ART BEYOND BORDERS, PostCards From The World
“My Dream of Peace”
Competition, Exhibitions & Art Exchange
Overview
A
postcard is not a veil that hides
its content like a letter, but
proudly announces its significance
for all to see.
I
t is one of the few
things left that requires personal
interaction; it is the trilogy of sender,
delivery and receiver
that shares
a common union.
ART BEYOND BORDERS, PostCards From The
World premieres the world’s largest open art
competition and exhibitions. In partnership
with Artsonia and Teachers Discovery
hundreds of thousands of teachers and
students around the globe will be invited to
share “My Dream of Peace” by creating and
entering small original works of art on
postcards, with the option to upload images,
if time and funds for postage are limited.
PostCards From the World will give students a
voice in a world they will define and provide a
platform to showcase our kindred spirit and
creative connection.
Art Beyond Borders, PostCards From The World is a project of
TIMOTCA, The International Museum of Twenty-first Century Arts.
TIMOTCA is a nonprofit corporation founded in 1980 to foster peace
and cultural understanding through the universal language of art and to
build the world’s first global Peace Monument and Cultural Center
presenting the visual and performing arts of every country on earth.
Two hundred and fifty countries have been identified for
participation and to date, over 60 countries have accepted
TIMOTCA’s invitation, having officially chosen their most
celebrated artists for the TIMOTCA Nomination Document.
Traveling the world, TIMOTCA Co-Founders have met with the
master artists who have been selected to represent their
respective countries. Each artist contributed an original work of
art for TIMOTCA’s permanent collection “Art Beyond Borders.”
Organized as an exhibition, Art Beyond Borders premiered at
United Nations Headquarters under the sponsorship of UNESCO,
and has been exhibited at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris and at
venues across America, providing a platform to showcase our common
creative spirit and quest for peace.
During the years, TIMOTCA has created many programs to reach
out to children with the message of Art Beyond Borders in
hundreds of schools and public venues receiving high praise from
Governors, Mayors, teachers and visitors across the US. Now, with
PostCards From The World we reach out across the globe.
