OUR FOCUS
We believe that to bring about meaningful
change in individuals and communities, we
must be focused and accountable in three
key areas: Youth Development, Healthy
Living and Social Responsibility.
CHANGE
FOR GOOD
It’s exciting to present our programs
to you in a way that shows how the Y
nurtures the potential of kids, helps
people live healthier and supports the
community. We understand that change
can be frustrating and are prepared to
help you . . . just ask!

HER STORY
OUR STORY
For Shanice Williams, the Minority Achievers program is
more than a social club for teens, it is one of the reasons
she is better prepared for college and looks forward to life
beyond high school. She joined the group after a friend
invited her to one of their activities.
She has since found a family system in the Minority
Achievers – people that are there to support one another
and their goals. She has found a confidant to share
her problems with and help resolve her personal and
academic concerns.
Most importantly, the Minority Achievers changed
Shanice’s outlook on life, making her more appreciative
for what she has and her future because of
community outreach activities like serving
food at local soup kitchens and spending time
caring for others.
With the Y, you’re not just a member of a facility; you’re part of a cause.
With a focus on developing the potential of kids, improving individual
health and well-being, and giving back and supporting our neighbors,
your membership will bring about meaningful change not just within
yourself, but in your community, too.
Each member is issued a card when joining. This card should be
presented at the Service Center Desk when entering the building. Your
membership card is an important form of identification and is not
transferable. Loan of the card subjects the owner to loss of privileges.
All lost or stolen cards should be reported immediately. If you lose your
card, duplicates are available for $5.
Upon presentation of a valid, current membership card and driver’s
license or photo I.D. the Lake County YMCA will receive members of
other YMCAs for comparable use.
Always Welcome at Ys
The Lake County Y participates in the AWAY program and accepts
Y membership cards from all Ys outside a 50 mile radius at no cost. Members of Ys within a 50 mile radius are welcome to use the Lake
County Y at a discounted rate equal to half-off the regular guest
pass fee.
Exception to this would be those who are members of other YMCAs
who work or live within a 50 mile radius.
Be Our Guest
We believe in opportunities for all to experience the endless benefits the
Y has to offer. Become a part of our community to enjoy a positive social
experience like you’ve never had before. We want to get to know you
and you to know us.
Guests must present a driver’s license or other photo identification and
pay a fee as described below. A guest pass may only be used for one
(1) visit and must be purchased on the day of use. Guests are limited to
three (3) visits per calendar year. Each Y may suspend guest pass sales
during busy times to better accommodate members.
FEE* $5 Youth
$10 Adult
$15 Family *Different guest fees apply for the Outdoor Y

Some Things to Remember
• When classes fill, a waiting list is used to fill class cancellations or
newly formed classes.
• Payment is due upon registration.
• A class age requirement must be met on or before the class session.
• In case of absence, some classes may be made up within the current
session. See your instructor to make arrangements.
• The Y reserves the right to cancel classes if enrollment minimums are
not met.
• Sometimes excellent classes are cancelled when too many people wait until
the last minute to register. It’s always a good idea to register at least one
week before the class or special event begins.
Program Refund Policy
All program fees are to be paid at the time of registration. If the class is
cancelled or you cancel registration prior to the first class a 100% refund
or system credit will be issued. All other situations will be handled at the
Program Director’s discretion. System credits will be valid for one year.
There are no refunds on membership payments. Memberships may not be
transferred to another person.

SWIM, SPORTS & PLAY
The Y is the starting point for many youth to learn about becoming and
staying active, and developing healthy habits they will carry with them
throughout their lives. Whether it’s gaining confidence that comes from

sportsmanship and teamwork, our swim, sports and play programs build
the whole child, from the inside out.
Competitive Teams
Teams are a long time Y tradition. We invite you to work together with new

Lake Health, Lake Metroparks, and the Lake County Y have joined forces

basketball, and performing household chores into steps.
When you join the 10,000 Steps Program, you’ll receive a pedometer, a
