Car Cruise Indian Nations with Dragin Masters
Pontiac Tracks
The Indian Nations Chapter had a great opportunity for a fun cruise this past week and for those who didn't attend you
missed some good times. 9 Club members attended the monthly Dragin Masters Car Club cruise we were invited on.
We met at 8am in Prattville and jumped in line with the Dragin Masters for a cruise to Blackwell OK to look at a
private car collection. One reason our club got invited, mixed in with the group of cars was 4 extremely nice Pontiacs.
63 Grand Prix, 63 Cataline, 65 GTO and a 59 Pontiac. Come to find out the 65 and 59 was at our Convention in 2007
in the points judged show. Among the Pontiacs were several other cars ranging from Vettes, to Mopars and Chevys.
After leaving there we headed to a Mexican restaurant that was waiting on us and we all enjoyed very much the fine
dining. Upon finishing up there we then headed another 30 miles to Caldwell KS to look at another private collection
of Corvettes. This guy had just about every design model respresented. All stuffed inside a small downtown store
front.
We then started heading home and thanks to Larry Miller the whole group stopped at Dairy Queen for one last stop of
fun. Yes, Larry M ordered 2 separate ice cream treats. After rolling back to our cars we all headed home. Hopefully in
the future and for our May 14th event we will get more club members jumping on board our cruises, they are always
fun for the entire family.

CAR OF THE MONTH

Here's a few pictures of the 62 Tempest Gasser I'm building. I'm posting pictures on my Facebook page
of the progress but I know we have some members that aren't on fb so I figured I'd send you a few.
I picked up the car in Chicago back in Oct 2015. There is a LOT of rust so it's not like I'm hot rodding a
really nice car.
Fortunately the person we got the car from gave us a hood, decklid, doors and fenders from a donor car
so that helps with some of the rust issues. Unfortunately the front floor is toast so that's going to be a lot
of work. This past weekend I worked on getting a transmission tunnel fitted so the TH 400 will fit. The
engine is pretty much done outside of bolting on some of the outside goodies. Once I get the 428ci fitted,
I'll be building another set of fenderwell headers too. Thanks for letting me show off my project and hope
to hang out with you guys soon, Dil

PONTIAC OAKLAND CLUB INTERNATIONAL
The Pontiac-Oakland Club International was formed in 1972 by Mr. Don Bougher when he began to restore a 1926
Pontiac. It was Don's concept that there should be a listing of Pontiac owners. With such a list, car owners could easily find
the parts necessary to repair their Pontiacs. The idea caught on, and pretty soon, the list became a newsletter, the newsletter
became a monthly magazine and the magazine turned the organization into a 10,000 plus member worldwide club! This club,
POCI, is dedicated to the restoration and preservation of both the Pontiac and Oakland automobile.
POCI members own a wide variety of Pontiacs and Oakland vehicles. There is something for everyone, from the
purest to the customizer, the antique car owner to the new car purchaser.
Members of POCI enjoy the free classified advertising, the ability to join local, as well as non-regional chapters, a
club store, library, technical restoration help, and the listing of his/her vehicle's) in the annual POCI Roster. Members also
enjoy attending and participating in the annual POCI conventions, which are hosted by a chapter who has competed for the
opportunity to be hosts of such an exciting and family oriented event.
The annual membership fee includes your subscription to the monthly magazine Smoke Signals, and by joining
POCI, you are then eligible to join a local chapter.
Local chapter dues vary somewhat, but are generally between $10-$20. These two combined entities create a powerful team in
helping fulfill the mission of POCI.
All of this information and more can be found on the POCI website at www.poci.org
