The venue - Sutter Creek, CA
Story has it, around 1847, the town of Sutter
Creek found its humble beginnings as a
single tent for miners to use on rainy
Sundays when they could not get to Jackson
or Drytown.
By the mid-1850’s, Sutter Creek had
become a bona-fide mining town with some
of the richest “deep rock” mines in the
Mother Lode.
In 1942, by executive order, the mining
operations were shut down. Shortly after,
Sutter Creek focused on tourism, retaining
its Gold Rush roots and Old West charm.
Today Sutter Creek, the Jewel of the Mother
Lode, boasts a wide range visitor amenities
with its unmistakable Gold Rush character.
Coming up early to the Corvair Spring Fling
will afford you time to visit this charming town
and discover the appeal of it’s historic streets
