Improved new technology allows us to communicate
and transport simultaneously on all continents. More and more
it is essential to know a certain time in a certain place in our world.
The B-47 WORLD TIMER GMT with its specially engineered
FORTIS caliber F-2022 is the solution to enhance the functionality
of a traveler’s watch. Three different local times can be monitored
at once: The first by using the center hands, the second by the red
zero meridian on the rotating blue dial disc, which turns counterclockwise as it is the natural earth rotation. The third local time is
represented on the external bezel by the engraved capital names.
B-47 MYSTERIOUS PLANETS
500 pieces each, individually numbered, design black or blue
“The magic and blissful detachment from humdrum concerns appears simply neverending on contemplation of the miracle
of the infinite vastness of outer space. The stars and the planets are harbingers of hope on the horizon, heralding happiness
to come. Never reaching the end... heaven on earth.” - Karsten K. Krebs -

This exciting watch with a jumping hour function was created in cooperation with Prof. Karsten K. Krebs.
“Mysterious Planets” is the name of this automatic specialty. The hour numerals jump up surprisingly in one of
the five dial windows which illustrate the planets and orbits of Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars and Jupiter around the Sun.
The specially designed FORTIS caliber F-2024 is the driving force for the turning dial which displays always
a new look in the course of 12 hours.

glass dial. The distinctive big indices are coated with black luminous material and the sapphire crystal with anti-reflective
coating on both sides reflects in blue. The wavelike jagged bezel with 60-minute scale is unidirectional adjustable
and a semicircular rubber inlay protects the case as well as the glass when accidentally hitting the watch.

PLANET by G. WINNER
The continued belief in perfection guarantees an accomplished quality. By the same token, aesthetic appeal
and a strong sense of individuality represent a philosophy which ignores all fads to endure as a timeless statement.
Titaniu and black rubber - the materials of space, perfectly made. The PVD black finish is produced under vacuum
conditions.
Confronted with the task to design an
art watch inspired by outer space, Prof.
Gerd Winner came up with the idea of
his planet watch.

The cosmic complexity with its energy
fields as part of our solar system,

the sun as the central celestial body,
constitutes the main design feature.

dimension to our eyes.
MISSION MARS 500
The correct timing of the MARS 500
mission, a pioneering space experiment
of FSA, ESA, DLR and the Chinese
space agency was guaranteed by the
mechanical timepieces of FORTIS as
part of their official equipment. In an
artificial spaceship habitat of 180 m² six
young men from different nations were
locked up to simulate a real flight to the
red planet, isolated, without sunlight or
fresh air, for the duration of 520 days.
Two special editions were issued to
commemorate this milestone in Mars
exploration.

FLIEGER
The FLIEGER chronograph
automatic already premiered
by the end of the 80s and
marked the renaissance of
pilot watches. Being the winner of the “1st European
Aviation Watch Award”,
this FORTIS chronograph
with its characteristic 40 mm
case diameter and its automatic winding
movement became the first choice of international flight squadrons.
One specialty of this exclusive
Flieger chronograph edition, is
its contrast dial with distinguished
numerals, sub counters and the
skeleton hands clearly visible. The
case (Ø 40 mm) is partly polished
and brushed finished.
For female pilots or women who
appreciate the plain and straight
design of the Flieger automatic,
a lady model with a case diameter
of 34 mm is available, including
all the features FORTIS stands
for: Swiss automatic movements,
recognized and clear design,
as well as high functionality.
In addition to the steel bracelet,
several attachments like leather or

What‘s special about the „Silver Line“:
The fine finished highly polished steel case and the special relief dial are the main characteristics.
A multi-step process is necessary to produce the silver opaline relief dial with its embossed
and dyed numerals, indices and luminous skeleton hands which harmoniously fit into the ensemble.
What‘s special about the „Black Label“:
FORTIS corporate style is expressed in its genomic imprinting
and contains all of the traits of a perfect timekeeper with the qualities of a classic.
The black contrast dial with relief structur provides perfect legibility and
the brushed steel case grants a slightly elegant touch.

A cult watch. Diameter 47 mm. Developed to pilots’
specifications to provide all typical flight parametres.
Comfortable and highly exact Swiss micro-mechanics in
perfect symbiosis with the classical slide-rule function.
This modern classic offers three time zones, a countdown
function and country specific conversion scales.
The caseback reveals a temperature scale in Celsius
and Fahrenheit as well as the individual watch identity
number. A Swiss watchmaker was the first to discover the
relationship of numbers and the way to control them as
logarithms. Jost Bürgi, born in 1552 in the Swiss canton
St. Gallen, laid the foundations of the arithmetic system for the
slide-rule which became a must and the basic tool for every
engineer, architect and various other technical occupations.

B-42 STRATOLINER CHRONOGRAPH
One of the most interesting vintage FORTIS chronometers was branded
„Stratoliner“ and had its premiere at the beginning of the space age in the
early 60s. The spirit of the 21. century is represented by four contemporary
STRATOLINER chronographs. The three-part bi-color case in combination
with the characteristic skeleton hands and the contrast dial compose an
exceptional harmonious view. A glass caseback allows the inside view.
The inner values are based on the perfect Swiss Valjoux chronograph

MATTERN
“Our time is characterized by technology that dominates our lives with complexity,
helpful in many fields of work, manipulating in the media, monitoring in surveillance
systems and deadly in weapon development.“ - Michael Mattern As an artist who transforms these facts into contemporary images Mattern since
1989 uses technical shapes and functional logics. This does not concern the
exterior, the visible form of the technological subject, it‘s the inner incurrence
process that produces the basis he works from. This is how he extends the
constructivism of contemporary shapes.

ART EDITIONS
FRISSON by ROLF SACHS
In cooperation with the designer Rolf Sachs another very
unusual automatic watch is presented, right in time for the
100th anniversary of FORTIS in 2012. Already the name
‘Frisson’ (French: chill, shiver) implies cool distance, enhanced
by the chosen materials: Brushed steel case, transparent
silicone strap with folding clasp and luminous hour and
minute hands. A very unusual watch requiring a handson experience. The mineral crystal has a special finish,
which allows only a dimly vision of the dial and hands, like

THE WORLD‘S FIRST AUTOMATIC WRIST WATCH
The Harwood story starts at the
beginning of the 20th century in
a small watchmaker’s workshop
on the Isle of Man in the UK.
Synonymous with the historical
development of watches is the
name John Harwood as the
history of the first automatic
wristwatch is his story.
He had experienced the shortcomings of the wristwatches
available at that time. As an
experienced watchmaker John
Harwood knew that problems such as dust and moisture were
the most common factors in the watch movement repairs he
encountered. He had the vision of a new type of a reliable wristwatch
without the opening for the winding stem, which he identified as the
point of failure. For this reason, Harwood paid particular attention to
the development of a different winding and hand setting mechanism,
which needed to be located inside the watch. After observing
children playing on a seesaw, he began to envision the basics of his
self-winding mechanism.
The fluted turning bezel,
the missing crown
and the dial window
at position 6 h
are the unmistakable
characteristics of this classic.

November 15, 1929
The enamel dial of this exclusive limited edition is traditionally
manufactured and decorated with an original historic motive from
the famous Swiss miniature painter Louis Reguin (1872-1948).
Eye-catching in the watch center is a floating pair of angels while
the elegant steel blue hands describe the process of hours, minutes
and seconds in a corona at the outer dial. Limited to 100 pieces
in steel, this anniversary edition is a reminder of the high art and
tradition relating to crafts of the miniature painting, which only few

FORTIS founder Walter Vogt was a visionary man and realized the
potential of John Harwood’s invention. He gave birth to the first
self-winding wristwatch in a series production. During the world
watch fair in Basel in 1926, FORTIS presented the Harwood to an
excited international audience. On the occasion of the centennial
and in remembrance of this brilliant achievement the Harwood
