Van Damme Super Green enhanced AES/EBU
cable is a foil screen overall braid multicore and
PVC jacketed one pair cable optimised for the
long distance transmission of 96 KHz digital
audio signals. With its multicore construction
based on the already well proven Van Damme
black series this cable is ideally suited to the
rigours of touring systems. With many
manufacturers amplifiers now optimised for
96KHz AES/EBU inputs this range provides an
effective solution for getting from the FOH
mixing desk to the on stage
amplifier racks. In addition the
one pair type can be used for
rack wiring and non-LSZH
installations.

• Any 100 to 110 Ohm balanced data application such as

audio signals. Low capacitance and stable
characteristic impedance ensure that signals
remain error and jitter free over long
distances; also making this cable range
suitable for other critical data applications

three way RG6 type multicore cable for satellite
television and HD-SDI high definition video
signal distribution originally designed and
specified for the Marine market. Its Low Smoke
Zero Halogen jacket materials and fire
resistance and retardancy qualities make it
appropriate for installation in marine vessels and

Transmission length guidelines
These transmission lengths have been calculated throughout to a
maximum attenuation of -30dB at the frequency corresponding
to half of the actual signal data rate for SMPTE 259 and -20dB
for SMPTE 292 and 424. SMPTE and others advise that
90% of this cable length introduces an appropriate safety
factor- the chart below includes an 80% safety factor as
jitter and other factors can increase dramatically in the last
20% of a cable run.

The Van Damme SeaCat range comprises two
cables for networking installations a 4 way Cat 5E screened solid conductor
multicore and an 8 way version which also
contains a 4 way OM3 multimode fibre for

Aqua Series Super Marine Grade data multicores
Van Damme Super Marine is an extension to
the Van Damme SeaCat range; the data cable
element is a Category 6 S/FTP type individually foil screened pairs with an
additional overall screen. The individual
screening of the pairs gives excellent
crosstalk figures and the potential to run
mixed digital and analogue signals in the
same cable. Category 6 rating also gives
better headroom and therefore gigabit
Ethernet signals will run over longer distances
than with the Cat 5E SeaCat range. As with
the SeaCat range 4 x OM3 multimode fibres
are included in the multicore cables for 10G

Silver Series Session Grade instrument cable
The Silver Series
range comprises 3 unbalanced
instrument cables engineered to have
three specific capacitances. They are
primarily for use for guitar and bass
guitar to amplifier applications. The
construction of these cables utilises
a no compromise approach to materials
and electrical characteristics; consequently
flexibility is not a priority and these cables
are aimed at recording rather than live
performance.
Notes
• Within this range of cables capacitance is being used to produce different high
frequency roll offs which affects the sound of the source instrument at its destination
amplifier. Given the relatively low output level of a passive guitar pickup the cable
can act as a high frequency roll off filter
capacitance figure gives low high

• Overall capacitive effects will of course change over distance; a 10m Lo-
following cables:
• Lo-Cap 55: 55 p/F per metre. Low
• The exaggerated capacitive effects of these cables are only relevant with the

The HD Vision range of 75 Ohm precision
coaxial cables comprises a Low Smoke Zero
Halogen jacketed single coax and 4 and 6
way PVC jacketed dynamic multicores. Great
attention has been paid to their electrical

These transmission lengths have been calculated throughout to a maximum attenuation of -30dB at the frequency corresponding to half of the actual signal
data rate for SMPTE 259 and -20dB for SMPTE 292 and 424. SMPTE and others advise that 90% of this cable length introduces an appropriate safety factor
- the chart below includes an 80% safety factor as jitter and other factors can increase dramatically in the last 20% of a cable run.

SDI Vision Ecoflex LSZH ST 4.5
The SDI Vision range of 75 Ohm precision
coaxial cables comprises a Low Smoke Zero
Halogen jacketed single coax and 6 way
LSZH jacketed multicore. As with the Van
Damme HD vision range close attention has
been paid to their electrical characteristics
and tolerances to ensure trouble free
performance with SMPTE 259M SDI signals as
well as SDI analogue video.
These cables can also be used
for shorter distance
transmission of 1.485
Gb/s HD-SDI - please
see the transmission
length guidelines

Transmission length guidelines
These transmission lengths have been calculated throughout to a maximum
attenuation of -30dB at the frequency corresponding to half of the actual signal data
rate for SMPTE 259 and -20dB for SMPTE 292. SMPTE and others advise that 90% of
this cable length introduces an appropriate safety factor- the chart below includes an
80% safety factor as jitter and other factors can increase dramatically in the last 20%
of a cable run.

Red Series Plasma Grade video multicore
Van Damme Red Series Video multicores are 4
and 5 way versions of the Van Damme
standard 75 Ohm coaxes. Designed for use in
the Presentation and Broadcast industries, they
are commonly used for the transmission of
video signals such as RGBHV and RGB Sync
over longer distances - up to 100 metres for
analogue video signals. They are flexible and
also very robust and are ideal for multiple rig
and de-rig situations due to the attention paid
to their construction,
overall diameter and
weight.
Applications
• Extended transmission of RGBHV and RGB Sync video signals
• Can be used with confidence at 100 metres

Van Damme Red Series Miniature video
multicore are 2, 4, 5 and 20 way versions of
the Van Damme miniature coax. The 2, 4 and
5 way versions are exceptionally flexible and
are designed to seamlessly integrate with
industry standard multipin connectors such
as SVHS (4 pin mini din), D9 and

Van Damme AVI Series LSZH (Low Smoke
Zero Halogen) is a composite multicore cable
capable of transmitting RGBHV and
composite video combined with 4 AES/EBU
digital/analogue pairs and 3 tracers for
extended distance TX/RX RS232 data. The
multiple signal possibilities within this one
cable make it ideal for a general tie line cable
within installations - one cable pull will
support a host of potential applications.

Transmission Grade 11mm Triaxial camera cables
Van Damme 11mm triax cables are available
in 2 versions – a polyurethane (PUR) jacketed
solid centre conductor type for outside
broadcast use and a thermoplastic rubber
(TPR) stranded centre conductor type for
patching and studio floor applications.
Precision manufactured to ensure
compatibility with industry standard triax
connectors, these cables have a red outer
sheath in accordance with the UK convention.
Please note that 8mm and 14mm triax cables
and LSZH jacketed versions are all available
to special order subject to minimum order
quantities.
Applications
• PUR solid centre cable for long transmission lengths and
hostile environments typically found in outside broadcast situations
• TPR stranded centre cable for studio floor cameras and patching
• When used with triax connector to BNC adaptors can also be
used for long runs of serial digital video

Smart Control series
Van Damme Smart Control cables are
primarily for use with common automation
systems increasingly found in home and office
environments. These systems run a screened
twisted pair with an additional 2 wires for DC
voltages used, for example, for powering
remote programmable touch panels. For this
range Van Damme have used a 22AWG
AES/EBU 110 Ohm twisted pair as the data
pair allowing additional applications for the
cable such as DMX & power for lighting
colour changers.

• Control cabling for home automation systems
• DMX and power cables – e.g. for lighting colour changers

• 110 Ohm AES/EBU pair will also carry digital and analogue
audio, DMX, timecode and midi signals
