Filmed at Elephant Hill Winery, the Masterchef contestants also visited the Hastings Farmers’ Market where they sourced ingredients for their dishes. The Masterclass was filmed at Black Barn Bistro where guest chef Terry Lowe was joined by two of the judges to cook three stunning dishes featuring local lamb. quality produce and fine dining venues that are located in the District and reinforced why we are known as the fruit bowl of New Zealand. The producers of the show were high in their praise for fruit and vegetables - and also described the cheeses and olive oil as amazing - while the television footage showed the contestants as having a great time running around the market collecting the produce. This type of programme can only have a positive spin-off for tourism in Hastings. This television exposure was absolutely priceless for the local tourism industry and showed Hastings District at its very best.
