Super Bowl XLVII New Orleans February 3, 2013 NEW New Orleans Lakefront Airport New Orleans Lakefront Airport Ground Transportation Plan Overview • • • Way finding Charter Bus and Limousine Taxicab 2 NEW New Orleans Lakefront Airport NEW Ground Transportation Operations WAY FINDING Digital Signage will be located on I-‐‑10 Interstate highway, Morrison Road Exit, Morrison Road, Crowder Boulevard Exit, Crowder Boulevard to direct vehicle traffic to the staging lots. 3 NEW New Orleans Lakefront Airport 3 NEW Ground Transportation Operations • Vehicle Staging Lots • The staging lot can be accessed from the Hayne Avenue flyover to Stars and Stripes Boulevard, then making a legal U turn at the designated turn area, proceeding to the South Shore Harbor Terminal Parking lot. (See slide on page 3) • Procedures for Passenger Pick-‐‑up (Arrivals) • Procedures for Passenger Drop-‐‑off (Departures) 4 NEW New Orleans Lakefront Airport 4 NEW Ground Transportation VEHICLE STAGING LOTS • South Shore Harbor Marina Terminal parking lot located at the end of Stars and Stripes Boulevard will serve as the required staging area for all limousines providers, charter, mini buses , rent a car and taxis during the Super Bowl • South Shore Harbor Marina Terminal parking lot area A will serve as required staging for all Landmark and NetJet providers during the Super Bowl • South Shore Harbor Marina Terminal parking lot area B will serve as required staging for all Hawthorne providers during the Super Bowl • South Shore Harbor Marina Terminal parking lot area C will serve as required staging for all Flightline First providers during the Super Bowl • South Shore Harbor Marina Terminal parking lot area D will serve as overflow staging during the Super Bowl • Staging areas will be open and secured 24 hours Thursday, January 31 through Sunday, February 3, 2013 5 NEW Orleans Lakefront Airport 5 NEW Ground Transportation VEHICLE STAGING LOT A – Landmark, Netjet LOT B Hawthorne 6 NEW New Orleans Lakefront Airport 6 NEW Ground Transportation VEHICLE STAGING LOTS C – Flightline First 7 NEW New Orleans Lakefront Airport 7 NEW Ground Transportation VEHICLE STAGING LOT D -‐‑ Overflow 8 NEW New Orleans Lakefront Airport 8 NEW Ground Transportation Limousine & Buses PROCEDURES FOR PICK-‐‑UP (ARRIVALS) – VEHICLE DISPATCH • Staging areas will be open and security staffed 24 hours starting Thursday, January 31 through Sunday, February 3, 2013 9 NEW New Orleans Lakefront Airport 9 NEW Ground Transportation Picking Up Arriving Passengers 10 • NEW New Orleans Lakefront Airport 10 NEW Ground Transportation Picking Up Arriving Passengers 11 • NEW New Orleans Lakefront Airport 11 NEW Ground Transportation Limousines & Buses PROCEDURES FOR PICK-‐‑UP (ARRIVALS) – Limousine Operators picking-‐‑up arriving passengers will be directed to the respective Fixed Based Operator 12 NEW New Orleans Lakefront Airport 12 NEW Ground Transportation Limousines & Buses PROCEDURES FOR PICK-‐‑UP (ARRIVALS) – GROUND TRANSPORTATION CENTER Charter Bus Operators picking-‐‑up arriving passengers will be directed to their respective Fixed Based Operator . Buses are not allowed on the tarmac unescorted. 13 NEW New Orleans Lakefront Airport 13 NEW Ground Transportation Limousines & Buses PROCEDURES FOR DROP-‐‑OFF (DEPARTURES ) – Limousine Operators are to drop off passengers at the entrance to their passengers respective FBO operator, unescorted limousines are not allowed on the tarmac . 14 NEW NEW Orleans Lakefront Airport 14 NEW Ground Transportation Limousines & Buses PROCEDURES FOR DROP-‐‑OFF (DEPARTURES ) – Charter Bus Operators will drop off all passengers at the entrance to their passengers respective FBO operators facility 15 NEW New Orleans Lakefront Airport 15 NEW Ground Transportation Operations • Vehicle Staging Lot • Procedures for Passenger Pick-‐‑up (Arrivals) • Procedures for Passenger Drop-‐‑off (Departures) 16 NEW New Orleans Lakefront Airport 16 NEW Ground Transportation VEHICLE STAGING LOT • The Hold Lot D, will serve as the required staging area for overflow during the Super Bowl arrival period • The staging lot can be accessed from the Hayne Avenue flyover to Stars and Stripes Boulevard, then making a legal U turn at the designated turn area, proceeding to the South Shore Harbor Terminal Parking lot (See page 3) • Directional signs will be placed along the airport roadway 17 NEW New Orleans Lakefront Airport 17 NEW Ground Transportation PROCEDURES FOR PICK-‐‑UP (ARRIVALS) • Taxis will stage in the Hold lot until dispatched by the Fixed Based Operator • Once dispatched, taxicabs will proceed to the Fixed Based Operator • Monitors will assist in the loading of passengers at the curbside of the Fixed Based Operator 18 NEW New Orleans Lakefront Airport 18 NEW Ground Transportation Taxicabs PROCEDURES FOR DROP-‐‑OFF (DEPARTURES) – Taxicab Operators are to drop off passengers at their respective passengers Fixed Based Operator’s entrance, taxis are not allowed on the airport tarmac unescorted 19 NEW New Orleans Lakefront Airport 19 NEW Ground Transportation GENERAL REQUIREMENTS – DRIVERS • Must be a legal resident or is currently authorized to work full-‐‑time in the U.S. • Must meet all requirements of the New Orleans Lakefront Airport. • Must possess a valid city license issued by the City of New Orleans 20 NEW Orleans Lakefront Airport 20 NEW Ground Transportation GENERAL REQUIREMENTS – VEHICLES • All vehicles operating on airport premises must be kept clean inside and outside with the exterior body free from major damage and/or rust. • All vehicles are subject to random inspection by Airport Authority personnel in an effort to ensure proper levels of cleanliness, physical appearance, and safety conditions are being maintained. • All vehicles used to provide taxicab service must be properly permiled by the licensing jurisdiction. 21 NEW New Orleans Lakefront Airport 21
