Doctor Panic
Onitama
In Doctor Panic, you are a surgical team from the most prestigious
hospital in the area. Your goal: work together as a team to save a
patient who just arrived on a stretcher before time runs out!
Onitama is a two player abstract strategy game where players
take on the role of a Master, guiding their monk followers, attempting to defeat your opponent armed only with a handful of
moves, your cunning and your wits! In Onitama, players will vie to
capture their opponent’s Master, or, traverse their Master across
the board to their opponent’s Master’s starting position to win
the game. To do this, you will be armed with a handful of special
and ancient maneuvers, presented on beautiful Tarot size cards,
that manipulate the field of battle to your
advantage. Will you use the Dragon to
overpower your opponent, the Horse
to outmaneuver them, or the Cobra to
strike quickly? With multiple moves to
make every game unique, the speed,
the grace, and the unique play style of
Onitama truly makes this an Essential
game for any gamer’s collection!
To accomplish this, you need to perform a series of medical treatments that have been prepared before the game. One or more
players serve as overseers — emergency room managers, as
it were — and they give tasks to the other medical personnel on
hand: find a combination of drugs in this batch of cards; figure
out the dose you need to administer by consulting this chart;
stitch up a wound by “stitching” on a game board with needle
and thread; and so on. If you
complete all of the treatments
before the final heart attack
on the soundtrack, you are
victorious! If not, you’ll have to
receive additional training...
