Daily activities: The daily cycling trips (average
appr. 45 km) are fit for anyone who knows how
to cycle. The cycling speed will always be ‘easy
going’. You are leisurely pedalling from appr.
09:00 - 16:00 hrs. There’s enough time to take a
break and to do some sightseeing along the route.
If you’re not in the mood for cycling please stay
aboard for a day and enjoy the landscape floating
by! After all: It’s your holiday!

Besides, the best way to get to know a country or
region is by bike! HAT Tours is your specialist in
guided Cycling & Sailing Holidays. Pleasure and
relaxation always comes first when you travel
with HAT Tours!
Cycling Holidays
Stay: During each Cycling & Sailing Holiday
you’ll be staying and eating aboard a sailing hotel
barge. This ship travels from port to port and
will transport your luggage, meaning you’ll have
a ‘light’ cycle tour! Most ships are provided with
double cabins with private facilities, an attractive
dining room, sundeck and - on some ships - a
separate bar.
Fullboard: Each day starts with a large bikers
breakfast. You prepare your own packed lunch
(bread, fruit and drink) at breakfast. After your
cycle trip, after you freshened up, you may enjoy
a good 3-courses dinner.
Bicycles: For all cycling holidays we supply
suitable bikes (E-bikes on request) of good
quality. These are provided with hand brakes,
speed gears and a pannier.
Fellow travellers: During these small-scale tours
you’ll be with 18-24 fellow travellers of all ages
and nationalities. People who love to meet other
travellers and to experience an active but also
relaxed holiday.

Tour guidance: All Cycling & Sailing Holidays
will be accompanied by an enthusiastic and
multilingual tour leader. He/she guides you along
the fixed itineraries, informs you and will invite
you for some interesting city walks.
Crew: The crew of the ship will ensure that your
stay aboard is as pleasant as possible. The captain
is responsible for the safe transportation of the
passengers and their luggage. The chef and his
assistant take care of the preparation of your meals.
Family Specials: The target group for this
holiday is parents with children from 6 up to
11 years old. The cycling distances are generally a
bit shorter. Some days family orientated activities
will be presented. A ‘day off’ to spend with your
own family is also scheduled.
Bike & Hotel Holidays: With the help of a map
and an information package you cycle at your own
pace from hotel to hotel. You stay in charming
** or *** hotels. All rooms have private facilities.
Your luggage will be transported to each next
hotel by a local transporter.

This 4-day Cycling & Sailing Tour with departures
only in springtime shows you the best of Holland
in full bloom. Thousands of flowering tulips,
daffodils and hyacinths will welcome you in all
their unique beauty. You arrive by bike in the
historical centre of Haarlem. The next morning
your hotel barge takes you to the first highlight:
Flower Park Keukenhof. The cycle route
across the blossoming bulb fields ends in the old
university town of Leiden. Two typical Dutch
excursions are added to this holiday: a guided tour
of a windmill and a visit to a traditional cheese
farm where you are going to taste some great like
Gouda cheese. To attend the world’s biggest flower
auction in the world, FloraHolland in Aalsmeer,
you have to get up very early!

This scenic Bike & Barge Holiday roughly follows
the coastline of the former inland sea Zuiderzee,
now a lake called IJsselmeer. Lively ports and
a wide variety of landscapes are the ingredients
for this remarkable tour. From the historical
port of Hoorn you pedal through a green polder
landscape to Enkhuizen, where you embark and
sail to Friesland. Past lakes, waterways and
canals, the route leads to Ossenzijl, a village
situated in the heart of a unique marshland.

Included:
Some lively and atttractive towns can be found
on the banks of the winding river IJssel. In the
Middle Ages towns like Zutphen, Deventer
and Kampen, were part of the so-called
Hanseatic League. In their vicinity one finds
several grand castles and estates, often situated
in pretty nature areas. Within this tour a special
visit is planned to the Kröller-Müller museum,
located in our largest national reserve.

The museum shows a fine collection of Van Gogh
paintings and has a splendid park with statues
by many famous international sculptors. You
cycle and sail down the scenic river IJssel to

to Amsterdam passing another beautiful castle
called Muiderslot.

On arrival you first stay in Amsterdam and have

restored mansions along the river Vecht, the
impressive Castle De Haar and the Betuwe, a

certainly worth a visit. Leaving the fortified town
of Willemstad, you reach the Belgian border to
arrive in Antwerp in Flanders. Here it’s time to do
a tasting of Belgian beers, so a visit to a local pub

to the monumental city of Brussels. Standing
there at the Market Square, the Dam Square

After a sailing trip straight across the Amsterdam
centre, you start cycling in Hollands Green
Heart, a rural area that lies in between historical
towns such as Haarlem and Leiden. Joining your
guide for a city walk makes you feel like being
in another era! Around ‘cheese’ town Alkmaar
the cycling trip takes you to some impressive
traditional windmills. From the port of Hoorn,
which is filled up with traditional tall ships,
the cycling leads to Edam, another highlight!
Here you visit a former merchant’s house, now a
museum showing how life was in the 16th century.
The city of Amsterdam is awaiting and you may
wish to make an attractive round trip of the
Amsterdam canals.

You get acquainted with towns and villages
which were once situated at the former inland
sea known as Zuiderzee. Starting in the historic
town of Hoorn you cycle to Enkhuizen where
the ferry leaves for the other side of the IJssel
Lake. The open wide Frisian landscape will amaze
you while cycling to your hotel in the middle of
the Weerribben, a unique marshland area, now
a National Park. One of the highlights of this
tour is the passage of the village of Giethoorn,
often called ‘The Venice of the North’. From the
