At the moment, Debbie and I are still on the road
touring the beautiful Canadian province of British
Columbia. We have taken this opportunity to extend our trip from the Curve Cowboy Reunion in
P3
2013 TCD Vintage
Day
President’s Column Bend, Oregon to revisit the Oregon coast and finally
make it to Vancouver Island and the provincial capiTCD Events Calendar P 4
tal of Victoria. Both the island and its main city are well worth the efforts to get
BMW Motorcycles of P5 there. There are lots of great roads and tons of beautiful scenery. We really enSE Michigan Octojoy this part of the world (see some of beautiful pictures from our trip on page

The West Michigan
BMW Riders would like
to invite the TCD to the
joint Fall Color Tour on
October 20th. This year
includes the BMW Club
of Battle Creek , the Mid
-Michigan Touring
Club, and the Saginaw
Valley BMW Riders
club. The premise is
that each club lays out
its own route with the
common destination
being Dukes Cajun Bar
& Grille in Portland.
Meet-up time is 2:002:30PM to allow each
club to complete their
route. This is the fourth
year that we have done
this and it has been a
lot of fun. Please join us
next month.

Being an island, traveling via ferry is the only practical method of getting ourselves and the motorcycle to the island. We were able to find a old Victorian
style bed and breakfast two blocks away from the main waterfront and the center of the city. We safely parked the bike and easily walked or used public transit
to get around. A not to miss attraction on the island is a visit to Butchart Gardens, which started over a 100 years ago as private gardens on the estate of the
Butchart family. It has since grown into over 50 acres of perfectly manicured
landscape gardens. Put this on your list of must-see places if at all possible.
Our trip will continue from Vancouver to the Canadian Rockies and then home.
Our plans will put us home after Stockbridge All Clubs Day, one of my favorite
TCD club events. I encourage everyone to go to breakfast in Pinckney and then
ride over to Stockbridge for the event.
The following weekend we have the Thumb Run, and to finish September we
have are our annual Vintage Day/DS Lite event on the 29th. The September and
October calendar of events are posted on page 4.
There’s a lot going on TCD riders now that fall is upon us, so get out, and plan to
join us for at least one of the club events as the 2013 riding season winds down.

As many of us are aware, Dimitri's Coney Island in Milford has lost the lease on the
portion of their space that we
have used for our Sunday
breakfast meetings. Sadly,
they really don't have the
room to accommodate us
any more.
When one door closes, another
opens.—Alexander
Graham Bell
Consequently, arrangements have been made with
"Americus Coney & Grill" (also in Milford) for TCD to
have breakfast on Aug. 25. They are located about 2-3
miles from Dimitri's at the intersection of Milford Rd.
and General Motors Rd. The address is:
