A GDL-object, whose appearance is very similar to that of the actual product, helps the designer in making visualizations. The designer can use the GDL-objects with the ArchiCad software package, but the objects are compatible with several other international design applications as well. In the AutoCad software GDL-objects can be used with the help of the GDL-adapter, which can be downloaded at www.mad.fi/mad/gdladapter.html. To the ArchiCad software the objects are imported through the objects manager (Archive – Objects – Manager) (Picture 1). Picture 1. To facilitate design work, they are coded with automated functions for dimensioning and design of the structure and skeleton. The designer can be creative and compile the façade from different MTH Concertto product alternatives, also comparing model and colour options. The MTH Concertto object library consists of three different objects, which are MTH Concertto, MTH Concertto Corner and MTH Concertto Flashing. MTH Concertto -object is based on facade sheets, MTH Concertto Corner on corner pieces made from the facade sheets and MTH Concertto Flashing on corner flashings used instead of corner pieces. Objects can be downloaded free of charge from our Web site at www.concertto.com, where one can also be registered as a user of MTH Concertto GDLobjects. Information-window MTH Concertto -object consists of five windows, which are Information, Settings, Dimensions, Mounting frame and screws and Cutting (Picture 2). Cutting-window is only available, when cutting-option has been activated in Settings-window. Picture 2. Information-window of MTH Concertto -object. 2.2. Settings-window Product type Select the product type of the MTH Concertto -sheet. Options are 12 A, 66 A, 444 A and 3333 A, which are presented in appendix A. Colour lists Select the colour list according to the first number of the RR-colour code. Colour Select the colour from the list. Standard colours are shown at our website at www.concertto.com. MTH Concertto -products can also be delivered in special colours on a project basis. Assembly Options are Vertically or Horizontally. Vertical installation is recom- direction mended to be used, when the vertical dimension in the façade is determining. In that case MTH Concertto -sheets can be fitted to the vertical 3 GDL-object dimension with the help of steplessly adjustable panel length. Horizontal installation is recommended to be used, when the horizontal dimension in the façade is determining. In that case MTH Concertto -sheets can be fitted to the horizontal dimension with the help of steplessly adjustable panel length Cutting A cutting to the sheet, for example for a window or a door, can be designed by activating Cutting-option. Dimensions-window Panel size When this option has been deactivated (Picture 4), the number of panels according to in one sheet (lengthwise) and the panel length (according to the limit sheet’s effective values) can be filled in. These values will determine the sheet’s effective length length, which cannot exceed 3200 mm. 4 GDL-object Picture 4. When this option has been activated (Picture 5), the sheet’s effective length and the number of panels in one sheet (lengthwise) can be filled in. The sheet’s effective length cannot exceed 3200 mm. These values will determine the panel length, which has product specific limits. 5 GDL-object Base flashing By activating this option, the base/plinth flashing will be present on the lower edge of the sheet. The angle and the dimension A can be adjusted with the help of the text boxes next to the picture. The colour can be chosen by using the colour lists. Mounting frame and screws -window Screws on the The screws will be present on the upper edge of the sheet, when this op- upper edge tion has been activated. Mounting frame The mounting frame and the screws will be present on the left hand (left edge) side of the sheet, when this option has been activated. By deactivating this option, overlaying frames and screws can be prevented, if the sheet on the left hand side already has the mounting frame and the screws on the right hand side. Cutting-window Parameters The size and the place of the cutting can be defined by using four parameters, which are height and width of the cutting and distance from left and lower edge of the sheet (Picture 7). To help the planning, the height (3200 mm in the picture 7) and the width (1200 mm in the picture 7) of the sheet are shown on the window. Dimensions-window Parameters The effective side length of the corner piece will be defined by using parameters A and B (Picture 10). The effective side length can be 150 600 mm. If required, the corner piece can also be designed as asymmetrical by deactivating A=B -option. Picture 10. Dimensions-window of MTH Concertto Corner -object. 9 GDL-object Stretching The effective side length of the corner piece can be stretched freely in 2D-view to the desired length, for example to the edge of the sheet. 3.4. Information-window MTH Concertto Flashing -object consists of three windows, which are Information, Settings and Dimensions (Picture 12). The corner flashings will be used for example when the corner pieces cannot be used due to the panel size or the designer wants visually different outcome. Picture 12. Options are CON N10, CON N11 and CON N12, which are presented in appendix C. Length Fill in the length of the corner flashing, maximum is 3200 mm. Colour lists Select the colour list according to the first number of the RR-colour code. Colour Select the colour from the list. Standard colours are shown at our website at www.concertto.com. Dimensions-window Parameters The dimensioning of the corner flashings will be defined by using two parameters (Picture 14).
