further test on site 4.8° E in principle possible; further test on site 7° E not possible too close to Terminal feed require special development 9° E not possible as same orbital position of Ka Sat 13° E possible with sufficient margins 16° E not possible due to strong interference and insufficient power satellites 19.2° E possible with sufficient margins 28.5° E possible for all official Freesat channels with margins of about 4 dB page 20 Multifeed 28.5 ° East == 19° E – 13° E – 4.8° E – 0.8° W == 5° W page 21 Summary q q The Tooway KA-SAT user terminal Accessories and Multifeed q q q q q q Satellite pointing basics Getting Spot configuration The pointing process The Modem GUI The beeper The Modem Signalling q Health and Safety page 22 Licensing for Tooway CEPT RECOMMENDATION: When a Terminal: •Receives in the exclusive Satellite Band 19.7-20.2 GHz • Is located more than 500 m away from any airport • Transmits in the Exclusive Satellite Band (29.5 – 30.00GHz) • Has a Transmit Power of no more than 2 Watt • Generates an EIRP of no more than 50 dBW NO INDIVIDUAL LICENSING IS REQUIRED This blanket license applies to most European countries but all installers must comply with local regulations Page 23 Paris, 5/8/2011 Network & Product Description page 23 Health & security Weight of antenna plus transceiver is 14Kgs Lifting the antenna over shoulder – new drawing Balance Fix transceiver after securing antenna on mast page 24 Health & security Assessing building earth Before linking the Tooway coaxial cable into the building earthing system you should assess the building earth. If the property does not conform to local regulations then the customer must be informed If the property does conform then you should earth the system to prevent static build up and or touch currents •Identify a suitable earthing location (e.g. socket, lighting circuit, electrical circuit) •Install a coaxial cable earthing block and earth as shown page 25 Summary q q q The Tooway KA-SAT user terminal Accessories and Multifeed Health and Safety q q q q q Getting Spot configuration The pointing process The Modem GUI The beeper The Modem Signalling q Satellite pointing basics page 26 Installation position/ Line of Sight There are 4 criteria for choosing a site for antenna installation 1. Clear Line Of Sight (L.O.S) 2. Suitable surface for fixing antenna mount 3. Cable route and distance – Max 50m 4. Safety page 27 Tooway manual Line of Sight There must be a 10 degree separation between the line of sight angle and any obstacles Normally a wall installation at high level gives the clearest L.O.S. page 28 Summary q q q q The Tooway KA-SAT user terminal Accessories and Multifeed Health and Safety Satellite pointing basics q q q q The pointing process The Modem GUI The beeper The Modem Signalling q Getting Spot configuration page 29 FWD link user beams page 30 Mapping and configuration > > > > > Color in the pdf RED GREEN BLUE YELLOW Color in Viasat GUI Number in Viasat GUI BLUE 1 ORANGE 2 PURPLE 3 GREEN 4 > Beam number Beam color Symbol rate Polarization > 1 Blue 50 19.73125 > 2 Orange 50 19.99375 > 3 Purple 50 20.11875 > 4 Green 50 19.85625 Center frequency RHCP RHCP LHCP LHCP page 31 Ka Sat finder > http://finder.tooway-instal.com page 32 Ka Sat finder > http://finder.tooway-instal.com page 33 KA-sat Finder iPhone page 34 34 Summary q q q q q The Tooway KA-SAT user terminal Accessories and Multifeed Health and Safety Satellite pointing basics Getting Spot configuration q q q The Modem GUI The beeper The Modem Signalling q The pointing process page 35 Tooway Terminal pointing procedure Presumption Modem installed and IFL connected to TRAI > > > > > > > > > > Zusammenbau der Antenne Richtigen SAT-Spot finden Modem und Laptop verbinden, enter 192.168.100.1 Goto Modem GUI Install menu; enter: 192.168.100.1/?page=install Korrekte Spotdaten eingeben => TRIA beeper starts Antenne einstellen => Modem lock tone Azimuth fixieren Elevation fixieren => continuous tone Antenna final fixation Pointing check (Daumen Check) page 36 Summary q q q q q q The Tooway KA-SAT user terminal Accessories and Multifeed Health and Safety Satellite pointing basics Getting Spot configuration The pointing process q q The beeper The Modem Signalling q The Modem GUI page 37 Terminal GUI 1.0.3 http://192.168.100.1 page 38 Terminal GUI 1.0.3 http://192.168.100.1/?page=install page 39 Terminal GUI 1.0.3 page 40 GUI Version 1.1.1 http://192.168.100.1 page 41 GUI Version 1.1.1 page 42 GUI 1.1.1 page 43 GUI 1.1.1 http://192.168.100.1/install page 44 GUI 1.1.1 page 45 GUI 1.1.1 page 46 GUI 1.1.1 page 47 Summary q q q q q q q The Tooway KA-SAT user terminal Accessories and Multifeed Health and Safety Satellite pointing basics Getting Spot configuration The pointing process The Modem GUI q The Modem Signalling q The beeper page 48 Az/El adjustment (E) Waiting picture with the correct antenna colour > Az adjustment > El adjustment page 49 Pointing Beeper process Phase In Az, Modem detect the first maximum Lower Beep Beep tone First maximum Constant Beep Beep tone Satellite Fwc carrier SNR AGC tone (bip bup), Modem Carrier detection and synch.
