movements, tough cases and bezels, and are engineered for longevity and durability.
traser® FAQ
Illumination: traser® watches are illuminated by traser’s proprietary trigalight® system, yielding superior night visibility without
the need to recharge, replace or reactivate for up to 25 years.
Movements: Only Swiss-made movements from two of the world’s most respected manufacturers, Ronda and ETA, are used
in traser® watches. traser® quartz watches are battery-powered, while automatic watches are self-wound by the wearer’s natural
wrist action.
Cases: traser® offers a variety of durable case materials and designs depending on the watch’s intended use. Double case
designs provide extra shock protection for military field watches. Cases are crafted of polyester, polyamide, glass fibre-reinforced
resin, steel or titanium, and may be coated via PVD (physical vapour deposition), a process that bonds a micron thick layer of
hard-wearing, protective, anti-reflective compounds to the case’s base material.
Bezels: traser® offers several bezel types depending on the watch application, including countdown bezels, tachymeter bezels,
sundial bezels, and time increment bezels. The bezel may be fixed, unidirectional (can only turn one direction) or bidirectional
(turns in both directions).
Crystals: traser® offers two types of crystal – Mineral K1 or Sapphire. While both are highly durable, sapphire is more
resistant to everyday scratches and is found on traser’s premium watches. Mineral K1 has the advantage of being less costly, and
is also less likely to shatter if severely impacted. On a Vickers scale, Mineral K1 is rated 900, and Sapphire is rated 2100.
Water Resistance: traser® watches are tested according to ISO 2281 standards and rated from 30m / 3 atm up to 300 m /
30 atm, depending on the watch.
