Introduction
This monograph addresses the issues of individual assessment in human resources
management. In general, the monograph discusses the specific psychological
tests and focuses on the psychological context of the areas to be evaluated or
methods specified herein. It contains information on findings from research, as
well as our findings obtained during standardization of methods intended for
human resources management in Slovakia.
The monograph, as it stands, is also intended for readers outside of Slovakia. It
provides information that is little known abroad, about Slovakian psychological
assessment in occupational and organizational psychology, e.g. the chapter on
the history of psychological assessment in Slovakia.
The book summarizes psychodiagnostics in human resources management in
general and the purposes of psychological assessment. Further, it describes nonstandard evaluation techniques and extensive psychological testing methods.
Based on the foregoing, it provides information on the psychological assessment
process and on the properties of the psychological assessment and questionnaires.
The next section focuses on the areas of psychological assessment, which focuses
on the most commonly observed individual assessment areas, such as cognitive
skills, management decisions, personality traits and psychological types, motivation, interests, self-evaluation, coping with stress and incompetence.
The monograph is intended for psychologist, students of psychology, as well as
for assessment specialists in human resources management.
