Pioneers of the modern-day precharged pneumatic (PCP)
COMPUTERISED OR MECHANICAL - IT’S TOMORROW’S TECHNOLOGY TODAY
P
ioneers of the modern-day precharged pneumatic (PCP), Daystate has built up a reputation
across the shooting globe for being a highly innovative airgunmaker - and the current
range of PCPs bears testimony to their engineering and design prowess. From ground-breaking
technology that uses computer power and electronics to a totally new concept in mechanicallydriven performance, Daystate builds the finest, most advanced air rifles in the world today.
D
aystate’s latest computer-driven rifles - the Air Wolf and MK4 - utilises the highly advanced
Map Compensated Technology (MCT). Based upon Capacitor Discharge Technology (CDT) - a
system introduced with the Daystate MK3 and which uses a digital microprocessor to control a
solenoid-powered air valve - MCT takes the performance of both rifle and shooter to a completely
new level.
Using a series of algorithms pre-programed into the operating system’s software, the rifle’s onboard computer monitors every microsecond of the firing cycle, precisely calculating the amount of
time and distance the main firing valve needs to open in order to ensure identical air release from
one shot to the next.
This computerised control of the lock time continually regulates the rifle’s power output, from the
first shot of its main air charge to the last, and completely eliminates any power ‘curve’ - the overall
velocity shift across the charge that’s a common phenomenon on most unregulated PCPs. In effect,
MCT is a highly-advanced, computerised air regulator.
Daystate’s MCT system
has broken new ground in
PCP airgun design
Besides having no noticeable power curve, MCT also brings with it other significant benefits.
Because it regulates the air release so precisely - and independently from one shot to the next Daystate’s electronic models return an outstanding number of usable shots from one air charge.
Additionally, shot-to-shot velocity deviation is greatly reduced and, down-range, this extra consistency
translates into improved accuracy - making full use of the superior build quality, ergonomic handling
and specially-selected match-grade barrel that are a trademark of all Daystate’s PCP air rifles.
D
aystate doesn’t confine its technological advances to computerdriven, electronic hardware. All the mechanically-driven PCPs in
the current range feature the unique Harper Patent ‘slingshot’ hammer
and valve set-up - a highly advanced system that improves the
efficiency of the action to such an extent that it’s actually comparable
with Daystate’s original MK3 supergun!
Heralded as a massive step forward in PCP airgun design, this
innovative concept utilises principles of inertia to mimic the operation
of a solenoid-powered valve hammer and, therefore, eliminates the
phenomenon known as ‘hammer bounce’ - a common problem on
conventional PCPs where the valve constantly opens and closes
after the main discharge, ‘wasting’ air long after the pellet has been
accelerated up the bore.
But with the slingshot at its heart, a mechanically-driven Daystate
delivers all the advantages of a computerised one - namely extremelyefficient use of air, a very high number of shots per charge, a flat power
curve, an ultra-fast firing cycle and a quiet muzzle discharge.
As ingenious and effective as the slingshot system is, it’s also
remarkably simple and, therefore, incredibly reliable - one of the many
reasons why Daystate is able to back-up its rifles with a three-year
warranty.
The slingshot hammer is contained within a cage, both
of which move forward under pressure from the mainspring
when the trigger is released. By way of soft buffers, the
cage’s forward motion is brought to a rapid halt, allowing the
hammer within to carry on and strike open the main valve
under inertia. A pulse of high pressure air is released from the
secondary air reservoir, driving the pellet along the bore.
Assisted by air pressure and a return spring, the open
valve is immediately shut and the hammer moves rearwards
- what would normally be the initial stages of a ‘bounce’.
However, an internal buffer within the cage absorbs most of
the hammer’s kinetic energy and, aided by the anti-bounce
spring, the hammer does not open the valve a second time.
Result: no wasted air.
Daystate’s Harper Patent slingshot valve/hammer system transforms the performance of a mechanically-driven PCP
GET RESULTS MORE EASILY
T
he Air Wolf MCT... the ultimate in high-tech hunting air rifles
that features the very latest in on-board refinements to
make it easier than ever to achieve great shooting results.
This latest version of Daystate’s highly popular hunting and Hunter Field Target
competition rifle now contains significant upgrades on former Air Wolf models. It includes
Daystate’s patented Map Compensated Technology (MCT - see pages 2 and 9) as well as a new
LCD information screen to keep you informed on the exact status of your rifle. Battery power for
the electrical system is delivered courtesy of a Ni-MH (Nickel-metal Hydride) rechargeable battery
that provides enough power for thousands of shots. (Battery charger supplied.)
Internally, the Air Wolf MCT now features a new Harper Patent valve system for increased efficiency
as well as a market-leading shot capacity. This also provides the potential for high power if required.
Combined with the full length, sound-moderating barrel shroud, the patented electronic system
makes the Air Wolf MCT a near-silent rifle to shoot in the field. Supplied as standard in Carbine
length - complete with a threaded adaptor to suit Daystate’s Airstream IV carbon fibre Reflex
silencer - the Air Wolf is also available in a full-length Rifle model, as well as a high-power version.
The ambidextrous thumbhole stock fitted to the Air Wolf is made in Italy by world renowned stockmaker, Minelli, and incorporates only
the finest, selected Turkish walnut.
Also available in some countries is the Air Wolf MVT model. This features an on-board chronoscope and is programmed to allow the shooter
to dial in the exact velocity required (upwards from 400 feet per second), adding another dimension of adjustability when required.

A DREAM HUNTING PARTNER
I
n the world of airguns, there has never been anything quite like
Daystate’s patented electronic system. Building on the groundbreaking MK3 system, the latest Map Compensated Technology (MCT see pages 2 and 9) that’s fitted to the new MK4 iS models turns a revolutionary
system into an evolutionary one, providing total shooting control from the advanced
software programs that power it.
The MK4 wears the crown for being the most advanced PCP air rifle on the planet. A new
information screen brings into view the state-of-the-art technology hidden inside, and also gives
the shooter ultimate control via its user-programmable options.
The MCT pulse beating at the heart of the MK4 action generates a lock-time - the period
between the squeeze of the trigger and the pellet’s acceleration along the barrel - that’s up to
five times faster than a conventional, mechanically-driven PCP. Additionally, the shot-to-shot
consistency is effectively digitally-regulated courtesy of the MCT’s sophisticated electronic
monitoring system (page 2).
Whilst the phenomenally-fast firing cycle makes it easy to get outstanding down-range results,
the MK4 is backed by numerous other accuracy enhancing features, from an electronically-operated, fully-adjustable two-stage trigger to a
target-grade barrel that free-floats within a full-length, sound-moderating shroud. Yet despite the cutting edge technology within, the MK4 is
also a stunning looker, whether you opt for it in Sports (S) or Sports Thumbhole (ST) livery. Created by top stock designer, Gary Cane and
crafted in high-grade Turkish walnut by world renowned stockmaker, Minelli of Italy, the MK4 models handle as beautifully as they look.

GIVING YOU TOTAL CONTROL
T
he on-board LCD information screen of the iS models (MK4 and Air Wolf MCT) gives
you an instant report on the rifle’s status, showing the cylinder’s air pressure, which
of the two pre-set power settings it’s been programed with, the current shot-count, the
voltage of the battery and how many shots remain in the 10-shot magazine.
Besides showing this working data, the information screen is used to set the rifle’s
eight shooting modes. Using the trigger to navigate through the options, you can quickly
and easily program your Daystate’s computerised operating system to ensure the rifle
performs in exactly the way you want it to for any given shooting assignment.

RESET
Reset the magazine to count down from 10.
Reset the overall shot-count. For example - to indicate how
many shots have been fired since rifle was last charged.
Displays the active air pressure. (Trigger is disabled while
menu is open.)
Sets power to one of two pre-set values - ‘Hi Pwr’ or ‘Pwr 2’.
On sub-12 ft/lbs rifles, Pwr 2 is 10 f.p.s. lower than Hi Pwr. On
FAC models, Pwr 2 is approx 20% below Hi Pwr, which is set
at 18, 30, or 40 ft/lbs according to model.
Sets back-light of information screen. (On continuously, autooff after 10 secs., or off.) Choose when lamping or shooting
in low light conditions.
Allows the magazine count (see Stage 1) to be displayed or
not. Choose ‘off’ when shooting with the single-shot tray.
Sets the rifle to single-shot mode, requiring the safety
switch to be re-activated after each shot. When on, trigger is
disabled immediately after shot; rifle emits an audible beep
and safety flashes to signify status. Useful when shooting
competitions, such as Hunter Field Target.
Allows user to program-in a specified re-fill pressure. When
the charge in the rifle’s air cylinder reaches this level, a rapid
series of audible beeps sound to signify a re-fill is required.
The rifle may be re-set to the factory defaults.
STYLE IN YOUR SHOULDER
T
he Huntsman Classic combines all the elements of a fine,
traditional sporting air rifle in a lightweight, compact design
that’s a joy to shoulder, whether you’re out in the hunting field or on
the competition range.
Classic English styling complements beautifully-carved, Italian-crafted walnut woodwork
which cradles a solidly engineered - yet remarkably lightweight - action. Despite its diminutive
size, the Huntsman contains all the features airgun shooters have come to expect from a rifle that
carries the famous Daystate logo.
Courtesy of its Harper patent slingshot hammer and valve system (page 3), the Huntsman is
capable of performance levels which have never hitherto been achievable on a mechanically-driven
PCP. This results in a much greater shot-count and even more efficient power delivery, with highpower versions of the Classic capable of a muzzle energies up to a staggering 30 ft/lbs.
Utilising some of the most advanced stock-making techniques available, the Huntsman
incorporates a unique marriage of wood and metal, whereby its one-piece steel action is seated far
lower than usual in the stock in order to mimic the handling and feel of a traditional hunting rifle.
Nothing has been left to chance on the Huntsman, from its fully-shrouded match-grade barrel to its solid breech block, which comes fitted
with Daystate’s proven 10-shot rotary magazine. If you prefer not to auto-load, this can instantly be replaced with an optional single-shot tray
that allows direct-to-barrel loading. The rifle has been fitted with a pressure gauge to clearly indicate the remaining air status, and re-charging
is a quick and easy operation courtesy of the standard snap-fit filling system, neatly concealed behind a pull-off protective cover.

esigned to be a ‘supergun’ amongst sporting air rifles, the Air
Ranger and its extra-high power stablemate, the Air Ranger 80,
bring a whole new dimension to mechanically-driven PCPs. Now you can
shoot well beyond your normal limits.
Capable of muzzle energies from 12 ft/lbs, High Power versions can be factory set up to
60-plus ft/lbs in .22 calibre and an awesome 80 ft/lbs in .25 (Air Ranger 80), Daystate is able to
present a new breed of highly accurate pneumatic for the hunter; one that delivers extreme power
that’s unrivalled by any other air rifle, and which allows you to shoot at ranges normally associated
with smallbore firearms.
The Air Ranger’s 400cc (12 ft/lbs version) or 500cc fixed power source combines with the high
efficiency of the Slingshot hammer and valve system (page 3) to return a vast number of shots per
quick-fill charge, making the Air Ranger all the airgun you will ever need.
It sports all the features that have become the hallmark of Daystate’s PCP rifles - bolt-action
loading, the low-profile 10-shot auto-indexing magazine, an on-board air gauge, a fail-safe rotary safety
catch and fully-adjustable trigger that gives a superbly crisp let-off, even at the highest power.
But despite the Air Ranger being a first choice as the ultimate hunting rifle, the designers have been able to created in the Air Ranger
much of the beauty and style of the finest sporting air rifles. Dressed in the finest walnut thumbhole stock (crafted in Italy by Minelli), it’s
adorned by an ambidextrous cheek-piece and classy capped grip - a perfect handle for harnessing the rifle’s performance and affording you

aystate offers a comprehensive range of advanced-technology airgun ammunition that covers .177, .20, .22
and .25 calibres, including the revolutionary RangeMaster and Magnum Air Bullets. By way of a highly-efficient
ballistic coefficient, these British-made pellets move far less in the wind, lose minimal energy down-range and
therefore considerably extend effective field ranges. They are also ideally suited to Daystate’s high- and superhigh power air rifle models.
M
ade specifically for Daystate by renowned munitions manufacturer JSB, the range of .177,
.20 and .22 calibre Select waisted pellets provide match-grade quality for use not only in
the field, but also on the range where they have a long list of wins in Field Target and Hunter
Field Target competitions.
JSB has developed the high performance of the Select with special test rigs incorporating
Daystate barrels, thus ensuring they’re perfectly matched to Daystate’s own line-up of rifles
- and there are extra inspection processes during the manufacture stage to maintain quality
control and, ultimately, accuracy. For serious match shooters, the .177 FT Select is also supplied
in foam-lined tins to help alleviate transit damage.
To maximise their performance from individual barrels, both .177 and .22 calibre Select also
come in a choice of head sizes - 4.50, 4.52 or 4.53, and 5.51 or 5.52 respectively.
C
omplementing Daystate air rifles is a comprehensive selection of high quality telescopic sights from MTC Optics. With
lenses made to Japanese design specifications and spanning variable magnification ranges from 3-12x up to 8-32x in
both 25 mm and 30 mm tube diameters, there are two model ranges on offer - the Viper and Mamba Lite.. All models
feature MTC’s unique SCB (Small Calibre Ballistic) cross-hair which has been designed to offer a multitude of windage and
trajectory aim-points, making it particularly suitable for both sub-12 ft/lbs and high-power air rifle use.
T
he Airstream IV
Reflex is a groundbreaking new sound suppressor that
incorporates a unique one-piece baffle unit for perfect
bore alignment and noise dissipation on all Daystate models and,
also, many other air rifle models.
Fitting a standard 1/2” UNF threaded muzzle or adaptor, the Reflex’s internal mounting system
effectively makes it half the length of comparable silencers, adding just 84 mm (3.3 ins) to the muzzle.
Its stylish casing is made from carbon-fibre, which brings the assurance of strength without undue
weight. This, along with the CNC precision-machined alloy internals, also ensures the rifle’s balance is
unaffected when in your shoulder. Despite its meagre dimensions, however, the Reflex is capable of industrylevel quietness, and its perfectly suitable on Daystate’s high- and super-high power rated PCPs.
Both the Viper and Mamba Lite are feature rich. In addition to the SCB reticle, all models sport ultra-high quality lenses
with heavy-duty metal flip-up covers and a super-smooth zoom magnification operation. Specific scopes also feature
either target or semi-target adjustment turrets and side-wheel parallax adjustment which, on the higher power models,
doubles as an integral range-finding system. Four models in the Viper range also offer an illuminated
reticle function - IR - that’s ideal for shooting under low-light, in high contrast conditions and when
lamping.
Backing up the MTC range of scopes are Daystate’s Pro-Fit ring mounts.
Made in the UK exclusively to Daystate’s very exacting specification by
one of the most respected scope-mount names in the business
- Sportsmatch - they are available in medium and high format, with
25 mm or 30 mm rings. Specifically machined to precision-fit all
Daystate receivers, Pro-Fit mounts also ensure perfect lens-tobreech alignment on any rifle with dovetails between 9.5 and
11.5 mm. Whilst clearly identifying the mount as a Pro-Fit, the specially
treated cradle screws have a more practical application - they will not
rust like conventional steel screws.
