Jubah/abaya and hijab (for sisters) Sisters are to observe their awrah and modesty at all times All clothing must be long-sleeved and loose fitting Jeans and tight t-shirts are not allowed Hijab and clothing MUST NOT be transparent 4. For those with spectacles Safety band (for outdoor activities) MEDICATIONS AND HEALTH 1. Allergy pills 2. Personal medication 3. Insect repellents (critical item) 1. Parents/guardians are NOT ALLOWED to get involve as participants in the camp or to visit the child/children during the camp. 2. This camp has a strict ‘no-parent/guardians’ at camp policy so as to not distract the participants during the camp. This is to ensure the participants are given the opportunity to be independent and express themselves effectively. 3. Mobile phones will be kept by the organizers from day-one to ensure that there is no interruption during the camp. It will be returned to the participants on the last day of the camp. 4. Parents are to ENSURE that the participants DO NOT bring the following prohibited items to the camp: a. Media Devices (iPods, iPads, tablets, laptops, etc) b. Portable Gaming Devices (PSP, Nintendo, etc) c. Expensive Valuables (Jewelleries, expensive watches, etc) d. Sharp objects (Blades, swiss army knife, etc) e. Electronic cigarette / Vapes f. Cigarettes and lighter A security inspection will be carried out upon arrival at the campsite. Should the organizers found participants possessing the items above, the organisers have the right to confiscate those items. The items will only be returned to the participants at the end of the camp. THE ORGANIZER WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ACCIDENTAL LOSS OR THEFT OR DAMAGES. 5. Possession of illegal substances (such as drugs) and engaging in illegal activities such as bullying, vandalism, theft; amounts to an IMMEDIATE DISMISSAL from the camp. Parents/guardians will be notified and are expected to pick up the respective participants from the camp site. 6. The camp is designed to bring the participant out from their comfort zone. Discipline will strictly be imposed on the participants during the camp. 7. The camp will be fully conducted in English. However, the facilitators are bilingual. WHAT KIND OF ACTIVITIES WILL THE PARTICIPANTS BE ENGAGED IN? The youth learn the values of teamwork from participating in fun outdoor activities such as jungle trekking, survival, treasure hunt, explorace and edifying discussions. They are encouraged to reflect on the part they each play throughout the day in order to extract lessons from life. The objectives of these activities are to educate the youths on the importance of family values and serving mankind, In shaa Allah. WHAT ARE THE SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS DURING THE CAMP DURATION? There will be separate accommodation for Male and Female participants. The participants will be sleeping in a hostel & dormitory type room. Each unit is also equipped with toilet and shower. WHAT ARE THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS TAKEN DURING THE CAMP? DO YOU HAVE LIFEGUARDS DURING WATER ACTIVITIES? The organizers require that all participants adhere to strict safety guidelines during all activities carried out throughout the camp. Life jackets will be provided for all water activities. Qualified trainers and marshals will be present for close supervision. WHO IS INVOLVED IN CONDUCTING AND COORDINATING THE CAMP? The camp is conducted by FOQUS AKY Sdn Bhd who have years of experienced in handling camps and events for Al-Khaadem. Qualified trainers and instructors from the National Service camp will be present as well. HOW DO PARENTS CONTACT THE PARTICIPANTS DURING THE CAMP? The parents may contact the facilitators in charge whom their numbers are provided in this info pack. However, this is highly discouraging except for in emergency situations. He is the founder and the President of Al-Khaadem organization, born into a Buddhist family and later embraced Islam at the age of 18 in 1968. He received his formal Islamic Education in Madinah & Syria and also attended lectures by renowned Scholars such as Bin Baz and Nasiruddin Al-Albani (May the mercy of Allaah be upon them). He is a well-known personality in the international circuit of Da’wah giving regular lectures across the globe and appearances in Islamic Channel UK, IERA, Peace TV and many more. A soft spoken and humble character, he brings with him the wealth of knowledge on Islam and experience in the field of Da’wah for the young generation to learn to be inspired. Sheikh (Abu Muhammad) Naseem is graduate from faculty of Shari’ah at Islamic University of Madinah and the President of MECCA in Australia. He is currently teaching and mentoring students in Australia on general Islamic law. He has been with Al-Khaadem Youth Camp since 2014 and has inspired many youths in his motivational talks, eye-opening reminders and actively participates in most of the camp activities together with the youths. Participants are NOT ALLOWED to use their mobile phones during the camp to prevent disruption of the program flow.
