G&G Longhorns
Ben & Ann Gravett have been raising Texas Longhorns at G&G Longhorns
since 1988. What began as a natural extension of their interest in agriculture
has evolved into one of the leading programs in the breed.
For many years, the Gravetts have hosted the Cherry Blossom Sale to
offer their cattle and also provide a place for their customers to market
through consignments. The Gravetts are also the founders of the successful
Millennium Futurity.
Always willing to serve, Ben has been active on several boards at the national
level, along with being a major supporter of the breed through contributions
and donations including those to the Longhorn World Championship.

the foothills of the Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains. Gennin Longhorns is

Pay it Forward Ranch
Lee & Debbie bought their first “couple” of Longhorns (actually 3) in 1996
from Ben Gravett. During the following years, they continued to purchase
a “couple” more in order to raise lean beef for the family. They attended
their first sale in Culpeper, VA, with the intent of just selling two bull calves.
Debbie purchased a “couple” (3 again) more at the sale, where they met a lot
of great and very helpful people. Lee & Debbie started their beef business
in 1999 and sold a “couple” of head a year (more like 75) for retail beef
sales. In 2001, they purchased a 176-acre farm to have more room for their
“couple” of Longhorns. In 2008, another 400-acre farm was leased for hay
making and to have more room for the Longhorns. “We started in 1996 with
a ‘couple’, were never going to have more than six, and in 2011, I was up to
212 head,” says Lee. They are Lifetime Members of ITLA and members of
TLBAA, serving two terms on the board of directors. They are also one of
the original Founding Members of the TLMA. Lee says, “We have met more
wonderful people and had more enjoyment working with the people and
the cattle than any other hobby I have done in my lifetime. We have never
regretted it. Debbie is a massage therapist, and if I could get her to massage
them, I could start my own line of Longhorn Lean Kobe Beef.”

Gray’s Longhorns
Eric and Chuck Gray of Gray’s Longhorns in Virginia purchased their first
Texas Longhorn in 2010. The next year, they purchased a heifer from Lee
Sherbeyn, who told them they couldn’t stop at just two. Their herd has now
grown to 20. They continue to improve their herd with the help and advice
from fellow breeders like Lee Sherbeyn and Bear Davidson.
