Who to
Kelly Clark
Billy Demong
Nordic Combined Skiing
T
hirty-year-old Kelly Clark is heading to her fourth Olympics with the hopes of
recapturing another medal – hopefully a gold. Each of her trips to the Olympics
has been rather successful. In 2002, she took home the gold medal in women’s
halfpipe; in 2006, she just barely missed the podium when she placed fourth in the
same event; and in 2010 in Vancouver she brought home a bronze medal. The native
of Dover, Vt., will be one to watch when she hits the slopes in Sochi as she has three
straight gold medal victories from 2011-2013 at the Winter X Games.
T
he first-ever American to win Olympic gold in his sport, Billy Demong will lead
the U.S. men’s nordic combined team into Sochi with the hopes of bettering
their last go-around in 2010. While Demong’s gold medal was in the men’s
individual 10km large hill event, the silver medal in the 4x5km team event is
a great stepping stone for the American nordic combined group
to build on. Demong will be competing in his fifth Winter
Games when he heads to Sochi, but the 33-year-old also says
it will be his last.

competition history.
•
With 60 career wins, she has more
than any other male or female snowboarder.
•
Her parents Terry and Cathy
own a restaurant in Dover, Vt.
called TC’s.
•
She got her start in snowboarding at the tender age
of seven on a plastic board
from K-Mart called the Mobile Monster.
•
Despite her love of the snow, when the
weather warms up she enjoys surfing and
mountain biking.
•
She started the Kelly Clark Foundation in
February of 2010 to give young people
the opportunity to become successful, realize their potential
and reach their dreams through
snowboarding.
His wife – former American skeleton
racer, Katie Koczynski – and his threeyear-old son, Liam, will be traveling with
him to Sochi.
At the 2010 Vancouver Winter Games,
he was the flag bearer for the Closing
Ceremonies.
In the winter, when he’s not training, he
can usually be found out in the wilderness climbing mountains or hiking the
backcountry.
His father is an environmental biologist, almost always outdoors, and
helped him get into cross country
skis by the age of three.
He proposed to his then-girlfriend,
Katie Koczynski, in front of his
teammates and coaches after the
medal ceremony for his gold medal
victory at the 2010 Olympic Games

Chris Mazdzer
Ice Dancing
n accomplished pair, Meryl Davis and Charlie White have a lot to look forward
to at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. After winning the silver medal
in Vancouver, Davis and White need to bring their best efforts to Sochi if
they want to dethrone one of the top ice dancing teams in the world, Canada’s Scott
Moir and Tessa Virtue. No strangers to the podium, Davis and White have earned
top honors in practically every major ice dancing competition, and have won 15
consecutive Grand Prix gold medals. Now they have their sights set on the prize that
shines the brightest as they head to their second Olympic Games.

Men’s Singles Luge
here is a changing of the guard happening in American luging, and Chris
Mazdzer is the up-and-comer. After Bengt Walden and Tony Benshoof both
retired in 2011, Mazdzer is the only male luger who has stood on the Olympic
stage. Finishing 13th in Vancouver in his Olympic debut, he looks ready to do what no
man in singles luge has ever done for the United States: win a medal. He’s no stranger
to the track, but he does have some serious competition and will need to be focused
and prepared if he’s going to give the U.S. a shot at the podium in
Sochi.

The pair has been skating together since they were
both 10 years old, making them the current longestlasting dance team in the United States.
The team employs two choreographers: Marina
Zueva and Derek Hough, the latter an Emmy winner
who is best known for his routines on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.”
Coach Marina Zueva is based out of their home state
of Michigan, and also coaches their biggest competitors and reigning Olympic champs Scott Moir and
Tessa Virtue.
They both currently study at the University of
Michigan, White in political science and Davis in
cultural anthropology and Italian.
Not only does skating come naturally to the
pair, they’re also talented musicians. Davis
plays the flute and White plays the violin.
The two have skated together for almost 17 years now, and their families
have grown very close. The dancers
will often say “Hi Moms!” to greet
both their mothers simultaneously.

He was a high school senior when he just
missed making the U.S. Olympic team in
2006, losing a best-two-out-of-three race
against his roommate Jonathan Myles.
When he’s not training or competing, he enjoys watching TV – especially “Family Guy.”
In high school, he tried to branch out into
other sports, but that was practically a disaster. In the first 15 seconds of his first-ever
lacrosse game, he received penalties for
slashing and illegal substitution because he
wasn’t familiar with the rules.
In his early years of sledding, he was
coached by former luger and three-time
Olympian Duncan Kennedy.
He was competing in the Junior World Cup
circuit at the age of 13 against 18- and 19year-olds.

Who to
Gracie Gold
Jeremy Abbott
G
Men’s Figure Skating
racie Gold wants to make good on her name when she travels
to Sochi. The 18-year-old figure skater is relatively new to the
world of glitzy outfits and the big stage, but she continues to
grow exponentially with each competition. The 2014 U.S. National gold
medalist recently started working with renowned coach Frank Carroll,
whose most recognizable students are 2010 Olympic champion Evan
Lysacek and two-time Olympic medalist Michelle Kwan.
The change has provided a positive spark for the blondehaired, red-lipped Gold, whose potential is unlimited as
she heads to Sochi.
T
wenty-eight-year-old Jeremy Abbott will be lacing up his skates for his second
Olympics when he heads to Sochi. The four-time U.S. national champion and
2008 Grand Prix Final champion placed ninth at the 2010
Olympics in Vancouver, and he has a good chance of moving up
in the standings. With reigning Olympic champion Evan Lysacek
sidelined from the competition due to injury, Abbott becomes
the United States’ best hope for a men’s figure skating medal.
The opportunity to become one of the best is there for the
taking, and Abbott is capable of doing just that.

She has a fraternal twin sister named Carly
who is 40 minutes younger than her. Carly is
also a competitive figure skater.
She has landed an endorsement deal from
CoverGirl, which is fitting for her as she always wears her token red lipstick during her
performances.
Her favorite series of books is “The Hunger
Games” by Suzanne Collins.
Growing up, she tried many different sports,
including swimming and gymnastics, but
ultimately settled on figure skating because of the opportunity to push herself
and learn something new each day.

She has a dog and a cat at home – a
mastiff named Stella and a
hairless cat named Rex.
She has a huge social media
presence with more than
11,000 followers on Instagram
and over 13,000 followers on
Twitter.
Practically as soon as he could walk,
he was on skates. He began skating
at the age of two, and by four he
was already competing.
He says seeing retired Olympic
champion Robin Cousins skating on
television is what encouraged him to
start taking figure skating lessons.
For about six years as a child he tried
gymnastics as well as figure skating, but
ultimately ended that experiment.
He’s definitely a family man, often giving
credit to his parents, his stepdad and his
sister for his success.
A man of many talents, he can also ride a
unicycle.
He’s still a big fan of British figure skating
sensation Robin Cousins, who is currently
one of his choreographers.

T
O
he road to the Winter Olympics has been much smoother this time around for
short-track speed skater J.R. Celski. Shortly before the 2010 Winter Games, he
crashed during the U.S. Olympic trials and suffered a six-inch deep cut to his
left quad. He overcame this adversity, ultimately ending up at the Games, and took
home two bronze medals for his country. In Sochi,
the eight-time World Championship medalist
looks to better his Olympic performance and
really make a name for himself on the oval
track.
ne of the best female lugers in the United States is a woman who hails from
the state of New York. Erin Hamlin will be racing for her country as she
makes her third appearance at a Winter Games (2006, 2010). This year, the
27-year-old looks to build on a consistent
career and inch as close as possible to
the podium in Sochi as she can get. In
her first trip to the Olympics in 2006,
she finished the women’s singles event
12th overall. She slipped a little in
the standings in 2010 to 16th, but she
still finished as the highest placed
American.

This could have been his third trip to the
Olympics, but unfortunately he missed
the minimum age requirement for the
2006 Winter Olympics in
Torino by 17 days.
•
He almost didn’t compete
at the 2010 Winter Games
in Vancouver because he sliced
his leg with his own skate blade
during a collision at the U.S. trials.
The cut required 60 stitches.
•
•
He used to be a competing inline skater
until he watched speed skating at the
2002 Winter Olympics and switched
sports.
He executive produced and co-wrote the
short documentary “The Otherside,” which
is about the hip-hop scene and digital age of
music in Seattle.
•
He is good friends with rising star and rapper Ben Haggerty, also known by his stage
name “Macklemore.”
Olympic and World Cup
champion soccer player
Mia Hamm is her favorite
athlete.
She placed first in the women’s singles luge event at the
World Championships in Lake
Placid, N.Y., in 2009, ending
the streak of 99 races where
a German woman won gold.
Because she often suffers from
severe migraine headaches,
she signed on as a spokeswoman for the National Headache Foundation in 2009.
Her favorite book is “Angels &

J
ulie Chu brings experience, flash and pizzazz to the U.S. women’s national
hockey team. She also brings an impressive resume into the 2014 Sochi Winter
Olympics. The five-time World Champion has been a leader for the Americans
on the ice. Chu has been a point-per-game player for the United States at the
Winter Games ever since she first laced up her skates for her home country in 2002.
Collecting two silvers (2002, 2010) and one bronze (2006), all she has left to do is add
a glittering gold medal to her collection.
indsey Van has the opportunity to make Olympic history. For the first time
ever, women will be competing in the ski jumping event at the Olympics,
something she has worked tirelessly
to bring to the big stage. The goal is
gold for the eight-time U.S. normalhill and five-time U.S. large-hill
champion. She is set to do just that in
Sochi, and it would cement her place
among the ski jumping legends.

Fast Facts
•
She is a Harvard University graduate

Psychology.
•
•
When she played in the 2002
Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City,

If she wasn’t playing hockey, she
says she would like to be a

•
•
Not only is she a player, she
has also served as an assistant coach to the 200708 University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs.
•
•
Before her first Olympics in
2002, her father promised her that the

named to the women’s roster. Her parents, her brother and her sister all have
the Olympic rings and her no. 13 tattooed
on their ankles or arms. She wears hers
on the top of her foot.
•
At the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in 2009, she won the gold medal
in the inaugural women’s ski jumping
event.
It’s no pain, no gain for Lindsey – she has
undergone four knee surgeries and has
ruptured her spleen during her career.
She was featured in a documentary by
producer Bill Kerig titled “Ready to Fly,”
which highlighted the dedication it took to
get women’s ski jumping to the highest
levels.
Though she started out on the downhill
slopes, by the time she was seven years
old she was looking for the big jumps.
She’s no slouch when it comes to her

Alpine Skiing
J
ulia Mancuso has some big shoes to fill since Lindsey Vonn announced her
withdrawal from the Sochi games, but her past exploits have set her up
perfectly. Heading to her fourth Olympics, she has become the U.S.’s best hope
at a medal on the slopes since Vonn’s knee injury took her out of the game. Mancuso
is no slouch when it comes to the podium. Though she didn’t
medal in her first Olympics in 2002, she picked up a
gold in giant slalom at the 2006 Winter Games and
two silvers – downhill and combined – in Vancouver
in 2010. If any American woman can bring home an
alpine ski medal, it’s Mancuso.
T
he “fastest mom on ice” is speeding into Sochi with one goal in mind: an
Olympic medal. Noelle Pikus-Pace has been very close to achieving her dream
a few times in her career, but an untimely freak accident, and later one-tenth
of a second, caused her to fall short. She may have been down for the count then,
but she is definitely not out of it now. Pikus-Pace heads
into Sochi as one of the favorites to not only medal,
but win gold. The World No. 2-ranked woman on
the track (at the time of publication) will have her
family’s support as she chases what has proven to
be an elusive Olympic medal.

•
She has her own lingerie line that
she launched in 2010 called “Kiss

•
She is the mother of two children, Lacee and Traycen, and
has been dubbed the “fastest

The sled she used in Vancouver for
the 2010 Winter Olympics and the sled
she’s using in Sochi were both designed
by her husband, Janson.
She had originally retired after a disappointing fourth-place finish in Vancouver,
but announced her return to the track in
the summer of 2012.
In December of 2013, she broke a track
record in Park City, Utah not once, but
twice. Posting a 49.80-second first run, she
destroyed the 12-year-old record previously
held by Canadian Michelle Kelly by 0.11
seconds, before posting an even faster
time of 49.74 seconds in her second run.
She broke the Utah Valley University
high-jump record when she was in
college.

His name is Swahili, picked by his father from a Swahili dictionary, and in English is a mix of “light” and “weight.”
•
He has set eight world records and currently holds three, one
each in the 1000m (1:06.42 minutes), 1500m (1:41.04 minutes) and in allround samalog points (145.742).
If he can secure a medal in Sochi, no matter
the color, he will be the most decorated
male long-track speed skater in U.S.
history.
•
•
He became the first black athlete ever to win a gold medal in
any individual Winter Olympics
discipline in 2006 in Torino when
he won the 1000m speed skating
event.
•
When he was two, his mother had
him rollerskating at local rinks. By
the age of four, guards for the rinks would
have to chase him down to stop him from
going so fast.
•
He has traveled to and competed in 14
different countries throughout his
career, and he even has a World
Passport – a document similar to a
regular passport that’s printed in
seven languages.

A
fter exploding onto the Olympic scene in 2006 in Torino, Shaun White has
become a household name across the globe. He’s gunning for his third
straight Olympic gold medal in the snowboarding halfpipe when he heads to
Sochi, and will also get a shot at taking home another medal with the newly added
snowboarding slopestyle event at the Winter Games. A favorite for both events, White
has dominated at the Winter X-Games in slopestyle since 2003, winning five gold
medals (four consecutively from 2003-2006), a silver and two
bronzes.
As well as being a pro on the snow, he has
also medalled in the Summer X-Games and
Dew Tour for skateboarding.
At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino,
he set the record for highest score in the
men’s halfpipe with 46.8 points – 0.7 points
better than the previous record holder.
His mother dry cleaned his first ever Olympic medal.
He is quite the character! He guest starred
in the Justin Timberlake flick “Friends with
Benefits” (2011), and lent his voice to an
episode of the TV show “American Dad” as
well as the movie “The Smurfs 2” (2013) as
Clueless Smurf.
Known for his long, flowing bright red locks
(which he recently cut off!) he was nicknamed “The Flying Tomato.”
At the Winter X Games in 2012, he became
the first person to ever score a
perfect 100 in the men’s
snowboard superpipe.

Who to
Steven Holcomb
Ted Ligety
H
e is a man of many hats. A former alpine skier, military man and now Olympic
champion bobsledder, 33-year-old Steven Holcomb is charging into his third
Winter Games. He piloted the American four-man bobsled team to its first
gold medal in 62 years at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.
Holcomb is looking to not only repeat as a gold medallist,
but also to end another drought in the second sport he
competes in. The U.S. two-man bobsled team has not
won the event since 1936.
A
fter a lackluster performance in Vancouver, Ted Ligety has a lot to prove.
Though he was the 2006 Olympic champion in the men’s combined, he missed
the podium in that event by five-tenths of a second
in 2010. He is, however, arguably one of the favorites to
take home at least one medal in Sochi. Coming off a
season in which he won three gold medals at a world
championship – the first time in 45 years a man has
done so – Ligety is poised to tear up the slopes and
recapture the gold medal that eluded him at the
Olympics in Vancouver.

Before bobsledding,
he was an alpine skier
for 12 years, switching
sports in 1998.
His story is one of great triumph,
having overcome an eye problem
that nearly took his vision and
ruined his career.
•
•
He served in the Utah Army National
Guard for seven years, before receiving
an Honorable Discharge in 2006.
•
His medals aren’t limited to the Olympic
track. He’s also won the Army Achievement Medal, Army Commendation Medal
and Army Service Ribbon, among others.
•
Currently in school, he is scheduled to
graduate with a Computer Science diploma from DeVry University in 2016.
•
Along with a friend, he started a company called “Shred,” which is also his
nickname, marketing ski goggles and
helmets.
He won three gold medals at the 2013
World Championships – super-G, combined, giant slalom – and became the first
man to do so since Jean-Claude Killy did
it in 1968.
He first strapped on a pair of skis at
two years old in his hometown of Park
City, Utah, and began competing in
races at the age of 10.
When he first started skiing with the
U.S. Ski Team in 2004, he competed
with a big “Mom and Dad” written on
the front of his helmet, indicating them as
his primary sponsor.
As a kid, he picked up the nickname “Ted
Shred,” which eventually just turned into
“Shred,” because of his enthusiasm for
skiing and his ability to ski quickly and hit
a lot of the big jumps first.

Russia poised to deliver stunning setting for Winter Olympics XXII
By Cassie Dresch
TV Media
T
he snow is falling
on a new Olympics
as the world’s best
athletes all converge on
Sochi, Russia for the 22nd
edition of the Winter
Games.
It’s the first time the
Russian Federation will
host an Olympic event –
the 1980 Moscow Summer
Olympics came at a time
when Russia was still part
of the Soviet Union – and
it’s shaping up to be an
extravagant, illustrious
affair.
Opening with what
promises to be a oncein-a-lifetime spectacle at
the Fisht Olympic Stadium, the Winter Games
officially run from Feb..
7 through to Feb.. 23 and
will be broadcast by NBC.
It all started back in
2007, when Sochi defeated Pyeongchang, South
Korea (the 2018 Olympic
hosts) and Salzburg,
Austria for the rights
to host the 22nd Winter
Games. Since then, an
estimated $50 billion has
been put into creating an
outstanding setting and
atmosphere for the 2014
Olympics.
The city of Sochi was
first founded about 160
years ago along the coast
of the Black Sea and at
the foot of the Caucasus
Mountains. It’s a popular resort destination
year-round with over
200 hotels and plenty of
activities to keep tourists
busy – from scuba diving
and underwater hunting
in the sea to skiing and
hang-gliding in the mountains, there’s never a dull
moment in Sochi.
What makes Sochi so
intriguing and a perfect
Olympic Games location
is its climate. Because
the city is sandwiched
between warm ocean
waters and chilly mountain air, you could be sun
tanning on the coast at
lunch and be skiing in the
mountains by mid-afternoon. Temperatures drop
by about 11°F for each
half-mile up the mountainside you go, meaning it could be a balmy
75°F on the beach, but at
freezing temperatures
two miles up.
It’s for these reasons
that Sochi will have two
venue clusters: the coastal cluster and the mountain cluster. The coastal
cluster will feature all of
the ice sports including
ice hockey, figure skating and speed skating
hosted in six arenas, all
connected by the Olympic
Park down at sea level. Up
in the mountain cluster,
five venues will be home
to many of the downhill
sports like snowboarding
and luge.
The close proximity of
the mountains and the
ocean also means that
these Games will be the
coziest in Winter Olympics history. Both venue
clusters are located about
30 minutes away from
each other, and it will only
take five to 15 minutes
to get from the athletes’
Olympic Villages to their
respective sporting sites.
Back home in the United
States, NBC will have the
2014 Sochi Winter Olympics covered from every
angle, start to finish. As
well as coverage on the
main NBC and NBCSN
networks, NBCUniversal
will use its cable channels
to get even more content out to the masses.
MSNBC, CNBC and the
USA Network will show
a combined total of 124
hours of live coverage of
curling and ice hockey
throughout the Olympics,
including many marquee
match-ups such as the
men’s and women’s curling finals and three Team
Canada men’s hockey
games.
Headlining NBC’s prime
time and late-night
Olympic coverage will
be Bob Costas, a 25-time
Emmy Award winner and
prime-time host of every
Olympic Games on NBC
since 1992.
Costas is no slouch when
it comes to sports broadcasting. His 34 years
with NBC is the longest
of any broadcaster with
the peacock network, and
he’s dabbled in everything related to sports
journalism – he’s served
as a reporter, a play-byplay commentator and
a studio host. Costas is
probably most recognized
for hosting the renowned
NFL show “Football Night
in America,” as well as his
work co-hosting the Triple
Crown of Thoroughbred
Horse Racing.
“Bob’s historical perspective and expertise
will serve as a foundation
for our Sochi coverage
both in prime time and
late night,” said Executive
Producer of NBC Olympics
Jim Bell. “There is no one
better than Bob to lead
us in telling the stories of
the athletes and competition that captivate fans
around the world.”
For the American athletes, Russia will be a new
experience culturally, but

the sports will remain the
same, and a few names
keep cropping up on the
world’s Olympic radar.
Two-time gold medalist
Shaun White will look to
defend his snowboarding halfpipe title when
he heads into Sochi, as
well as battle the world’s
best in the new slopestyle
event. He’s a favorite to
take home the gold yet
again, and he’s looking to
add to his already impressive trophy case.
For Meryl Davis and
Charlie White, the
2014 Winter Games
will hopefully serve
as a little retribution. After narrowly
losing to their biggest rivals and training partners Tessa
Virtue and Scott Moir
in Vancouver, the
ice dancing pair
has gone on
quite a tear,
bringing
home fivestraight
Grand Prix
Final titles,
six-straight
U.S. National Championship
titles and
two World
Championship titles.
With a beautiful setting,
a vibrant culture and a
multitude of great talent
converging on Sochi, the
22nd Winter Olympics is
morphing into an event of
a lifetime for athletes and
viewers at home alike.
Tune into NBC and its
affiliates from Feb.. 7 to
23 and cheer on the home
team.

Sibling rivalries heat up and help out the U.S.
By Cassie Dresch
TV Media
W
e know blood
runs thicker
than water,
but it’s the competitive
juices that propel U.S.
Olympians to success –
especially siblings.
It’ll be a family reunion
of sorts for a few athletes
as they head into Sochi to
fight for gold alongside
their brothers and sisters.
Monique and Jocelyne
Lamoureux grew up in
Grand Forks, N.D., playing
hockey on a pond outside
their home with their four
brothers. Their mother
would blow a whistle
three times from their
porch to let them all know
when supper was ready.
Sometimes they listened
right away, oftentimes
they did not.
“We would rarely listen,
and she would have to
march over to get us,”
Monique told ESPN in November about her and her
siblings’ selective hearing.
“It was just something we
always loved to do.”
For the second time in
as many Winter Games,
these twins are heading
to the Olympics to play
side-by-side in an effort
to bring home a gold
medal for U.S. women’s
hockey. Their stat lines
read almost identical.
Both women are the
same height and weight,
they both had almost
500 points in high school
with Shattuck-St. Mary’s
and both of their college
careers have proven outstanding.
Despite winning silver
in Vancouver in 2010, the
twins both foster a growing drive to bring home
the ultimate prize, and
neither can imagine doing
it without the other.
“The sibling bond has
always been a common
theme for us, and being
able to play and make
the team together has
made it that much more
special,” Jocelyne said.
“But we aren’t satisfied
yet. We are hungry for
more and eventually want
to be able to go out on
top.”
The U.S. women’s ice
hockey team is coming
off an impressive 2013
World Championship
victory over their biggest
and long-time rivals in
the Canadians. Though
they haven’t won the gold
medal at the Olympics
since the inaugural
tournament in 1998, the
national team is poised to
compete for it yet again
in 2014.
For teammate Amanda
Kessel, there’s just as
much to prove. The reigning NCAA player of the
year is heading to her first
Olympics alongside her
brother, NHLer Phil Kessel.
The 22-year-old has been
an absolute treat to watch
on the ice since her start
with Shattuck-St. Mary’s
high school. Now with the
Minnesota Golden Gophers, Amanda has posted
231 points in 114 games. In
the 2012-2013 season, she
helped lead Minnesota to
a national championship
and a 41-0-0 record. She
scored the game-winning
goal for the Americans
at the 2013 World Championships and is now an
Olympian.
Brother Phil is four
years older and has spent
the last five seasons
with the Toronto Maple
Leafs in the NHL. He was
drafted fifth overall by
the Boston Bruins in the
2006 NHL entry draft,
and is one of only a handful of young players who
have posted four 30-goal
seasons in a row.
For Phil, this is his
second Olympics and a
chance at redemption.
The 2010 U.S. men’s team
lost a heartbreaker in
overtime in the gold medal game against Canada.
Backed by some strong
goaltending, this men’s
team has the opportunity
to grab what could have
been theirs in Vancouver.
The brother-sister duo
has always had a competitive streak in them,
something that not only
shapes their games, but
propels them forward.
In an interview with
ESPN magazine, Amanda
describes how Phil tried
to chase her down for five
minutes after she beat
him in a family game of
ping-pong.
“I beat him and had this
little grin on my face,”
she said. “I started walking to the stairs. Next
thing I know, he’s coming
after me. I ran as fast as I
could.”
Phil couldn’t catch her,
and Amanda said she was
glad as she wasn’t quite
sure what he would have
done if he had.
Despite the fierceness in
their relationship – they
are brother and sister after all – they have respect
for one another and each
other’s style of play. Both
have a fluid skating motion, which makes it look
like they’re simply gliding
over the ice, and both
are also elite talents that
contribute when a game
is on the line.
It’ll be a family affair
when the Lamoureux
twins and Kessel siblings
head into Sochi. With relationships built from rivalries and strengthened
by familial ties, you’d
be hard-pressed to
find any athletes in
Russia who want to
succeed more, not
only for themselves but for their
own flesh and
blood too.
