Chrome leaves home for car show

Local veterans, motor heads
and members of the Hustlers
Las Vegas car club are coming together on Nov. 6 for the
10th annual Veterans' Benefit
Rod and Custom Show at the
Henderson Multigenerational
Center. About 300 classic cars
will be up for judging.
"A judge looks for the quality of the paint, the quality of
the interior, the undercarriage
engine compartment, how
much time you spent on really keeping it nice and clean,"
Tony Thomas said.
Thomas is the commander
of the Henderson Veterans of
Foreign Wars Post 3848 and
a member of the Hustlers Las
Vegas car club. Both organizations have membership overlap, and both will be out in full

About 300 cars are expected
to register for the show, which
will also feature vendors, a
deejay from the VFW hall and
several raffles for car lovers.
"It's all real nice stuff for
motor heads," Thomas said.
The VFW hopes to raise
around $.S,00(), an improvement over last year, when rain
prompted all but 230 car enthusiasts to keep their chrome
at home, Thomas said.
