Noctrane Jazz & Bluegrass September 15th at 7 pm Noctrane – a progressive acoustic ensemble with Michael Lich (banjo), Jason Roederer (double bass), and Jeff Sanders (guitar and voice). Noctrane explores the dynamic rhythms and sonic landscapes of bluegrass, jazz and roots music. The ensemble’s broad influences include music pillars such as Earl Skruggs, Thelonious Monk, Pat Metheny and J.S. Bach. Veteran with Dolan Ellis November 11th at 1:30 pm For this special Veterans Day Concert, Dolan will include patriotic songs such as America the Beautiful in a special arrangement that includes all verses, The Star Spangled Banner with a salute to the men and women in the Armed Forces, Buddy Can You Spare a Dime and Amerizona. Dolan Ellis has been Arizona’s Official State Balladeer for 47 years, under the appointment of twelve Arizona Governors. “America the Beautiful: Nobody sings this song like Dolan. It's a medley that begins and ends with the words inscribed on the Statue of LIberty. In the hands of these superb musicians, it can also sing soft and sweet, bringing you to the edge of your seat, and get your toes tapping with jazzy tunes to boot. With a repertoire featuring classical standards and original jazz/hip-hop arrangements and compositions, Infinitus is quickly becoming one of North America’s premiere chamber groups. The trio was formed in 2008 by violist Anthony Cheung, cellist Alex Cheung, and violinist John “Adidam” Little John. Showboat Stage to Cinema Ring our the Old Year on New Year’s Eve December 31st at 7 pm A true classic of American musical theater, this tale of life on the Mississippi from the 1880’s to the 1920’s is both a poignant love story and a powerful reminder of the bitter legacy of racism. Director Francesca Zambello’s grand-scale production is “a triumph—a stylish, fast-paced and colorful show that had the capacity audience on its feet, cheering loud and long” (Chicago Classical Review).
