A. Entry must come from a dam with an SPI of 110 or higher (top 10% of breed). B. Entry must be farrowed Dec. 1, 2015 - Feb. 15, 2016 C. Entry must be of high-quality underline -- 6 & 6 or better. D. Entries will be put in a “special designated class” with class winner eligible for championship honors. E. One free entry per consignor, with no limit on number of entries per farm (balance of entries paid for by consignor). F. Exhibitor must be a member of the “STARS” program. Poland China Herdsman Boar and Herdsman Gilt A. Come from a litter with 21-day weights printed on the pedigree. EPDs will be available if owner or breeder has enrolled in performance data. B. Entry must be documented stress negative by mating or by test on or prior to making entries. C. Dam of entry must have an SPI of 105.00 or higher to be eligible for this class. D.Herdsman class designation must be made at time of entry. E. Exhibitor must be a member of the “STARS” program. F. One free entry per sex. National Junior Show Entries accepted online An online system for National Junior Show entries has been established. The online store will accept bank cards or automatic transfers from a bank account. Logon to www.teampurebred.com. Additional Event Details Spotted Herdsman Gilt A. Exhibitor must be enrolled in the “STARS” program. B. Gilt must be documented stress negative by mating or tested negative prior to entry deadline. C. Dam of litter must have an SPI of 105.00 or better to be eligible for class. D.Must meet all other requirements of breed registry. E. Entry must be farrowed Dec. 1, 2015, to February 15, 2016. F. One free entry per consignor, with no limit on number of entries per firm, with balance of entries paid for by consignor. National Junior Show Bred & Owned Rule (effective as of 2011 National Junior Show) All gilts and barrows must have been owned by the exhibitor (junior member), and NOT in the family or a farm name that includes a partner more than 21 years of age (this includes siblings or partnerships as long as all are under 21 years of age). Exhibitor must have owned the dam at the time of breeding. The exhibitor must be listed on the pedigree as BOTH the breeder and the owner of the barrow or gilt they are exhibiting. Junior & Open Shows Entry Deadline: May 27, 2016 June 28- July 2 • Springfield, Ill. Open & Junior Shows Health Requirements Please Read Carefully 1. All swine must be accompanied by an official health certificate issued June 2, 2016, or after, signed by the veterinarian in charge of the consignor’s operation. Certificate must show name and address of consignor, consigned to the Summer Type Conference, 801 Sangamon Avenue, Springfield, Il 62706. Two copies are required per animal of all hogs entered into the open show and sale. It is permissible that all hogs are listed on the same health paper as long as two copies are available for each hog consigned to the show and sale. Premise ID number is required. 2. All hogs (Team Purebred and/or Open Show entries) must be eartagged with either a metal “brite” tag (commonly called “NUES” or “Pass Tags”) or the RFID, EID, Ain or 840 tags. No exceptions. A state fair or county fair weigh-in tag is not acceptable. 3. All swine originating from outside the state of Illinois are required to obtain an entry permit. Permits are available 24 hours per day, seven days a week, by calling (217) 782-4944. 4. ***Pseudorabies – Please read*** All gilts—Open Show and Team Purebred Junior Gilt Show—are required to either be tested negative PRV on or after June 2, 2016, or originate from a qualified PRV herd. Please list last validation test date and validation herd number on certificate of inspection. Either the Elisa, ALA or S/N tests are acceptable. Differentiable Elisa Test will NOT be accepted. ***Team Purebred entered barrows (barrows only) are not required to be PRV tested.*** 5. Brucellosis: ALL GILTS, either for Team Purebred show or Open Show, and ALL boars must be tested negative for Brucellosis on or after June 2, 2016, or be from a Brucellosis free herd. Test results and/or validation number of herd and test date must be printed on the health certificate. 6. All breeding swine entered in the Open Show and Sale must be vaccinated for 6-way lepto, including Bratislava. Please list product used and vaccination date on health paper. 7. The following statements must be printed on all health papers. a) No raw garbage fed b) No PRV in herd in past 12 months c) No PRV vaccine used d) Herd is not under quarantine e) Hogs have not been exposed to hog cholera f) Hog or herd of origin have not had any signs of or diagnosis of TGE or PEDV in the last 60 days. g) Hog or herd of origin has not been diagnosed with, or been within 10 miles of, vesicular stomatis within the last 30 days. h) Hog or farm has not been clinically diagnosed with Seneca Valley virus or have foot or nose lesions within past 60 days. 8. Team Purebred and Open Class exhibitors MUST fully follow the above guidelines. Please review your health papers BEFORE arriving in Springfield. Original pedigrees and health papers (two copies per animal) must be submitted at check-in at the show. All hogs must meet all registry requirements. Check individual breed rules and regulations for registry. All animals must have a minimum of six (6) quality teats on each side to be eligible to show. Acceptable underlines are a minimum of six functional teats on each side of the underline and pin teats do not qualify as functional. Each functional teat MUST have an opening or orifice. Any evidence of fresh ear notes will automatically disqualify the animal from both the show and the sale. All Berkshire, Poland and Spotted entries must have stress status listed on pedigree. Berkshire entries must be stress negative. Poland and Spotted animals may be stress negative or stress carriers. Stress positive Polands and Spotted animals are not allowed to show and sell. Prior to the event, more specific reminders will be mailed to all exhibitors. By June 15 – all exhibitors must contact the ABA office with ear notches of Berkshire entries and the CPS office with ear notches and registration numbers of Chester, Poland and Spotted entries. You may mail, fax or e-mail this information. Do not hesitate to contact the breed registries or show officials if you have any questions. NOTE: All open show Berkshire animals must be stress identified (denoted on pedigree before show) and be stress negative.
