CONNECTION INSTRUCTIONS – with Pivoting Base
Connecting Tables:
Step 1: Arrange tables in desired configuration. Align edges of tables to each other.
Step 2: Locate ganging device on underside of table. Be sure the ratchet switch if
flipped to the left. Push in the spring-loaded ganging device and turn clockwise to
engage in the locking mechanism. Turn until tight. Rotate the ratchet handle up

Step 3: Locate finger latch on outer side of panel base. Depress latch and rotate
base inward until it engages.
Disconnecting Tables:
Step 1: Depress finger latch on upper corner of each panel base. Rotate each base
outward until it engages.
Step 2: Locate ganging devices on underside of table. Be sure the ratchet switch is
flipped to the right. Turn counter-clockwise until the spring-loaded ratchet releases
from the adjacent table.
Step 3: Rotate the ratchet handle up against the underside of the table top so the
magnet holds it securely.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
SHIPPING CASTER REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS
* NOTE ALL SHPPING CASTERS THAT HAVE A WHITE PAINT MARK ON
THEM MUST BE REPLACED AFTER THE TABLE IS ARE IN THE END USERS
ROOM FOR INSTALLATION. CHANGING THE CASTERS SHOULD OCCUR
JUST PRIOR TO TABLE SETUP *
REMOVAL OF SHIPPING CASTERS
Step 1: Carefully place the table on its top on a clean soft
surface (such as a furniture pad) verify that the surface is
free of any debris or hardware that could damage the
tabletop work surface.
Step 2: Squeeze the puller and insert the small bent tabs
into the openings on the caster cap, and release the puller
Step 3: Put four fingers in the puller to expand it against
the sides of the casters while pulling and twisting out the
casters..
Step 4: The caster should break loose from the friction fit
retainer without having to remove any fasteners. This will
occur with a pulling and/or twisting motion.

INSTALLATION OF NEW CASTERS
Step 5: Insert the replacement caster into the same pocket.
Step 6: Push the new caster down by hand on the outside
perimeter of the caster ring. It is not necessary to pound
the caster in with a hammer. A direct hammer blow to the
caster ball will ruin the caster (Do Not Strike the Caster
Ball with any hard object).
Step 7: Caster should be seated at a depth that matches up
to the other casters (for that base style). Please reference
other installed casters for depth from the surface of the
metal for installation. (approx. 0.270 inches).

CASTER TESTING INSTRUCTIONS (PLASTIC CASTERS ONLY)
Step 1: Carefully place the table on its top on a clean soft surface (such as a furniture
pad) verify that the surface is free of any debris or hardware that could damage the
tabletop work surface.
Step 2:Set the tabs of the gauge on the caster cap. Make sure the gauge is upright and not
on a slant or on its side.
Step 3: Pass the curve across the wheel while keeping the tabs firmly placed against the
caster cap. If the curve passes over the wheel without touching, the caster has failed and
should be replaced. If the curve touches the wheel as it passes over, the caster has not
failed and does not need to be replaced.

TROUBLESHOOTING SECTION
1. My Ender base won’t pivot
a. Check to make sure the gang connector is properly ganged to the
adjacent table prior to attempting to pivot ender base. The
safety may be blocking the path of the pivoting base if the gang
connector is not engaged to the adjacent table.
b. Check to see if the Ender base will pivot when it is not screwed to
the table. If so You may need to loosen screws and re-tighten to
prevent any binding on the pivoting components.
c. Part Damage to the assembly – There may be shipping and
handling damage to your assembly that would prevent the base
from pivoting.
2. My gang connector won’t retract and protrudes base the edge of the
table top when not in use.
a. It may be necessary to tap the end of the gang connector rod with
a plastic or other non marring object to free the gang connector
to return to its home position. It is possible for the gang
connector to ‘hang up’ in the extended position due excessive oring compression or other factors.
3. My Gang connector will not engage with the adjacent table
a. Caster Damage – Casters can get damaged causing the table
heights to be significantly off. This will make it difficult to
engage the adjacent table when ganging the table together. If
you notice a difference in the table heights, and your table is
equipped with plastic casters, you can request a free conversion
kit to more robust metal casters.
b. Bushing binding the Rod – It is possible that the bushing in the
gang connector assembly is too loose causing the rod and bushing
interface to bind.
4. There are excessive gaps in the table seams –
a. Gang connector engagement sloppy – By loosening the screws (one
at a time) on either the male or female connector and pulling it
backward (away from each other) with a loose engagement then
re-tighten screws this will tighten the joint on the table.
5. My Table Grain does not match –
a. The tables may be in the wrong position. Please refer to the user
manual regarding the number system under the table tops to rematch your grain.

Installation of Spring Adapter
1. Remove the ¼”-20 phillips head screw that retains the ratchet on the
gang connector. This part will no longer be needed.
2. Install the new adapter with a spring around the diameter of the part in
its place (see picture below).
3. Install adapter and spring and retain with supplied ¼” -20 button head
screw that is supplied in the kit. Tighten while applying pressure.
4. Check to make sure the wrench can be pulled back and will spin under
spring pressure. If the wrench cannot be pulled back loosen (do not
remove) the retaining screw and pull the wrench back, then re-tighten
the retaining screw and release the wrench.
5. It is not necessary to un-gang the assembly to change out the adapter
and screw.

Installation of Modesty Bracket on Center Table
1. Locate Bracket so it is .5 inches from the bottom edge of the modesty
panel.
2. Pre-drill holes for wood screws 1.5” deep in all three locations where
the modesty bracket will attach to the base. Pre-Drill with a drill bit no
larger than .125” diam. on the base and no deeper than 1.5”. Do not
pre drill the modesty panel more than .5” deep.
3. Install long #10 x 1.75” wood screws into the base locations (3 per
bracket)
4. Pre-drill the modesty panel with no larger than .125” diam. Drill bit and
no deeper than .500 inches. Install shorter #10 x .75” long wood screws
into modesty panel (3 per bracket)
5. Repeat for the other side so there are two brackets installed per table.
One bracket should be installed per each base.

Caster replacement upgrade
*If your table is installed on a wood floor this upgrade is not recommended
1. Roll Table top onto a clean, dry surface free of any debris that could
damage the table top. It is best to utilize spacers for this especially if
your table is has a power option on the work surface. Ensure your
spacers or floor that the top is rolled on to is covered with clean carpet,
microfilm or furniture pad.
*Nucraft Furniture is not responsible for any damage incurred by improper handling. Tops are grain matched
and to replace one damaged work surface will require a replacement of all work surfaces.
2. Remove existing casters by inserting the caster removal tool and turning
counter clockwise to unthread the caster retainer from the table base.
In the event that the caster comes apart during attempted removal a
pliers will be necessary to pull the caster shell free from the retainer.
The caster is a friction fit to the retainer.

3. If the caster retainer which is held in place with 3/8”-16 thread does not
come out by unthreading the caster. I will be necessary to use pliers
and grab the edge of the caster retainer and turn it counter clockwise to
disengage the thread from the base. (Note: the exposed screw will not
remove the retainer from the base).

4. When both the existing caster and caster retainer are removed from the
base it is then possible to install the Caster interface part. It may be
necessary to loosen (not remove) the screws that retain the metal plate
if the caster interface part does not go into the pocket. Be sure to retighten the metal plate screws after installing the interface part.
5. After placing the caster interface part into the pocket, thread the 3/8”16 x 2” bolt to retain the caster interface part. The head of the bolt
should be flush or below the pocket surface that the caster will fit into.
6. Insert new caster into caster interface part and attach using the three
wood screws provided.
7. It is recommended that any other work required to the table such as
modesty bracket installation or gang connector adapter installation, be
done while it is on the face. Prior to rolling the Table back into its
upright position.
8. After caster installation all tops should be at the same overall height
*with the exception of an uneven floor. If this is not the case it may be
difficult to gang the table together and you should contact your
customer service rep for technical assistance.
