Age Management . . .
A Smart, 21st Century Practice
Age management medicine is
just that—scientifically sound,
evidenced-based medicine. It is not
part of the anti-aging movement,
nor does it claim to increase
longevity or affect aging at cellular
levels. Equally important, it is
not founded on unsubstantiated
claims or pseudo-science.
AMM sees aging as a natural process
(not a disease) that can be managed
with innovative programs. As trained
age-management physicians, we
can incorporate well-known and
accepted markers of disease risk
into proactive patient management,
making it possible to prevent
premature disability and death
while helping patients regain and
maintain optimal health and vigor.
A certified age-management
physician uses hormone modulation
for the endocrinologically “normal”
by identifying hormone levels, which
yield superior health outcomes. For
most hormones, that is the upper
25% - 30% of the normal range for
the patient’s age. The exceptions are
insulin, cortisol and hGH. Reducing
insulin and cortisol levels to the
lower end of the normal range for
the patient’s age is key—whereas
hGH modulation is considered only
when a comprehensive evaluation
reveals an adult onset growth
hormone deficiency (GHD).
Backed by extensive training, the
AMM physician can accurately
evaluate a patient’s health status
in terms of age-management
goals and initiate an appropriate,
individualized hormonal modulation
therapy program. The physician
examines hormones that decline
with age, the timing and degree of
that decline as well as the related
physiologic consequences—knowing
www.cenegenicsfoundation.org
hormone modulation’s risks and
benefits, regarding sex hormones,
thyroid hormone, melatonin and growth
hormone (for adult onset GHD).
Controlling levels and achieving
balance with hormones contributing to
the aging process are key. Therefore,
a critical component is added to
the age-management protocol: the
synergy of optimal low-glycemic
nutrition, appropriate nutrient
supplementation, physical exercise and
recommended lifestyle adjustments.
Along the way, a qualified agemanagement physician adjusts the
hormone dose and related therapies,
addressing any side effects. Patients are
monitored to determine the treatment’s
efficacy with periodic diagnostic testing
to determine progress objectively and to
keep patients as disease-free as possible.

More Benefits
You’ll appreciate the evidenced-based approach and solid science used in our training and certification program. In fact,
prestigious institutions and medical journals consistently publish articles, validating the therapies you will learn.
To stay on the progressive—yet medically grounded—edge, we also continually expand our affiliations: The Cenegenics
Education and Research Foundation is conducting a retrospective review study with the University of Miami Miller School
of Medicine. Results of this study will be submitted in early 2007 for publication in a peer-reviewed journal.

PROVEN ETHICAL BUSINESS AND MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES.

Aging: Signs & Symptoms
Currently, it’s not possible to affect biological aging at the cellular level
or increase longevity per se. However, the indicators of aging can be
delayed. In some instances, these signs and symptoms can be relieved—and
even reversed—by restoring optimal endocrine balance (upper end of the
normal range for the patient’s age), creating better system integration.
Extending Health Span
We can enhance vitality through nutrition, exercise and hormone
optimization. By extending our health span, we can take advantage of
future medical breakthroughs, which may result in increased longevity.

Interactive Hormones
All our hormones are interactive; deficiencies and/or excesses rarely
exist alone. Think of a symphony orchestra playing Beethoven’s
Ninth. You need all the instruments and the choir. “The whole is
greater than the sum of the parts.” Never was there more truth in
this statement than when applied to the endocrine system.

This part of the training demonstrates
your competency in AMM. There
are 50 questions, covering basic
science/clinical science and 20
real-life case studies, all multiplechoice. To answer these case study
questions, you must consider the
complete patient history and be able
to interpret the laboratory results
accompanying each case, based on the
standardized dosing algorithm given
during the formal training modules.
Eligibility for Part 2 hinges on
satisfactory completion of Part 1
and being licensed in good standing
in the state you are practicing. After
finishing Part 1 at the training site,
a battery of basic science/clinical
science questions and case studies
are completed as a home study.
A Cenegenics Education and
Research Foundation certificate is
awarded when Parts 1 and 2 are
successfully completed. The certificate
states the certificate holder has met
certain standards and has passed an
examination conducted by Cenegenics
Education and Research Foundation
(CERF) and the Foundation for Care
Management (FCM), demonstrating
to the satisfaction of CERF that the
certificate holder has the training

Evaluation for AMA PRA
Category 1 Credits™
A standard evaluation of the learning
process is conducted, using a Likert
scale. The evaluation also asks if
the presentation of the case study
content is balanced (commercially
unbiased) and requests the participant
for a commitment to change. The
knowledge gained is measured using
case studies, reviewed by the participant
and validated by the faculty.
“An excellent course in age
management. It gives me the
reassurance and confidence
to further develop my age
management practice.”
“A great training and a great
learning experience.”
“This portion of the
training is imperative . . . to
completely understand and
implement age management
medicine.”
“Probably the best and the
most serious [course] . . . on
age management medicine.”
This evidenced-based education
requires a six-month, follow-up
survey with all participants to
determine the extent the educational
experience changed their clinical
practice and to determine their need
for further education in AMM.
On the summary evaluations, 97%
rated the course good to superior,
