Pompeian, Inc., the leading national brand of olive oil, best-selling wine vinegars and cooking wines, has recently
invested $600,000 into a new Cooking Spray Production Line! In an effort to increase both their capacity and quality,
they have brought the entire production process, for their cooking sprays, in-house. This new production line will
bring new jobs to our facility and shows Pompeian’s commitment to bringing new business and manufacturing to the
great state of Maryland.

Pompeians’ Story
Before establishing their headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland in 1906, Pompeian Olive Oil Company was founded
amidst the hills of Tuscany. After settling in Baltimore, Pompeian began importing olive oil in bulk, then blending and
bottling it fresh daily here in the U.S.—the only national brand of olive oil to do so.
Unlike many olive oils sold in the U.S., Pompeian is a blend of olive oils produced in various regions rather than from a
single locale or company-owned grove. Since each year’s olive crop varies, Pompeian can select the season’s best olive
oils and then blend them to the same quality standards and consistent taste, year after year.
Quality At Its Finest
Pompeian is the first national brand of olive oil to participate in the USDA’s
Quality Monitoring Program (QMP). Pompeian volunteers and pays to
participate in this service that ensures that good manufacturing practices are
maintained by routinely monitoring and reviewing production records and
activity. The value of having the USDA QMP service is that USDA provides an
independent third party assessment, which helps us inform customers about
Pompeian’s commitment to product quality. This also benefits the olive oil
industry since it provides an additional guarantee that the olive oil displaying
the QMP seal is under independent third party verification. Look for the USDA
seal on Pompeian Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
