THE VISION EDUCATION INITIATIVE
With the product series phase6 hallo Deutsch, sponsors have started an important education initiative in Europe aiming
to a successful integration of refugees and immigrants into society. The sponsors of phase6 hallo-App Deutsch and
accompanying textbooks are leading the way in a wider social initiative for a successful introduction into German. The
phase6 hallo-App is available for efficient language learning any time of day. In this way, we want to support the valuable
work of teachers, to whom we dedicate this project.
The hallo-App runs on smartphones and tablets (Android/iOS) and encourages students to learn the basics of the
language either on their own or together with a teacher. The app is based on textbooks by Mildenberger, a leading
publishing house in the area of primary education, and Hueber, the worldwide market leader for German as a foreign
language. The apps – which include separate beginners‘ apps for children and adults (2015) as well as for teenagers
and specific occupations (2016) – systematically teach a basic vocabulary of around 1.400 words from various topics.
Through pictures as well as (spoken) words and sentences - even students unfamiliar with the Latin alphabet - can learn
German easily and efficiently.
The project kicked off with the hallo-App for children and accompanying textbook in October 2015 with a press conference held by the Federal Ministry of Education and Women in Vienna, Austria. Thanks to strong support from the
company Brose the project has been extend to Germany in November. Further country launches will follow in Europe.

With a variety of exercises and automatic repetitions, apps of the product series phase6 hallo Deutsch help beginners
acquire a basic vocabulary of around 1.400 German words drawn from various topics. There are separate apps for
children, teenagers, and adults. In addition, there will be a phase6 hallo-App with special vocabulary geared toward
the professional world. With the phase6 hallo-App, users are empowered to navigate quickly and succesfully a variety
of day-to-day situations.

Learning German provides children with an especially good chance of successful integration. The phase6 hallo Deutsch
for children was crated in cooperation with Mildenberger Verlag. It is tailored to the needs of children and offers a basic
vocabulary of around 1.400 words from various topics. This means that from the very beginning, children are learning
vocabulary via a trusted an d scientifically recognized method. With the phase6 hallo-App for children, learning vocabulary is children‘s new game.



The phase6 hallo-App for children helps children
build a basic German vocabulary.
The basic vocabulary is tailored to children’s
needs. The app is based on a learning system pioneered by phase6 which uses regular repetition depending on previous learning success. This
learning system was further developed pedagogically and supplemented with
a variety of exercises, pictures,
audio files, and sample sentences. This increases motivation
and makes learning more sustainable for children. hallo

Children can also receive from the Mildenberger publishing house there is an additional 64-page exercise booklet,
which is both topic-oriented and self-explanatory. Like the app, the exercise booklet delivers a playful introduction to
the German language using syllabified text, a sticker reward system, vocabulary lists, and supplemental audio files.
