Summer camps fill up fast so register early. You will be notified if
a camp is full. In rare cases, we are forced to cancel camps. Should
this happen we will make every attempt to place your child
in another camp session or offer you a full refund. To register,
complete the registration form at the back of this schedule and
submit one form per child with full payment. Children may not
attend without full payment.

FOR YOUR CHILD’S SAFETY!
You must physically sign your child in and out with their counselor.
Anyone who is picking up a child MUST be listed on the
emergency pick-up list (available in your child’s welcome packet)
or the office must receive a note from the parent when the child
arrives at camp. Please be prepared to show ID when picking up
any child. Please understand this is for the safety of all children,
and be patient if it takes a few moments to sign your child in or out.

CONTACT INFORMATION:
A welcome packet will be mailed to all campers by June 6, 2016.
This packet will contain forms that must be returned at least one
week prior to the beginning of your child’s camp. If you register
after June 7, you must pick up a packet from the Registration
department in Elkton Station or download the forms from the
website at www.cecil.edu. Campers will not be permitted in the
classroom until all of the required forms are on file in the Youth
Educational Services office. Forms may be faxed to 410-398-4429 or
mailed to Lifelong Learning, 107 Railroad Ave., Elkton, MD 21921.
The required forms are as follows:
1. Camper Health History Form. State regulations require campers
have up-to-date immunizations. If your child does not attend a
public or private school in Maryland, you will need to also send
a copy of your child’s immunization record with your completed
Parent Consent and Health Form.
2. Emergency #’s and going home plans.
If you forget to return your forms, you must report to the camp
office before dropping your child off at camp and complete the
required forms.
T-SHIRT PICKUP
If you order a T-shirt for your child, it will be mailed to you in your
welcome packet or you may pick it up from Elkton Station, Room
229, before camp begins, or from the camp office once camp starts.
LUNCH
All campers will be supervised during lunch. Staff will escort
and supervise students during lunch and return them to their
afternoon activity. Refrigeration will be provided. Please do not
send insulated lunch boxes. The campers tend to lose them and
they require much more space in the refrigerator than a disposable
bag. Campers will not be permitted to purchase lunch or use
the vending machines on campus.
SNACKS
If your child is staying for after care it can be a very long day. You
may send an additional snack and drink for your camper for the
end of the day.

BEFORE AND AFTER CARE
CECIL COLLEGE - * FREE*
Before care meets from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. and after care meets from
3:45 to 5 p.m. Campers can play games, read books, and work on arts
and crafts.
CECIL COLLEGE LATE PICK-UP
Children not picked up within 15 minutes of the ending time of camp
will be sent to aftercare to wait for their parents. A late fee of $5 per
15 minutes will be charged for campers who are not picked up by
5 p.m. If you are running more than 15 minutes late please in picking
up your child, please contact us.

Haphazardly Ever After: (YPTP Two Week Camp) Tons of magical
fun awaits in this original, one-of-a-kind fractured fairy tale farce!
A kind king and queen have trouble in their royal family — four
obnoxious, bratty, adult children who do not live up to their royal
titles. There’s the mean Princess Cinnamon, the not-so-bright
Princess Peppermint, the vain Prince Hairgel and Prince Slacker,
who thinks being a prince is just way, way too hard. The king and
queen try everything to bring happiness and harmony to their
family. They hire a royal therapist, bring in royal teachers and even
attempt to marry off their children, all to no avail. The king and
queen are ready for a happily-ever-after that doesn’t include adult
children still living at home, so they call upon the fairy godmother
to help. However, after learning the outrageous cost of hiring the
fairy godmother (let alone the permits required), the king and
queen decide to create a do-it-yourself fairy tale with the help
of supplies purchased at The Enchanted Depot. Royal chaos! Of
course, nothing goes as planned, but everyone is changed by their
experiences. And through a series of haphazard events, the royal
family just might live happily ever after, after all. KIK 554-01
The Princess King: (YPTP Two Week Camp) Everyone loves a
good story, especially when it comes to life! Lucille’s mother tells
her the story of “The Princess King” as it unfolds before our eyes on
the main stage. Princess Genevieve wants to marry Henry, but he’s
just a common cook. Of course, the king thinks this is ridiculous
and takes it upon himself to choose who will be the next king and
a suitable husband for his daughter. Though the princess begs
her father to let her lead the kingdom herself, the king instead
decides to hold a contest to find the next king. Princess Genevieve
is outraged that she has been reduced to a trophy for her father’s
contest, so she and Henry cook up a plot to have Genevieve enter
the contest herself. Disguised as a prince, Genevieve is intent on
proving to her father that she is worthy to wear the kingdom’s
crown. Meanwhile, to cover for her absence, Henry clumsily
masquerades as the princess, and Genevieve’s maid tries to cover
for the cook! Filled with mistaken identities, tongue-in-cheek
humor, and over-the-top characters, your audiences will cheer
for the princess as she tries to outsmart Prince Air-Guitar and evil
“Prince Fluffy” and battle the great chicken-dragon, with some help
from Henry’s delicious lasagna! KIK 554-02

Disney’s Beauty and The Beast Jr. - Musical: (YPTP Two Week
Camp) YPTP and Glee Camp collide with an exciting new adventure!
Come join YPTP’s Miss Kelsy and Oxford Arts Alliance’s Miss Colleen
for a summer musical extravaganza. Based on the original Broadway
production that ran for over 13 years and was nominated for nine
Tony Awards, and the Academy Award-winning motion picture,
Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. is a fantastic adaptation of the
story of transformation and tolerance. Disney’s Beauty and the Beast
JR. features some of the most popular songs ever written by Alan
Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr.
Menken and Tim Rice. The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman
in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince
trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to
love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to
his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his
lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.
With many fun supporting roles allowing students to play objects
inside the castle –this “tale as old as time” is filled with spectacular

Haphazardly Ever After: (YPTP Two Week Camp) Tons of magical
fun awaits in this original, one-of-a-kind fractured fairy tale farce!
A kind king and queen have trouble in their royal family — four
obnoxious, bratty, adult children who do not live up to their royal
titles. There’s the mean Princess Cinnamon, the not-so-bright
Princess Peppermint, the vain Prince Hairgel and Prince Slacker,
who thinks being a prince is just way, way too hard. The king and
queen try everything to bring happiness and harmony to their
family. They hire a royal therapist, bring in royal teachers and even
attempt to marry off their children, all to no avail. The king and
queen are ready for a happily-ever-after that doesn’t include adult
children still living at home, so they call upon the fairy godmother
to help. However, after learning the outrageous cost of hiring the
fairy godmother (let alone the permits required), the king and
queen decide to create a do-it-yourself fairy tale with the help
of supplies purchased at The Enchanted Depot. Royal chaos! Of
course, nothing goes as planned, but everyone is changed by their
experiences. And through a series of haphazard events, the royal
family just might live happily ever after, after all. KSC 528-01
The Princess King: (YPTP Two Week Camp) Everyone loves a good
story, especially when it comes to life! Lucille’s mother tells her the
story of “The Princess King” as it unfolds before our eyes on the main
stage. Princess Genevieve wants to marry Henry, but he’s just a
common cook. Of course, the king thinks this is ridiculous and takes
it upon himself to choose who will be the next king and a suitable
husband for his daughter. Though the princess begs her father to
let her lead the kingdom herself, the king instead decides to hold
a contest to find the next king. Princess Genevieve is outraged
that she has been reduced to a trophy for her father’s contest, so
she and Henry cook up a plot to have Genevieve enter the contest
herself. Disguised as a prince, Genevieve is intent on proving to her
father that she is worthy to wear the kingdom’s crown. Meanwhile,
to cover for her absence, Henry clumsily masquerades as the
princess, and Genevieve’s maid tries to cover for the cook! Filled
with mistaken identities, tongue-in-cheek humor, and over-the-top
characters, your audiences will cheer for the princess as she tries
to outsmart Prince Air-Guitar and evil “Prince Fluffy” and battle
the great chicken-dragon, with some help from Henry’s delicious

YPTP Internship Program: We’re taking YPTP to a whole new
level! Our new 13-17 year old program lets students ages 13-17 who
have prior theater experience delve into the technical side of theater
in new and exciting ways! Each internship will last for 2 weeks (the
length of one of our production camps). Similar to years past, interns
will commit to a 2 week period of time, in which they will work as
design and/or technical staff on one of our productions. NEW this
year, however, is our series of workshops. During their two weeks,
interns will participate in “pull out” workshops on lighting and sound
design, painting techniques, costume construction, directing, stage
managing, set construction and more. Interns will work together in
lessons, but will also have the opportunity to pursue their individual

Disney’s Beauty and The Beast Jr. - Musical:: (YPTP Two Week
Camp) YPTP and Glee Camp collide with an exciting new adventure!
Come join YPTP’s Miss Kelsy and Oxford Arts Alliance’s Miss Colleen
for a summer musical extravaganza. Based on the original Broadway
production that ran for over 13 years and was nominated for nine
Tony Awards, and the Academy Award-winning motion picture,
Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. is a fantastic adaptation of the
story of transformation and tolerance. Disney’s Beauty and the Beast
JR. features some of the most popular songs ever written by Alan
Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr.
Menken and Tim Rice. The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman
in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince
trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to
love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to
his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his
lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.
With many fun supporting roles allowing students to play objects
inside the castle –this “tale as old as time” is filled with spectacular

woods? Learn how to find a good campsite, avoid poisonous plants,

Hogwarts Camp of Witchcraft and Wizardry: NEW Live in the
imagination from the magical world of Harry Potter! From the

LEGO Architecture: NEW If you love Legos, and are an engineer,
architect or artist by heart, this camp will take you around the
world to learn and construct some of history’s most famous
buildings. You will have the opportunity to build the Eiffel Tower,
Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Leaning Tower of Pisa,
Sydney Opera House and much more! Come travel to far away
countries with us as we learn about history and explore with Legos!

LEGO BIONICLES: In this camp, Lego fans will unite to construct the
Bionicle Theme and at the same time learn about the science of simple
machines. Build the Mistika Collection including Bitil, Gorast, Krika, Toa

Nui Collection, and many more. Then build a wide assortment of Lego
technic machines that are designed to make learning fun! All students

LEGO Lord of the Rings: NEW Take part at the Council of Elrond
as you re-imagine all of the great and trying adventures of Bilbo
Baggins and the Fellowship of the Ring as they make their way

you. Camp will include Lego sets from the Hobbit and Lord of the

LEGO Star Wars: Have fun building the Star Wars sets from a
galaxy that is far, far, away! LEGO enthusiasts, gather up all of your
building force as we attempt to construct a wide variety of LEGO
Star Wars models. Projects may comprise many of the following

Ren’s Command Shuttle, First Order Tie Fighter, Death Star Final
Duel, Imperial Shuttle Tydirium, Poe’s X-Wing Fighter, and much

LEGO Robotics Challenge: Are you up to the challenge? An
obstacle course of tasks must be completed by the robot you
design, create and program. Using LEGO’s robotics kits, you and
your team will solve the themed obstacles, which are based on
actual challenges from the First LEGO League contest each year.

we are talking about a catapult or the human body, the physics
of movement is fascinating and fun. Experiment with movement

Minecraft Camp: NEW Minecraft is a game about placing blocks
to build anything you can imagine. At night, monsters come out,
so be sure to build a shelter before that happens. Experience the
world of Minecraft in the classroom and on the computer in this

some of the mobs, critters and tools using arts and crafts. Kids
will also face challenges throughout camp as they build models

Pokémon Academy: NEW Pokémon is here, are you ready kids?!
“You can be anything you want to be!” You will enjoy creating your

be the Pokémon leader? The week will be full of a wide range of

leaving MD. Discover the amazing creatures that inhabit this region

Rock Band: So you want to be a rock superstar? This camp offers
budding musicians a unique opportunity to play in bands, write
their own music, and record demos. Students will spend their days

Star Wars Camp: NEW Star Wars is here with a whole new twist.
Come to this camp to learn the ways of the Jedi and make your
own light saber. Not only will you get to recreate all your favorite
Star Wars characters, but you will create a new Star Wars universe of

Trooper and other masks, solving mysteries of the Force while
creating a Star Wars universe, and learning about the various star

Minecraft is one of the most popular video games in history!
Whether you’re a veteran or new to the game, this is your chance

3D design challenges. Finish up by developing your very own
Minecraft map. Advanced Minecraft users will learn how to expand

did you know that every laugh, scream and thrill is a carefully
choreographed plan? Discover the physics behind the best roller

Camp Scrubs: Camp Scrubs is the place to explore the amazing
world of medicine. Campers will learn real-life medical skills like
taking blood pressure, using stethoscopes, and CPR while they hear
from medical professionals and educators about the many careers
in health care. Camp Scrubs provides an activity-filled week of fun
and learning about health and medicine. NOTE: Portion of the day
will be held at Union Hospital. Students should expect to spend a

Cecil Engineering Challenge: Civil and mechanical engineers
build bridges and machines as well as design systems that make
our everyday life possible. Spend the week applying scientific
knowledge, mathematics and ingenuity to develop solutions to
technical problems. Blast off into a fun-filled week of challenges as
you build and launch scale model rockets and planes, race balloon
vehicles, build the strongest bridge, and more. KIC 513
Digital Painting & Illustration: NEW Join us for an introduction
to the world of digital illustration. Illustrators work to create
commercials and ads as well as throughout the media industry.
You can find out where you would fit in. Use Photoshop and
computer tablets to create several projects that will familiarize you
with Photoshop as well as the illustration industry. Note: Previous
drawing experience is required. KIC 545
Digital Photography - Location: NEW Join us for a weeklong
immersion into the world of digital photography. What makes
some images stand out more than others? Students will learn
the fundamentals of composition, color, design and lighting,
which are the fundamental building blocks to strong imagery. In
addition, we will teach you how to use the different modes on your
DSLR camera. Cameras are provided for the camp but feel free
to bring your own camera too. We will also introduce students to
professional post production in Adobe Photoshop Bridge, Adobe
Photoshop and Lightroom. And finally, students will print their
photographs on our state-of-the-art Canon and Epson ink jet
printers to produce a final portfolio. KIC 515
Digital Photography - Studio: NEW This photography workshop
is for our return students and those who have extensive experience
with the use of DSLR cameras and Adobe Photoshop and
Lightroom. Further your technical skills and begin to develop
your personal style. This workshop builds upon the skills in Digital
Photography Location, where we learned to control light, master
our DSLR camera, and find dynamic compositions. This workshop
will focus on the importance of conceptualization, metaphor,
symbolism and self-expression. We will work in the studio again
but with more advanced light modifiers. In our outdoor portraits,
we’ll work on more complex posing techniques. And in the stateof-the-art Macintosh computer lab, we’ll further our knowledge in
Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. Terms and tools such as quick
mask, blending modes, cloning and transform will become a part
of the student’s Photoshop vocabulary. We will complete another
portfolio of advanced photographs. Note: If you need more time
to post process all the images you captured this week, you can

Glee Camp Sing your heart out! In this music camp, campers
will work towards a final performance on the last day of camp to
include singing and choreography. Songs will be drawn from pop
radio, musicals, and/or movies. Campers will be singing in two-part
harmony and learning dances to go with each song. There are
opportunities for singing short solos, but much of this fun camp
will be group singing. This camp will not only engage campers’
musical learning, but will keep them moving! KIC 542

Movie Making Effects: NEW Discover how Hollywood shoots
and edits movies, while mastering filmmaking and special effects
techniques. This week-long workshop will involve all aspects of
the editing and story-telling process of making movies. This will
be an all-inclusive process with real-world learning and hands-on
experience. Students will work with all types of filming equipment
and video software, and will finish the week with individual and

Physics, Flight, and Rocketry: Using models and hands-on
projects, you will build a flight project to test theories of flight. See
who can build the rocket that goes the highest or plane that flies
the furthest. What do design, wind drag and friction all have to do
with the success of your flight? KIC 521
Pottery Studio Workshop: NEW Explore the techniques to create
forms out of clay. Build using your hands, pinch, coil, and slab to
bring your piece from a concept in your brain to a reality. Explore
surface decoration, textures and glazes. No previous art experience is
necessary. Just have a desire to create and love being messy. KIC 544
Rock Band: So you want to be a rock superstar? This camp offers
budding musicians a unique opportunity to play in bands, write
their own music, and record demos. Students will spend their days
fine-tuning their music skills, culminating in a performance at the
end of the week that features them as the star. Notes: Vocalists
and all instrumentalists are welcome. Students who sign up for this
camp should have a minimum of one year of experience either
singing or playing an instrument. KIC 532
SAT Prep: The SAT is new in 2016, and this SAT prep week will
cover all of the new requirements for both Math and Verbal in
detail. Verbal preparation will ask you to interpret the meanings of
relevant words and phrases in context. No more memorization, but
rather a close reading of excerpts to determine how vocabulary
is used in a particular passage. Central ideas and themes of
various genres will be identified. The new optional essay section
will also be covered. Math preparation includes the mastery of
linear expressions, creating and solving equations, using ratios,
percentages and units, problem solving, and data analysis and
systems. The advanced math prep includes more complex

Solar Science Challenge: NEW Capture the power of the sun to
solve the challenges you will face in this week of solar applications.
Solar crab races, solar car races, and building a solar house are only
a few of the possible challenges you may face in this exciting green
energy camp. Learn about conservation, green energy, and the vast

Steampunk Art: NEW Steampunk art comes in all shapes and
sizes, from pocket watches, to redesigned laptops, to entire vehicles
or even houses! Steampunk usually has very Victorian influences
but it’s the modernization and reimagining of the work that sets
the two styles apart. Steampunk art could often resemble what
Victorian era dreamers would visualize when imagining what
future technology might look like. In the workshop, students will
create their own designs and piece of art using wire, metal, gears,
keys and other industrial objects representing an interesting mix
of the Victorian era, science fiction and spunk. Feel free to bring in

animation including characters, props and environments that are

Camp at Kilby Cream: NEW this year, Kilby Cream has opened it’s
gates to our campers to spend a week with the Kilby team to learn
and be fully immersed in the daily activity and life on the Farm.
The campers will learn about the growth, care and maintenance
of its cows, chickens and other animals. Campers will also get
to experience the inner workings of the farm with a tour of the
machine shop, greenhouse, methane digester, processing plant
and more. The kids will learn hands-on about soil conservancy,
water quality and the environment. Just some of the fun activities
include milking a cow, collecting chicken eggs, and making your
very own ice cream from start to finish. To top it off, the kids will
take home a pint of the ice cream they made at camp! We look
