Art of the Tale
Do you know why you enjoyed a book, play or movie? Together,
let us take a journey with the author and understand writing
techniques and other devices used to make a tale more
enjoyable. This journey will allow us to enter the author’s
world, and we in turn may discover a new world of our own.
Let’s discuss the existential writers or are you still waiting for
(Beckett’s) Godot? Let’s discuss various methods of criticism,
and we will use Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights as an
example. There will be nothing too complex and at times we
may even use Cliff Notes or Baron if needed. Contact chair
Murray Kahl at 733-5686 or [email protected].

Greetings from your Total Health Systems Staff
Are you ready to get fit and exercise? THS is coming toValencia Pointe and we are excited to bring you classes, massage therapy, physical
therapy, equipment clinics, weight management and one-on-one personal training. Look for us in the beautiful new clubhouse.
Five Reasons NOT to Exercise
“I really hate exercise.”
“I just don’t have the time.”
“I’m embarrassed for others to see me in workout clothes.”
“I have no idea how to use any of the machines.”
“I’ve never exercised before – why should I start now?”
Sound familiar? The 5 reasons you should start an exercise regime in 2008
are as follows:
The I Hate Exercise Factor: Misery loves company. Why not join a class?
Most of the residents also hate exercise. Moaning and groaning together is
much more fun.
The Time Factor: This is really a matter of priorities. If you really want or
need to exercise, you can find the time.
The Embarrassment Factor: Look around you – you have nothing to fret
about. Within a few months of working out, you’ll be looking great.
The Machine Factor: This is a simple one: THS will teach you how to use
the fitness equipment. Watch for the scheduled equipment clinics.
The Why Now Factor: It’s never too late to get healthy! You’ll look better;
you’ll feel better; even your doctor will be happy.
Start now. It’s time to get on the road to fitness. The THS personal trainers
will assist and help you reach your goals.
Lose your weight in 2008! Call us for a free fitness evaluation. Join our Smart For Life, “weight management program.” Eat cookies, lose
weight. Call us to taste the cookies and for further information. Physical Therapy is available in your home at this time. However, it will
be available in the fitness center once it is opened. Treat yourself or your loved one to a relaxing and soothing massage in your home
for Valentine’s Day. To schedule an appointment for Physical Therapy, Massage Therapy or one-on-one personal training, or for more
information on the Smart For Life and Cookie programs, call 706-1141. Eat healthy, exercise and remember your vitamins!
