CCAD CONNECTIONS Fall/Winter 2014 CCAD to Participate in Alternative Gift Fair C a project of CAD was selected as one of the agencies that will participate in the 2nd Annual River Region Alternative Gift Fair hosted by the 1st United Methodist Church of Montgomery, AL. The fair will be held Saturday, December 6, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Old Cloverdale School on Fairview Avenue. This event offers an “alternative” gift giving option by allowing gift-givers to fund specific, concrete needs of local nonprofit organizations. Please come out and support this wonderful opportunity! Autism Speaks Grant C W Kiwanis Club Grant e are very grateful to the Kiwanis Club of Montgomery Foundation for selecting CCAD as one of their grant recipients this year. Funds from the grant have allowed CCAD to set up a much needed multipurpose/training room (pictured above). Thank you again Kiwanis Club of Montgomery! CAD recently learned that it is the recipient of an Autism Speaks Grant! This generous grant will go to support a brand new project CCAD will introduce in the next few months: Kid Konnect. Kid Konnect will be a pilot program providing communication/social skill group sessions to preschool and elementary age children who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Thank you Autism Speaks for helping to make this vision a reality! Mark your calendar for our 4th annual CCAD Run for Autism! scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2015. The Center for Child and Adolescent Development • CCAD Connections • Fall/Winter 2014 Pecans for Autism in Montgomery Stores G lenwood’s Pecans for Autism are back! In its 38th year, this fund-raiser supports programs for individuals with autism and other behavioral health disorders. The various pecan treats will be sold during the holidays at several locations of Adams Drugs and all Winn Dixie grocery stores in the River Region area. These delectable treats will also be available for purchase year-round online at Glenwood.org and by phone, (866) 729-2189. CCAD Gives Thanks Thank you Chestnut Street Opry for selecting CCAD as a recipient of proceeds from one of their monthly gatherings. Thank you CVS Caremark for the gift card we received which was used to purchase items for our Speech/Language and ABA Clinic.
