DRAMA CLUB BOOSTERS!
THE ROHS DRAMA CLUB REQUESTS THAT YOU PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: The taking of photographs is prohibited. The videotaping or other video or audio recording of this producLon is strictly prohibited. Cell phones must be turned OFF. THANK YOU AND ENJOY THE SHOW! Only two years ago, there were no Drama Boosters. At that Lme the ROHS Drama Club was a very talented group of students that persevered, despite a lack of resources, including a bank account with a negaLve balance. A small group of parents gathered to see what they could do to help and formed the Royal Oak Drama Club Boosters. In two short years the bank account is full, the kids have access to talented adults with a wide variety of skills and there and there is team in place to make sure the ROHS Drama Club has smoother sailing for years to come. What was unexpected was that The ROHS Drama Boosters has become (by far) the most fun parents commiWee in Royal Oak High School! No longer do we meet in classrooms. Monday night meeLngs take place at Jimi’s with dinner and drinks and lively conversaLon. There are mulLple social gatherings throughout the year. And THINGS GET DONE! With the students and school partnerships, here’s a list of just SOME of what we have accomplished over the past two years. •

Dear Audience,
For many of us this is it. The last lines of this show will be our last time
on this stage and our last time performing together. We have been
through a lot together, we including you. All of the support and time you
give allows us to flourish to our full potential. Not only as actors, but as
leaders and individuals A thank you goes out to all the students involved. Through all the school
work, ACTs, college applications, choir and band performances, sports,
and everything else high schoolers deal with we were still able to pull this
off. Every single person involved has shown incredible dedication and
worked very hard to make the show what it is. To all the adults: this show would not have been what it is without all
that you do. We must thank our parents and volunteers, who show up to
drive us around, bring us food, help build the sets, and put up with us
being at rehearsal for hours on end. We might not always say it, but you
guys really are life savers. Thank you to Mrs. Brewer-Rollins, our teacher
sponsor. A shout-out to Pal, our new technical director, for jumping right
in to our family here. You have designed a fantastic set and done
wonderful work with our crews. To Ms. Ward, our amazing assistant
director, your guidance, and enthusiasm always brightens up our days.
Just saying thank you couldn’t be enough! Last but not least, to our
devoted and respected director Mr. Nahhat—thank you for your time
and dedication that has given us this show and this experience. Love, Your 2013-2014 Drama Club Officers

A note from our Director My own "Drama Club Coach" was Lorna Wildon, who directed the Thespian Club plays here at Kimball High School for over 30 years. She not only taught here, but was an accomplished painter, and remained the driving force behind the Royal Oak Arts Council's college scholarship program, and its Outdoor Art Fair, for many years. She supported the arts, and arLsts, her whole life. Our community lost a treasure when Lorna passed away last year. She le_ us her fine art, but also a living legacy: g e n e r a L o n s o f students whom she inspired to become adults who value the arts in our schools and in our community. I am one of them. Drama Coaches Ed Nahhat and Lorna WIldon So it was a special moment for me when Lorna came to see last spring’s producLon of Stage Door. We sat on the stage a_er the show, reminiscing; we had each directed the same play on the same stage thirty years apart. I am dedicaLng this producLon to Lorna Wildon, and to all the students whom I have tried to inspire, like she inspired me. Remember, you really can't take it with you.
