This adapter board allows you to connect the new common 1.8’’ HDD device with ZIF/LIF
connector (e. g. MK1011GAH, MK3008GAL, …) to the “old” 50 pin standard 1.8 HDD
devices (e. g. MK8007GAH, MK6006GAH, …).

1. Functional description
This adapter board allows you to connect the new common 1.8’’ HDD device with ZIF/LIF
connector (e. g. MK1011GAH, MK3008GAL, …) to the “old” 50 pin standard 1.8 HDD
devices (e. g. MK8007GAH, MK6006GAH, …).
ATTENTION
The mounting process is a little tricky. The connector at the hard disk side is very
breakable, so please handle all goods with extreme care. Maybe connectors must be
unlocked before mounting the FPC into them and relocked after the mounting process.

6. How to install

2. The FFC cable (flat white cable with blue stiffeners) is a special design. It has two
different thicknesses on both sides. Insert the side with the longer amplification into the adapter. The side with the shorter amplification has been adapted to the DATASHEET ADA-HDD-1.8-ZIF-CF

6. How to install
ADA-HDD-1.8-ZIF-CF
1. Before you insert the long side into the adapter (fig 2), you have to solve the
locking device (fig. 1)
2. The FFC cable (flat white cable with blue stiffeners) is a special design. It has two
different thicknesses on both sides. Insert the side with the longer amplification into the adapter. The side with the shorter amplification has been adapted to the device. 3. After the locking at the adapter was closed again (fig. 2), open the FPC locker at the 1.8" hard disk. Add the short side of the FFC cable to the 1.8" hard disk and
close the locking device again (fig. 3). Handle with care!
