The Christenbury Chronicle CHRISTENBURY COMMUNITY BOARD Jim Killoren V O L U M E I , I S S U E Community Developer Update At Large CCB Chair [email protected] Amy Carr Hall & Glen Representative [email protected] Mark Waldrop Woods & Trace Representative We owe a great amount of Gratitude to Argus Properties for all their efforts and expense in putting the traffic light in at the corner of Cox Mill Road and Christenbury Parkway. Argus Properties is the development entity who is in charge of the commercial property on the corner of Cox Mill Road and Christenbury Parkway. The city was not requiring them to install the light until the first tenant took occupancy in their commercial space, but Argus Properties heard the voice of the community and went ahead and put in the traffic light in order to help the residents and community with the traffic concerns at that intersection. [email protected] Johnny Lowe Mews Representative [email protected] Nathan Dent Walk & Chase Representative [email protected] 4 David Weekley Homes is finishing the homes they have under construction in Christenbury and then are not going to build any more homes in Christenbury. CLI is currently in a contractual due diligence period with Pulte Homes regarding them execut- O C T / N O V / D E C ing a contract to take over the 19 remaining lots in Christenbury Wood and 28 remaining lots in Christenbury Chase that were reserved for David Weekley. We have been working with the residents and the CCB in order to incorporate some of the specific requirements that they have asked to be incorporated into the homes that Pulte Homes has presented to build. We should have some final decisions from Pulte by the end of the month on which of the suggestions they are going to be able to incorporate and how they can address some of the other issues to alleviate some of the concerns the residents have addressed. We feel fortunate that Christenbury is still a very desirable community and therefore are able to attract a quality move up builder with an excellent reputation in the Charlotte market like Pulte and that will finish up the remaining lots in CCB Update In early September, the CCB met with the neighborhood to review and discuss the elevations provided by CLI and Pulte Homes for the options that will be built in Christenbury Wood. Thank You to all that came out, viewed the diagrams, and provided input. Rick Jasinski, CLI representative, was on hand to answer questions. The CCB and residents provided feedback to CLI and Pulte about items we felt needed to be incorporated into the plans to make any new Pulte Home fit with the character of Christenbury Wood. This includes to remove the smallest model, The Augustine. Most of the items will also apply to Christenbury Chase, which is also planned for Pulte to build. A response to the requests have not been received. Elevation designs for the Chase have not been received. Once a response from CLI and Pulte is received, the CCB will make available to the community. Current elevation designs proposed can be viewed on the Christenbury Village Facebook group (http://www.facebook.com/groups/christenbury) in the Files section. If not a member of the Facebook group, please request to join and you will be granted access. 2 0 1 2 these areas with a home product that will up hold the standards that Christenbury has become known for. Development work is under way on the Cul-De-Sac in Christenbury Glen that will separate that community from Christenbury Hall. This work will be ongoing till the end of October, but by the middle of October we expect to have the work substantially completed so there will be a clear separation and distinction between the two Villages with a a nicely landscaped Common Open Space separating the villages. A Note From Ryland Ryland Homes continues to have a fantastic 2012 and it wouldn’t be possible without all of the great neighbors, friends plus referrals we’ve received from our Christenbury family. Only six new home opportunities remain at Christenbury Mews and only 14 remain at Christenbury Trace. We’re thrilled to have such a beautiful community and we could not have enjoyed the success we’ve achieved without you. The past four months we have welcomed 10 new Ryland families to Christenbury. We’d love to finish out 2012 with many more! If you know someone who would love living the Christenbury lifestyle and would want to take advantage of move-in ready, ENERGY STAR Certified, all brick homes, please stop by and visit Vic Karam today. You always live life better in a new Ryland Home. Aerate, fertilize and seed your lawn for the fall. Include watering the turf to help wit the growth of the new grass until stabilized. Aerating, fertilizing, seeding, and watering are necessary to ensure a healthy lawn in the spring.
