Add efficiency to your
supply chain: Kitting
If you would like more
information about kitting
and benefits for your
company please contact us.
One Unique Part Number representing multiple parts and multiple suppliers. As an MRO
or Airline you know that time is money. Why should you spend your time looking for and
ordering multiple loose parts from various suppliers or spend valuable internal resources when
you can order a kit from Avio Diepen?
Avio-Diepen offers a variety of fully
customized kits because not all repair jobs
are the same. When working with kits your
mechanic receives one labeled package
sealed and bar-coded for a complete “job”.
All parts are, of course, traceable and smart
packaging allows for easy and efficient
handling. Instead of spending time looking
for a part, your mechanic will be completing
the job since all parts are on hand. This
increases efficiency and reduces labor cost.
Advantages of Kitting:
•Reduced Logistics Cost: Multiple parts
of multiple suppliers in one kit
•Improved Operations Efficiency: All
parts for a job come in one package.
•Reduce Workload at Procurement:
One PO instead of multiple.
•Optimization of Inventory
Management: Improved Availability of
Parts; reduced number of active PNs.
•Optimization of Warehouse
Management: Reduced number of
SKUs
•All parts fully traceable. All Documents
and Certificates can be provided by
Avio-Diepen.
Your cost savings increase
with the number of components
in the kit.

This type of discharger is manufactured from
advanced thermo-set plastics and offers a
number of advantages over the conventional
design. These include less weight, improved
noise resistance, lightning strike resistance and
low cost of ownership, all this while bringing
tomorrow’s technology to today’s aircraft.
THERMOCOAX Airbus Sensors
now distributed by Avio-Diepen
THERMOCOAX, an Airbus Tier One
Supplier, has over 50 years experience
in thermal solutions and temperature
measurement. It has manufacturing plants
located in France, Germany and the USA.
Negacoax Overheat Sensors
THERMOCOAX developed the
NEGACOAX sensors, a unique overheat
and fire detector based on mineral insulated
cable technology.
This type of sensor is used for the early
detection of overheating of aircraft
equipment, and is available for a wide
range of alarm temperatures, from 104°C up
to 400°C. These sensors are used in bleed
air in the wings, along the pylon, around
the APU and gas turbine. This technology is
already used on civil and military aircraft,
including Airbus, Boeing/MDC, Global
Express, SAAB and Jaguar.
Avio-Diepen will be focusing on the range of
products used in Airbus aircraft.

Qualification of Orcotape® OT-40N
Aircraft Carpet Tape to Boeing
Materials Specification (BMS5-133)
Orcotape® OT-40N is ideally suited for
the use with aircraft carpets in heavy-traffic
areas. It allows hassle-free removal and
installation with as much frequency as
needed. The tape’s unique design ensures
that it comes away with the carpet without
leaving adhesive residue or damaging
the floor board. No additional floor
board clean-up is required after removal.
Orcotape® OT-40N handles easily during
installation and requires no special tools as
it is easily cut on-the-spot thanks to its unique
scrim construction.
Orcon Corporation has announced the
successful Boeing BMS5-133 Type IV Class 1
qualification of Orcotape® OT-40N, the new
lightweight, differential tack aircraft
carpet tape.
Orcotape® OT-40N is designed keeping the
safety of our environment in mind – it meets
and exceeds all currently applicable US EPA,
EU REACH and Boeing environmental and
material safety standards.
With a typical weight of 4.5 oz/yard2
(153 g/m2), switching from heavier, cloth
based carpet tape products to Orcotape®
OT-40N allows for a 17 to 20 lbs (7.5
to 9.0 kgs) weight saving for most narrow
body aircraft carpet installation projects. Of
course, these weight savings are far more
substantial on wide body fleets.
Orcotape® OT-40N, in compliance with
Boeing BMS5-133, is designed to be
applied onto the floor panels first. For
applications that call for initial application to
floor covering (carpet) backing instead,
we would like to recommend Orcotape®
OT-41N, a reverse wound version of
Orcotape® OT-40N.
Orcotape® OT-40N is available in 25 and
60 linear yard rolls. Standard widths are:
1” (25mm), 2”(50mm), 3”(75mm),
4”(100mm) & 6” (150mm).
For additional information on this and other
Orcon Corporation products, please contact
your local Avio-Diepen sales representative.

Transition from
Orcotape® OT-40 to
Orcotape® OT-40N
The current revision of the Boeing
BMS5-133 Type IV Class 1 lists both
Orcotape® OT-40 and Orcotape®
OT-40N on the Boeing QPL. Due to
the focus on OT-40N certification that
meets the new Reach Export standards
as well, OT-40 certification to
BMS5-133 has discontinued as from
October 31st 2012. Please note that
OT-40 offers the same benefits as
OT-40N and the existing stock of
BMS5-133 certified Orcotape® can
be used until depleted. Avio-Diepen
guarantees you will be provided
with certified tape. OT-40N will be
available as from January 2013

The Bergen Cable Technology
SAFETY CABLE System™:
Easier to install, faster to remove!
Applying lockwire to bolts
is one of the most time
consuming, yet critical jobs
in aircraft engine, airframe
and component assembly.
We still see customers in the
market who do not take the full benefits of the
relatively small part of the market is using the
Bergen Cable Technology SAFETY CABLE
System™ : the alternative to troublesome
and time-consuming lockwire. Compare
the Bergen Cable Technology SAFETY
CABLE System™ to traditional lockwire and
experience that it secures fasteners during the
manufacture or repair of aircraft components
in half the time. Easier to install, faster to
remove are the key statements for the Bergen
SAFETY CABLE System™.
The SAFETY CABLE System™ consists of three
basic components:
1.SAFETY CABLE™Available in three diameters, 0.020, 0.032
and 0.040 inch and various standard
lengths from 6 to 24 inches, three different
materials - 321 stainless steel, 304 stainless
steel and Inconel 600. The assembly
consists of a fitting swaged on one end of
the cable and the open-end of the cable
fused to prevent fraying. (sold per quantity of
50 cables per size)
2.Safety Cable Ferrules prepackaged in a spring-loaded disposable
skydrol resistant magazine of 50 Ferrules.
3.Safety Cable Tool
- the tool tightens the cable, crimps the
ferrule and cuts the access cable flush with
the ferrule all in one motion. Safety Cable
System minimizes operator training, it installs
in roughly half the time and the Safety Cable
Tool is ideal for use in tight places where
accessibility is limited.

New Line of
Brochures for
Avio-Diepen &
AD-S&Co
Avio-Diepen launched its new line
of brochures during the MRO 2012
in Amsterdam.
The new style contains crystal clear
up-to-date information, uses lighter
colors and creates more uniformity.
AD-S&Co, Avio-Diepen’s sister company
which focuses on the helicopter
aftermarket, also restyled its brochures
using the same layout but using different
color combinations.

Amsterdam A4 Event
Amsterdam, Aviation, ADvantage &
Avio-Diepen came together on October
10th.Avio-Diepen organized an A4 fun
event for its customers and suppliers during
the MRO Europe, which took place in
Amsterdam this year. After gathering
everybody at a typical Amsterdam café, a
vintage canal boat built in 1910 was ready
to set sail for a trip through the Amsterdam
canals and all guests were welcomed along
with champagne and finger food. The trip
took the party past all the sights Amsterdam
is famous for and then set course to Jamie
Oliver’s Restaurant ”Fifteen”. After a lovely
dinner we set course back to the Okura
hotel. We would like to thank all our guests
for joining us for a great evening.
