CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT TIMES: In most cases check-in
time is 3.00pm and check-out time is 11.00am.
ACCOMMODATION FEATURES: Room features
described in this brochure relate to the basic room
category. Room features may differ for other room
categories.
MAX. IN ROOM: For each room category the
maximum number of persons per room is shown,
this may be a combination of adults and children.
Please check prior to booking.
ROOM TYPES: Most hotels offer rooms with two
beds (twin) or one double/queen sized bed for
use by one or two persons. For triple share a third
bed (rollaway) is added, except when the room
contains two double beds. Some hotels also offer
family rooms (two adults/two children) comprising
two double beds. These are normal-sized rooms
and may therefore be quite crowded. If an extra
rollaway bed or a baby cot is required, the charge
must be paid directly to the hotel.
ROOM DEPOSIT: Guests will be required to establish
credit with a refundable deposit or a major credit
card imprint for incidental charges.
PEOPLE WITH A DISABILITY: Some properties
featured provide a range of facilities for people
with a disability. Please refer to the
Accommodation Features grid on page 38.
RUN OF HOUSE: A ‘Run of House’ room is the
description given when a hotel will allocate any
room type available at time of check-in.

you to compare each property. Ratings are provided solely
for the guidance of our customers and have no equivalent
in any other rating system. Properties are assigned a half
rating if they are a little extra special in their category. This
could be because of location or extra facilities offered. The
ratings used apply to the overall quality of the property.
TT Budget accommodation offering limited public
TTTTT Deluxe establishments providing the highest
international standards of accommodation and cuisine. With
an excellent range of facilities and outstanding service,
properties in this category are considered the best available
in the country.
Qantas operates direct services from Australia to
Honolulu three times per week. This means sameday connections with Aloha Airlines to Maui, Kauai
and Hawaii, and eliminates the need to overnight in
Honolulu.

CLIMATE
As the islands are located in the tropics,
temperatures remain fairly stable year round.
The temperature is also influenced by several winds.
Trade winds from the east and northeast keep the
air balmy most of the year, while the ‘kona’ - a
leeward wind - may bring sticky weather during
summer and storms in winter. Winter trade winds
bring frequent rain to many areas but in spring and
summer, showers are uncommon.

Maui
Oahu
The island of Oahu is the gateway to
Hawaii. Its capital, Honolulu is home to
one of the world’s most famous
beaches, Waikiki Beach. It is a thriving
city boasting great shopping, fine
dining, an exciting nightlife and historic
sights. Honolulu’s large harbour still
bears scars from the Japanese attack on
Pearl Harbor in 1941. Visitors can tour
the site including the haunting Arizona
Memorial.
Beyond Honolulu there is much to see
and do. Not far from the city you’ll find
rural communities, a beautiful coastline
dotted with over 50 beaches, many at
which you can swim, surf and snorkel.
Visit Sunset Beach, Waimea Bay and the
tropical marine park of Hanauma Bay.
Lush rainforests abound and fantastic
views can be seen from a host of
lookouts.
Maui
Maui is consistently voted one of the
best island destinations in the world.
Dominated by the extinct Haleakala
Crater, Maui is a paradise which offers
visitors as much adventure or relaxation
as they desire.
By day there are unlimited marine
activities, some of the best golf courses
in the world, lovely beaches and
stunning resorts. By night there is a
variety of restaurants to suit all budgets
and a thriving nightlife.
River will lead you to a lovely fern
grotto.The dramatic Napali coastline is
spectacular and can only be viewed by
boat or helicopter.
Maui’s main town Lahaina, was once
the whaling capital of the Pacific. Today
it is a lovely township brimming with
shops and a large selection of
restaurants and bars.
A drive along the Hana Highway is a
must, revealing waterfalls, blowholes,
black sand beaches and dramatic
volcanic soils.
Kauai
Kauai is the oldest of the Hawaiian
Islands and is a tropical paradise of
unspoilt beauty. It is covered by dense
rainforests alive with plunging
waterfalls, navigable rivers and tropical
vegetation. Because of its outstanding
natural beauty, over 50 movies have
been filmed in Kauai including
blockbusters such as Jurassic Park and
classics such as South Pacific.
The coastline offers some excellent
beaches that are great for swimming,
and the snorkelling at Lydgate Park is

Hawaii - The ‘Big Island’
The largest island, Hawaii is the most
diverse in the Hawaiian group. It was
formed by five volcanoes and Mt
Kilauea is currently one of the world’s
most active. The continuous volcanic
activity and mineral rich in volcanic
substances have resulted in contrasting
lands and stunningly crystal-clear
waters. The Kona-Kohala coast boasts
black, white and green sand beaches to
snorkel and swim at, coffee plantations
and historic monuments.
Getting Around
Car hire is a popular and easy option
for exploring the Hawaiian Islands.
Travelling between the islands is also
easier than ever! The new Qantas flight
schedules allow same-day connections
with Aloha Airlines flights to Maui,
Kauai and Hawaii - The ‘Big Island’.
An island where lovely resorts and golf
courses feature amongst an eerie lunarlike landscape formed by lava flows
ensure that visitors will be amazed.
The easiest way to explore the island is
by car. A visit to Volcanoes National
Park is a must whilst the eastern side of
the island is rich and green with lovely
waterfalls and beautiful tropical flowers.
Car Hire
The best way to explore the Hawaiian
Islands is to hire a car (refer to page 9).
It also provides you with great flexibility
and convenience. On the outer islands
public transport tends to be very
limited, but for those with a car the
roads are uncrowded and easy to
navigate. Remember that in Hawaii
driving is on the right-hand side of the
road. Be sure to always follow the
traffic signs and obey the speed limits
which are strictly enforced.
Aloha Airlines
Each of the islands is in close proximity
being no more than 20-30 minutes
apart by air. Aloha Airlines operates
regular scheduled services between all
of the islands by jet or non-jet aircraft.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Pride of Aloha - this 77,104 tonne ship, began
cruising in Hawaii in October 2004. All Staterooms
offer television, refrigerator, in-cabin safe,
hairdryer, air-conditioning, radio, room service and
bathroom with shower. Other on-board facilities
include 6 dining rooms/restaurants, 13 bars/
lounges, casino, 2 swimming pools, 5 hot tubs,
fitness centre, jogging track, internet cafe, 2 golf
driving nets and children’s centre.
Pride of America - a relatively new passenger
ship, the first in nearly 50 years to sail under the
American flag, began sailing in Hawaii in July 2005.
Pride of America has 1073 cabins, each offering
television, radio, telephone, refrigerator, in-cabin
safe and air-conditioning. The ship has 8
restaurants, 10 lounges/bars, 2 swimming pools,
children’s facilities, a conservatory, tennis court, an
art gallery plus much more.
Pride of Hawaii - Hawaii’s newest ship! This is
your chance to island hop during her inaugural
season. The design theme highlights many of the
key aspects of Hawaii’s history and culture. Built in
2005, the ship offers 1188 cabins with television,
radio, telephone, room service and bathroom with
shower. The ship has 10 restaurants, 12 bars and

vibrant ‘capital’ of the islands. Oahu’s capital
city Honolulu is home to world-famous
Waikiki Beach, excellent bargain shopping,

entertainment, Honolulu is the ideal place
to begin your Hawaiian holiday. Only a short
distance from Waikiki is Pearl Harbor and the
Arizona Memorial, and Hanauma Bay for
snorkelling, swimming and picnicking. In the
north are the famous surfing beaches, Sunset
and Waimea, where during the winter you can
watch expert surfers ride the towering waves.
In summer both beaches are ideal swimming
spots. Also in this area is Waimea Falls Park,
a lush nature park and a dwelling for tropical

birthplace of King Kamehameha I, who united

BOOKING CONDITIONS
Cancellations: If you cancel or
terminate your holiday there will be
no refund of your deposit, and
• Prior to final payment: There will
be no refund of any additional
supplier deposit paid.
• After final payment: There may
be cancellation fees charged by
airlines, hotels and ground/cruise
operators amounting to all or part
of the cost paid.
Alterations: Alterations to your
package which require reissue of
documents - a fee of $25 per booking
will be charged by Qantas Holidays in
addition to any charges levied by
hotels, ground/cruise operators or
airlines. A document reissue means an
alteration to an existing booking and
not a transfer to another package,
when cancellation fees may apply.
Refunds: To the extent permitted by
law, no refund is available for
cancellations after holiday package
has commenced or in respect of any
tours, accommodation, meals or any
other services not utilised.
Land only service fee: If booking
land only with Qantas Holidays, a
minimum stay of 1 night
accommodation or 1 day car hire
is required and a service fee of $25
per booking will apply.
Product descriptions: Descriptions
featured are based on current
international hotel guides and
information provided by hotels
and suppliers. Any facilities shown
as included may change at any time.
Qantas Holidays makes no specific
representation as to the standard,
class or description of accommodation
or services provided by third parties.
Maps and photographs: Maps are
shown for general information and
may not necessarily reflect actual
routings, locations or services
provided. Photographs show places in
the geographic areas, but may not be
included in the holiday. Hotel room
photographs/descriptions are
representative only, actual rooms
occupied may vary in decor and
inclusions from those shown. Many
images are supplied courtesy of tourist
bureaus, hotels and tour operators.
Health and immigration: You are
responsible for all visa, passport,
immigration, quarantine, customs,
health and other requirements of
the countries visited or transited.
A valid passport (with at least six
months validity) must be carried
by each person. Qantas Holidays is
not responsible for your failure to
ensure that you comply with
these requirements.
Baggage: Please check your travel
documents for applicable baggage
allowances.
Pre-departure contact: You must
provide a telephone number or
address where you can be reached,
if necessary, within 24 hours prior to
your departure from Australia.
Not included in price of holiday:
You are responsible for the cost of
your own travel arrangements from
your home town to and from the
international departure city (as set out
in the brochure). Anything not
specifically included in the holiday
package is at your expense.
Air travel: Air travel is subject to
the conditions and limitations of
liability set out in the airline’s
conditions of carriage.
Booking arrangements: The person
making a booking will be deemed
to have accepted these Booking
Conditions on behalf of everyone
named in the booking. All
communications from us will usually
be sent to your travel consultant.
Your travel consultant is responsible
for forwarding payments made by
you to us.
Limit of liability: To the extent
permitted by law, Qantas Holidays
excludes all liability for any loss or
damage whatsoever (including but
not limited to physical and
psychological injury, and loss or
damage to property of whatever
nature) that may arise in any way in
connection with the offer or supply
of goods or services through Qantas
Holidays or any third parties, or in
connection with the supply of such
goods or services. If the law implies a
condition or warranty that cannot be
excluded, Qantas Holidays’ liability for
a breach of the condition or warranty
will be limited as determined by
Qantas Holidays to the re-supply or
payment of the cost of re-supplying
the relevant goods or services.
Events beyond our control: Qantas
Holidays does not accept liability
whatsoever for injury, damage, loss,
delay, additional expenses or
inconvenience caused directly or
indirectly by any events which are
beyond its control including, but
not limited to, war, civil disturbance,
fire, floods, acts of God, acts of
Government or of any other
authorities, accident to or failure
of machinery or equipment or
industrial action.
Destination passenger enquiries:
Qantas Holidays makes no
representations as to the safety,
conditions or other issues that may
exist at any destination. You should
obtain travel advice, including from
the Australian Department of Foreign
Affairs and Trade
(www.smartraveller.gov.au).
Law of contract: These Booking
Conditions are governed by the laws
of Australia and any action arising
under them or in any way connected
with the holiday may be brought only
in a court in Australia, subject to any
law which is expressly inconsistent
with this.

Please read these Booking Conditions
carefully as they apply to all bookings
accepted by Qantas Holidays. Qantas
Holidays is not itself a transport, tour,
event or accommodation provider. It
acts only as an agent for those service
providers. You should obtain and read
the applicable service provider’s terms
and conditions as they may limit or
exclude liability in respect of death,
personal injury, delay and loss or
damage to baggage.
Brochure: This brochure should be
used as a guide only. Please refer to
your travel consultant for full details
including updated pricing.
How to book: Contact your licensed
or AFTA travel consultant who will
request a reservation for you. Please
note that all requests for reservations
are subject to availability. Any quote
given is an estimate only of the price.
Changes in prices and itineraries:
Prices are provided as a guide only
and may vary due to peak demand
periods, changes in surcharges, fees
or taxes or currency fluctuations.
Please check all prices and information
with your travel consultant before
booking. The price of your holiday
may change at any time up to 30 days
before your departure if any new
surcharges, fees or taxes are
introduced or if any existing
surcharges, fees or taxes are varied,
even after you have paid all or part
of the quoted price of your holiday. If
we have to change any part of your
booking for reasons beyond our
control, for example, if an airline
changes its schedules, if a hotelier
overbooks, or if there are any changes
in applicable surcharges, fees or taxes,
we will notify you. If any such
changes result in your holiday costing
more or otherwise being materially
different, then you may cancel the
holiday and we will refund any
monies already paid less any charges
imposed by suppliers.
Deposits and final payments:
International bookings (for travel from
Australia). A deposit of $165 per
person is payable within 7 days of
confirmation of your reservation. You
will be notified at the time of your
reservation if any additional deposit
requirements apply. Full payment for
your holiday package is required at
least 30 days prior to departure, or by
sale end date or payment deadline
specified in individual package
conditions, whichever is the earliest.
If for any reason your balance is not
received by us by the due date, we
reserve the right to treat your booking
as cancelled and to apply the
appropriate cancellation charges.
A deposit holds services requested
but does not guarantee prices.
Late bookings: For bookings made
within 7 days of departure a fee of
$20 will apply.
