Custom Skeletal Articulations and Cleaning “For in the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. We will understand only what we are taught.” - Baba Dioum Skulls Unlimited International, Inc. is the world’s leading supplier of osteological specimens. In addition, we currently prepare thousands of skulls and skeletons every year for a growing clientele of educational facilities, museums, medical facilities, zoological gardens, nature enthusiasts, collectors and taxidermists worldwide. Each specimen at Skulls Unlimited’s 14,000 square foot facility is carefully prepared with the use of dermestid beetles: Museums have been using the method of employing beetles for over 100 years. Skulls Unlimited has made this museum quality preparation available to all public and private interests. With over 30 years of experience, you can be confident that we will expertly prepare your specimens without shrinkage of the bone, teeth cracking or falling out, softening of the bone or damage from over boiling. Your specimen will be in the finest condition possible after you have utilized our services and facility. We’re certain that you will be satisfied with our quality, our service and our workmanship. Skulls Unlimited will not be responsible for any damage incurred from shipping, field care or processing in our facility. However, every effort will be taken to care for your specimens in our laboratory and during return shipment. We take great pride in the care we give every arriving specimen. If excessive damage is noticed upon receiving the specimen, you will be notified. Since it is not possible to list every species, all prices are intended as a guide. Skulls Unlimited International provides the finest museum quality articulated and disarticulated skeletal specimens available. Each specimen is cleaned and whitened to exceed educational standards. Meticulous craftsmanship and research provide interesting and accurate poses, which clearly illustrate the uniqueness of each species. Disarticulated skeletons make comparative anatomy easy by opening the door to side-by-side comparison of individual bones. Unassembled specimens also offer an unforgettable handson learning experience about the attachment of joints and muscles as well as show the strength and intricacy of the underlying frame of many animals. Large animals, custom orders and exhibits are available. For the cost of the mount and labor, we will mount your trophy to a custom pedestal base. Skulls Unlimited International stands alone in our use of non-removable banding straps uniquely designed for our needs. Each strap has its own serial number that is never used again, to assure proper return. When a specimen arrives to our door, we tag it immediately with it’s banding strap that stays attached throughout all of our processing steps, storage and shipment. Alternatively, if you would prefer to buy the pedestal and assemble it yourself, it is easy to self-mount your specimen to the base. This classic 9 ½˝ x 13˝ base is available in oak and walnut finishes. It also rotates so it may be displayed as a pedestal or a wall mount. Shipping Procedures The cost of the pedestal is $49.00 Labor to mount your trophy $35.00 1. Specimen must be drained of all excess moisture and well-frozen. If we are shipping your trophies, we recommend not mounting Horned and Antlered skulls to the pedestal, as this will only raise shipping costs and increase the risk of damaging your trophy. 2. Wrap in two inches of newspaper and place in a sealed plastic bag. Whitetail Skull (on Walnut Plaque) 3. Pack in a sturdy container such as styrofoam or thick cardboard.
