Uzbekistan Airways Technics (UAT) was established on November 12, 1924, when the Dobrolet
Aviation Community launched the first aircraft maintenance workshops. The workshops provided
maintenance services of K-4 and K-5 single-engine aircraft, German Junker, Forman, Junker and BMW
aircraft engines. In 1937 the Community was rearranged to Aircraft Repair Plant №243 of Civil
Aviation. At the beginning of its activity the plant serviced: ANT-9, F-5, P-5, G-l, G-2, K-4, K-5, U-2,
BMV-123A engines and L -5. Later on, the maintenance of TB-3, Li-2 and M-17 engines, M-34,
ASH-62IR was developed. After the World War II the plant was reequipped for repair of civil aircraft.
Across decades the plant services aircraft which were constructed by well-known S.V. Ilyushin and
A.S.Yakovlev design bureaus - Il-12, Il-14, Il-18, Il-62M, Il-76TD, Il-86, Yak-12. For many years the
plant repaired long-haul aircraft IL-62, IL-76TD cargo aircraft, AI-25 engines, TA-6, TA-6A, TA-8
auxiliary power units.
Since the establishment the airline started to acquire new types of aircraft like Airbus 310, Boeing
757/767 and RJ-85. The maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) base for new aircraft was strongly
required. Thereby, in 1997 the Maintenance Center for western-made aircraft was founded. As early
as next year, together with the Airbus experts, the first С-check in Central Asia of Airbus310 was
accomplished. Since 1999, the center started to provide the С-checks of Boeing-767 and RJ-85
aircraft. The same kind of maintenance of Boeing-757 started in 2000. In 2001 the name of Tashkent
Civil Aviation Repair Plant 243 was changed to Uzbekistan Airways Technics Aviation Enterprise. Due
to Government Credits UAT the necessary Equipment and Tooling was purchased to maintain A310,
B757/767 and BAe146/AVRO146-RJ aircraft.
In November 2010, UAT performed the first А-check of Airbus 320 for Uzbekistan Airways. Since May
2012, UAT provides С-check of this type of aircraft.
