Gross domestic product (GDP) is often used to get a general idea about how wealthy a country is.
It is the total value of everything that is produced in a country within a year. It is expressed here in purchasing power standards (pps) per person.
The purchasing power standard is a device used to make the figures for the various countries broadly comparable by ensuring that the differences in price levels in different countries
do not affect the calculation. One pps corresponds roughly to one euro. The average for the 27 EU countries was 23 085 pps/person. GDP figures are forecasts.
The countries are in alphabetical order according to the country’s name in its own language.
